I've been thinking. In the first game we had a full party, three characters, Sora Donald and Goofy for the final battle. In CoM, while they where cards, we could still call in them for help. In KH2 we only had two characters, Sora and Riku. In 3D, even though there where no proper party members, Sora still had help from his Sprits. Do you think that in the final battle of KH3 Sora will have to fight Xehanort completely alone with no A.I. controlled party members to help? By "Final battle" I mean the very last form Xehanort takes in the series of end-game boss battles. So, you think Sora will have to rely solely on thinks he can do himself, without party member assistance? I know Kingdom Hearts is all about the "Power of Friendship" but his friends don't physically have to be with Sora to empower him and, if done right, it could be more meaningful if he can rely on them without them present.

Personally what I'd like tob see is a multi-phase battle with each phase having a different character fighting alongside Sora, ending with a one on one with whatever the final antagonist turns out to be

It's probably gonna be something like this:  Everyone gives their power to Sora and Sora gets yet another fancy set of clothes and maybe a different, more powerful keyblade (possibly just the same Kingdom Key with a different colour) and then Sora goes off to fight Xehanort or the Sixth Apprentice alone(though he technically won't be alone)

Sora runs in, Lea is also there, they fight. Something happens and Lea has to do something like that suicide attack from KH2 (minus the suicide hopefully) and is all like "Get going!"

Then Roxas and Xion show up, and they finish off by doing some sort of team up attack to Sora cna press on

then the same with with Terra Aqua and Ventus

Then Sora and Riku team up, things look bad, and WHAM Kairi comes in and kicks someone's ass. Then some other forms of xehanort (Ansem and Xemnas?) show up and Kairi and Riku are all like "We can handle this" and Sora enters Kingdom Hearts for the final confrontation with Xehanort or whatever

Sora thinks he's alone, but then in a way that mirrors KH1 Donald and Goofy show up to help him.

While there, after fighting a battle you can't win, Sora does a final MY FRIENDS ARE MY POWER speech, creates an awesome X Blade style keyblade, and his commands get replaced with powerful new commands that represent Sora's friends, then a final reaction command type thing where everyone teams up to deal the final blow

The reason I put Roxas and Xion last was because it's not really sure if they will get bodies of their own. But while inside KH well, anything could happen. 

 

I like how we both forgot Namine, it's not like she can do much but still. Maybe she can draw the fight from a distance.

the goal of the game beyond defeat xehanort is to save lea xion namine roxas terra aqua ventus and presumably ansem from their hurt. As such, it seems likely everybody will be restored at some point before the climax. Besides maybe Terra, since h's kinda hung up right now

She will need training. Depends on when Sora finds the keyblade it might be too late for her to learn how to fight.

Well, the "Key to Return Hearts" may not be Keyblade. And don't forget her memory manipulation powers, she would use the other's technique by reading their memories of battle, then use those techniques herself.

But they specifically said "Quick Time Events" Not "Reaction Command" that's not just a Square term, it's a universal gaming term for a pre-scripted, situation specific, cinematic action.

Personally I think it will be either Sora alone or everyone together (at least the 7 guardians of light)

I think its too early to speculate about final boss battles and such but i think its going to be a 1v1 sora vs MX 

While the idea of Sora facing Xehanort mano a mano sounds great, I really think that everyone will pitch in and help defeat Xehanort, since everyone pretty much has a bone to pick with him!  It'll be the battle to avenge all these characters who've suffered so much because of old man Xehanort's machinations!
