i was at a Safeway and there was a Anime Mag and it came with a free Sample copy of the Type Zero manga. lucky me one of the sample manga was sitting there in the open soooo i sort of looked around a did a quick debate in my head and silently shoved it in my Pocket and bought my eshop card and got the hell out of there. should i feel bad about this???

Yes, you should.

Is there any particular reason why you couldn't have paid for it?

cuse all i had was $20 and i was getting a 20 dolllar eshop card....................

Yes, you should feel awful, and may the dark spirit of that manga forever haunt your soul and give you weird dreams about hedgehogs on unicycles. It won't be a nightmare per say, but it will still be very off-putting. Also, all your future children shall now be named Dave, even the girls. I hope you're happy.  xP

Kinda. Stealing is stealing, even though it was just a free sample. But don't feel too bad about it, since what's done is done and the manga probably wasn't super expensive, just don't do it again.

It was the person who took the free sample manga and left it there's fault. Also, not to leave a bad impression or anything, but it's kinda like that episode of spongebob where they stole a FREE balloon on free balloon day. They put themselves in jail, then were set free 5 seconds later. You are only punishing yourself if you think taking such a small thing that clearly says "Free" on the front of it is a crime.

you had to buy the Magazine to get the sample manga.and they were covered in Plastic expect for one so i sorta took it. i dont really feel bad about it, its just weird cuse i never did somthing like tht before

Well, I mean stealing is bad, but everyone steals at least one thing in their life. If you feel bad for it, that only means you're a good person and not a criminal or anything since you obviously feel remorse for this action. I stole a candy before twice when I was little, and a carton of milk (it was for my friend who didn't have money to get one) and I felt bad for it. It's normal though. Like I said everyone stole at least one thing in their life. If you can, return it. If you can't, just don't do it again.

It's kinda bad, but it's probably worse that you confessed it online where the entire world can read it.

No. Not a big deal at all.

Geeze, Big Boss. You've sunken low, like The Boss. Pity. :P

How old are you? We all stole something before our 20s. It's the kids way of rebelling. Not saying it's good to steal but everyone has done it once in a life.

If you feel bad about it, then it means that deep inside you know that was wrong, and that you won't do it again :)

welll shit o.o good thing i dont have internet at home

Not your fault. They shouldn't have left it in the open.

Well, it's wonderful that you have recognized your mistake. You have a conscience...something that many lack these days. I would suggest returning it, but even if you do not, at least you can learn from this experience. Manga? Out in the open? No one looking? Mine? Nope! You are much better than that.  :)

Dare one ask where, exactly, a business is supposed to leave their wares OTHER than inside their place of business? Whether it's on the rack or on the floor, it's still theirs until you pay them for it.

I think the notion of Big Business = Evil and Little Guy = Good is kind of fallacious, when you consider that I can steal an apple from either of them, and the act of stealing the apple is the same whether they can shrug it off or not. Jut because our society's populism fetish constantly operates under the impression that the little man is always the moral superior doesn't make it any less of a theft.

Lol.

'Tis only a joke, Dave... 'Tis only  a joke~

I can't say that you should've done it, as everyone else said that stealing is wrong no matter how you look at it. Truthfully, though, the best thing to do is learn from your mistake and move on with life. We all do things we regret (I know that I certainly have) and it's not worth beating yourself up over something you can't take back.

It's not something that should keep you up at night, but it's still kind of a dick move. You weren't exactly robbing from the rich to feed your starving grandma here. It was too petty to take seriously, but it's precisely because it was petty that it feels weird to have bothered doing it at all. Kind of a losing situation either way.

When I was a kid and got into Harry Potter, I desperately wanted the fourth book but didn't have quite enough to afford it.  I ended up switching the price tag on it with the third book so I could afford.  Now that I think about it, someone out there might have paid way too much on the third book...

If you want to make amends, when you have the money you can go to the store manager, explained what you did and give them the money for the book.  It's wrong that you did it, but you can still make amends. And it's good to have a healthy dose of humility.
