July 11, 201510 yr I think it's the best game so far because lots of new game play mechanics that were added in like drive forms, it also did a lot for the storyline Edited July 11, 201510 yr by z_patrick_o
July 11, 201510 yr I don't know if it's the best; surely it's my favourite one Edited July 11, 201510 yr by Seeker Of Nothingness
July 11, 201510 yr KH2 is a great game but it isn't my favorite game KH1 will always be my favorite no matter what, but in general is it the best, maybe since it was a lot of peoples first KH game, but I believe that the first KH game is still the one with the most sold copies so there is that
July 11, 201510 yr Kingdom Hearts 2 is my favorite kingdom hearts game because it is the first kingdom hearts game I've played and I have a lot of memories with the title. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like kingdom hearts 3 when it releases and it will probably turn into my favorite kingdom hearts game. Edited July 11, 201510 yr by Kaito Daimon
July 11, 201510 yr Let's wait until the game gets released. Then we'll see which of the two is superior.
July 11, 201510 yr Birth by Sleep. Hmm... I wonder why that's the case for you, is it to do with something blue and watery? I'm one of the few who personally prefers the first game. You know what, I understand where you're coming from. The plot was simple enough for everybody to understand. The worlds actually played a greater role in the overall plot, Billy Zane voicing Ansem (back when he was considered as the main antagonist) and the Disney villains were actually respected and threatening. Personally, for me, It's a tie between Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep. Birth By Sleep had better villains and provided more depth towards the playable protagonists whilst Kingdom Hearts 2 made better use of the Disney material, popularised the series and has the best command style.

Actually, a big part of my reasoning has to do with gameplay. While I like KH2's action-based gameplay as well, KH1 felt much more strategic and difficult to me, and I love strategic gameplay. The reasons you listed fit too, but the strategic gameplay elements are my main reason (I'm personally more of a gameplay-oriented person than story-oriented).
July 11, 201510 yr Kingdom Hearts 2 is my favorite game so far, follow by Dream Drop Distance, 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, and Re:Coded.

And the best villain in the history of the universe
July 11, 201510 yr I am someone who holds the story above all else, and while KH2 delivered a very well-rounded experience, I have to give Birth By Sleep the upper hand because of its story. The story was very intriguing and all 3 characters were interesting and complex. Xehanort proved to be the best villain to date, and over all I left the game feeling more satisfied about the story than I have any other KH game.

July 12, 201510 yr more like clunk by clunk I don't see much wrong with Birth By Sleep (aside a missed opportunity for a Lion King world with a Young Simba/Nala and Laguna being featured).
July 12, 201510 yr re chain of memories = strategic and difficult gameplay in a kingdom hearts game I love CoM, too. I just prefer KH1's combat system over the cards in CoM.
July 12, 201510 yr Kingdom Hearts II is an amazing game, and it has so much content and variety and worlds and such, and it has such an amazing story, so yeah, the game really is one of the best in the series. Actually, the game falls into a list of my top three KH games, which are: Birth By Sleep Kingdom Hearts II Dream Drop Distance Although really, I love every single game in the series, but those three stand as my top three! Although I'm sure that Kingdom Hearts III will eclipse all the other games, though! X3

I personally don't have a "particular" favourite as they all play in their own special way and all have fantastic gameplay and storyline innovations alongside making the most out of the Disney property.
July 12, 201510 yr Kingdom Hearts 1 is my favorite, but it's really just preference. I really respect what KH2 brings with combat(sora is just so damn smooth and powerful), roxas, ending, and just epicness (xemnas's final battle). I definitely see why this is the consensus number 1 game. I just prefer Kh1s: extras, depth, exploration, less linear worlds, better world design(more to look at), The more consistent better story, Hollow Bastion is still my favorite segment in KH history, and I liked sora better as a character in 1(subtle things, like Kairi's grandma's story, and I'll return this) I understand KH2 over KH1. I don't understand BBS over either of them though.......................................................
July 12, 201510 yr KH2 was my favorite because of Roxas. He became my favorite character and it really became more solidified in 358/2 days. That dual keyblade fight with Roxas and Axel is probably my favorite part in the game.

Exactly, that's what I think! And I really wish that fans who haven't played the non-numbered titles would get to play these titles already, since they add some crucial points in the overall plot of the Kingdom Hearts Universe! Because truly, the whole scope of the Xehanort saga is truly something to behold! And well, sure, people who haven't played the non-numbered titles will still enjoy KHIII, but they probably won't understand a lot of things. But, if they play all the games, they'll have a deeper love for the series as a whole, you know?

Anyone else think so....well until KH3 this is their best KH game.
