Who Introduced you to Kingdom Hearts Series?

Featured Replies

My older brother introduced me a while back, but I never really got into it until a few years ago.

He realises it was a big mistake to force me to play the first game. xD

Peace!

a really annoying guy who used to be on this forum actually.

I didn't meet him on this forum specifically, just a coincidence

He had this annoying obsession with Sora being in Smash Bros and wouldn't listen to anybody. Argued for pages about it, and got really personal when he got mad at people

...so yeah, not exactly the most positive first exposure to KH, but it's what got me to know about it enough to eventually try it, so hey

Oddly enough, my jerk of a brother. If he hadn't bought the games, I wouldn't have known about it.

But I also remember seeing it on TV once.

My father actually bought KH I for me . That's how I was introduced to the series . When I played the game , I immidiately fell in love with it . And after I found out that there were franchises coming up , I literally couldn't hold myself .

My uncle introduced me to the series. One day I saw him playing kingdom hearts 2 on the ps2. After watching him play the game for a while, I asked him if I could play it and soon after that, he loaded a new save file for me and that's how it started. :)

My older cousin. My mom bought the first game for his birthday since she knew he liked PS2 games, he was hooked on the series soon after that.

Sometime later, I visited him again, and asked if I could play GTA on his PS2, he insisted I play something more age appropriate and I ended being forced to play Kingdom Hearts instead haha. That was my first taste of Kingdom Hearts, though I still had my doubts about it even after that. I'd say I really got into it around the time KH II released, which again, he asked me to play it, but this time I went in with more of an open mind, and actually enjoyed it without being doubtful about it like I had the first time around. So I really got hooked after that, and the rest is history!~

My cousin once told me Kingdom Hearts was a masterpiece of a game, but I never took him seriously. Then one day I was bored and didn't know what to play and it suddenly popped out in my mind that I could finally try this Kingdom Hearts saga... well, you can easily understand what the outcome was 0/*  <3

When I first got a ps2 in 2003 or something from my father, I used to call it a police station (I was 4)

All I remember is being outside our doctors office and my sister showing me a few games, on the top was KH1 platinum edition and the cover intrigued me a lot.

I think either my sister bought them for me, or we borrowed them from our doctors children. I can't remember.

Pirates of the Caribbean.

My best friend. But when I saw the game the first time, we weren't friends. I hated him tbh, but he had this strange obsession to this game called Kingdom Hearts and I decided to take a look.

My two older cousins :)

We saw a commercial of KHI back in 2002, and we decided to play the game together xD

I was introduced via game magazine back in 2003, which is more of a what than a who (hopefully I can still post this here).

I'd fallen in love with Final Fantasy X, and always had the habit of looking through game magazines in shops. I'd seen a Sora and Kairi, and initially thought they were Tidus and Yuna (hey, I was quite easily impressionable back then), and because it was mixed of Disney I felt like I needed to get it. You could imagine the rude awakening I had once I had actually started playing it, but of course I'd fallen head over heels for the series ever since. If it wasn't for square and their obsession to give their protagonists spiky hair the story might have been different. :)

Nobody. I remember seeing a commercial on TV back in 2002? I think... I was like about 13 or 14 (middle school) when I saw it.

Coldplay released their song Viva La Vida, I youtubed it and saw a KH AMV with the song. After watching it I thought "I must play this" and so I did and discovered my favourite game in the process. Thanks Coldplay.

My parents. They bought me the House of Villains on VCR, and the rest is history.

I went over to my cousin's house and saw him playing Kingdom Hearts.

I got the game too and fell in love with it.

Destiny and fate led me to discover this amazing series :)

My mama. xD I remember taking one looks at the cover, and wanting nothing to do with the game, but she insisted. Been hooked ever since! X3

Thanks, mom. :3

Saw the game in a game store and liked the artwork of the cover, so I bought it.

And now I can't imagine a life without it.

Friends back when I was in elementary school

I saw a an ad on the tv, and the rest is history

Oddly enough, it was my parents. They gave it to me as a Christmas present because they thought I might like it. I thought it looked interesting, so I played it, and fell in love with the story. I'd never played a Final Fantasy game, nor did I know any of the Final Fantasy characters, so I didn't know anything about that aspect of it. Hell, I thought Cloud and Sephiroth were two halves of one being at first, because of the black wing. It's interesting, thinking back on it, Kingdom Hearts actually got me into Final Fantasy.

My father used to buy pirate copies of various games in a bundle.

As a kid and bored, I found KH2 in  the middle of one of those bundles.

Naturally, ever since then I've been buying the real deal, feels more satisfying.

TV introduced it to me. Thank you TV
