FFXV just had its final ATR (there's been 7 of them) showing off the most recent development aspects of the game. Should Square Enix hold a development update talk show like they did with FFXV for KH3? I feel like KH3 is too big to keep leaving fans in the dark for extended periods of time

No way! They shouldn't have them. Nomura does not want to accidentally give away some big information and so they won't.

Why have ATR's for the game? I'd rather not have so many parts of the game spoiled, even if it just gameplay. I can understand why everyone's thirsty for content, but I think we can survive without things like Active Time Reports. We've done so for every other game, why be so hasty now?

ATR sounds like it's far away from being finished. I don't like it.

Okay here's the deal.

 

Nomura already confirmed it is not possible for them to hold presentations similar to the Active Time Report due to Disney.

 

In addition, Square Enix holds livestreams like the ATR for most of their games. ATR is something for BD2 games. The other divisions hold their own.

Like Sora96 said, Disney puts all sorts of constraints on what Nomura is allowed to reveal, and when you live stream something there is always the possibility that information can come out that wasn't supposed to. We all just need to accept that KH is a series where info comes out pretty much exclusively around gaming events.

nah they shouldn't. besides the reasons listed above it's not like they have anything to show. plus seeing how this is the climax of the story i wouldn't want them to show off too much even if they could. that would limit them to showing the same areas and features and that would get old real fast. 

 

they should just stick to working on releasing it. we know it's being made and that's good enough. 

Nope. 

Disney tends to be really protective of it's stuff mid-development. If it's closer to release time (for ANYTHING) they're a little more comfortable with sneak peak stuff, but when it comes to looking at stuff before the pants are even drawn on yet, they tend to keep the windows closed tight. Sorry to say, but you'll literally have to wait for new trailers to compare between in order to have any kind of "development update".

Anything to get more information can't really be a negative, right?

Disney are tight asses about this sort of stuff.

I don't want ATRS for KH3, let the FF series have it. KH3 doesn't need them either, it'll spoil too much and take away the value of KH3 news. I don't understand why KH fans always see something that FF has and say "Let's have that for KH3!"... they obviously don't realise that FF and KH are different. It's quite sad tbh.

I'd rather have a general report which does not give many details but informs us in general about the development. For example something like that:

 

October 2015 - January 2016

- new world map finished

- battle gameplay improved

- new magic added

- new world themes composed

 

Sounds too good to become true

 

Never mind, 5 months left till E3
