Not sure if anyone has posted this topic previously, but I'm very curious to know what y'all think of the idea of 2.8 coming to the X1?

I have this one frame of thought, and I've heard others who think the same in various outlets, but it goes something like this: Basically 0.2 is the prologue to 3, right? When they've already announced 3 for X1 why would they leave out the prologue and make it a PS4 exclusive?

I realize that for awhile there KH was a PS "exclusive". but only because, really, it was the only competitive system at the time; the Xbox wasn't really gaining momentum at the time, nor the GameCube.

I feel like I'm drudging on about nonsense, but I'm interested in hearing what you all think. And please, for the love of God, PLEASE don't say stuff like "KH 3 shouldn't come out for the X1 anyway", because, in my HUMBLE opinion, it's not a valid argument.

Thanks.

I think it can't be released on the Xbox One, because of DDD. We will probably need the touchpad on the PS4 controller, at least I think so.

I'm not sure about that; I think they'll find a way to do without any touch feature whatsoever, irregardless if it releases for X1 as well.

Well like I said I'm not 100% sure about it. It's the only logical reason I can think of why it won't be released on the XBox One, but KH3 will.

I'm just trying to be optimistic, here. I just really don't want to buy or borrow a PS4. lol

It's most likely, like Felixx said, because of DDD. The XBone doesn't have the touch pad capabilities that DDD needs. Whereas the PS4 does. Plus I think it makes more sense since KH is generally known as a Playstation title. KHIII being on the XBone is a smart business move on their part because it brings in more money. A lot more.

KH1 wasn't developed for the PS2 because it was the only competitive console at the time. It was developed for PS2 because Square had an exclusivity contract with Sony. There's no excuses for 2.8 to not be on Xbox One however.

because that would make too much sense.

idc that KH3 is on multiple consoles. it's on the console i have and that's all i need. as for 2.8, it really makes no sense as to why it's not being released on Xbox One. 2.8 has some very important story details that are all going to be dealt with in KH3 so by making it an exclusive, SE is just setting up their Xbox One KH fans for confusion.

and i don't buy that the touch controls are the cause of PS4 exclusivity. Touch controls are just an alternative to actual button inputs which means you could easily redesign the layout to work on a normal controller like the Xbox One. i

These are those kind of decisions that really makes me scratch my head.

Regardless of what console(s) Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 may have been on, there are two equally competitive consoles now, I.e. Ps4 & X1.

It'd be silly to make 2.8 exclusively for one.

This whole X-Box One fiasco with the KH games is a little weird to me!  Okay, so KHIII is gonna come out for XBox One, right?  That's fine and all, and I'm cool with that, because hey, the more KH fans we get, the better!  But what I don't get is, why make XBox fans miss out on the ReMixes, since they're Sony exclusive at the moment? And now 2.8's also gonna be Sony exclusive!  I mean, okay, maybe Nomura and Squared Elvis don't have time to make a port for XBox One, but at some point, they'll have to port all the other KH games for XBox One, because Microsoft fans will need the other games to understand the bigger picture, ya know?

So what I'm gettin at here is that XBox owners will probably get 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8, but probably until after KHIII comes out, ya know?  That's just food for thought! Speaking of food... *Munches on a pancake.*  Mmm...this is the good stuff! <3

The touchpad controller excuse for a big cop out. They can creatively port the touchscreen controls using button combinations or the right annalog stick if they wanted to.They're just don't want to make an Xbox One version because it would probably sell poorly taking the account of Type 0 HD's sales. KH3's Xbone development is so far in they probably can't cancel that.

I'll say the same thing I said in another post about this, I think the reason 2.8 is not coming to X1 is because it sells like shit in Japan and for a Japanese game developer its only logical not waste money on a X1 version when it doesn't sell anywhere near as much as the PS4. As for KH3 I think Microsoft realized that KH is pretty big in the west and then paid Square to make an X1 version. But that's just what I think

Why does everyone assume that Microsoft just paid to have Kingdom Hearts III put on their console? X1 is the biggest gaming console in the market, seconded only by the PS4. Even though X1 doesn't sell as well in Japan, doesn't mean Square-Enix wouldn't want KH3 on the X1.

As for the touch pad argument, that's just a gimmick, and makes no difference.

Kingdom Hearts is supposed to be on Playstation anyway X1 fans should be happy to have KH3.

That is why the HD Remix collections were made on PS3.

They should be "happy" that they get 3?

2.8 is supposed to answer a lot of questions left unanswered in the series; why shouldn't they get 2.8 as well? I seriously have no clue where this sense of entitlement that PS4 owners have came from; it's sad.

Yeh they should be happy if they are true fans of KH they should be playing it on Playstation.

If not they need to play it on 3ds and mobile.

LOL at your comment. Listen, many people who owned a ps2 went to Xbox 360 because, at the time, it was greatly superior to the PS3 due to the better quality and amount of quality games that the 360 had. Many fans, such as myself, moved to the Xbox One because we assumed, along with the majority of the gaming world, that it'd be a similar case to the previous generation. Obviously, at the time, we were wrong. But for you to say we should just settle for Kingdom Hearts 3 and, basically, not deserve 2.8 is ignorant and rude. True fans aren't limited to a specific console and for you to say that true fans should've gotten a PS4 instead is ignorant.

Nah it is true. Won't be the same anyway on X1.

A fan can go to X1 but a true fan should stay with Playstation.

I have no thoughts about it. It isn't coming to XboxOne plain and simple. Nothing we can do will change that. Whether there should or shouldn't be excuses why it isn't makes no difference now. What's done is done and we accept it as is.

That's truly the blindest, most ridiculous thing I've read in a long time. Apparently I can't be a true fan if I don't stay with PlayStation. I can't follow a video game that I've played for years, upon years of my life. A game series I've dedicated myself to and love so much. I'm no longer capable of feeling that or have the right to be called a true fan because I have a Xbox One? Well that's okay, because if the way you act is the way it means to be a true fan, than I'd rather not be.

As a bonus, I own every console right now and I think the Xbox has every right to have the HD ReMIX titles on it. Square is doing poor business by selling a set of remasters exclusively for PlayStation when Kingdom Hearts 3, a title coming to both consoles, happens to be the end of an entire saga. If they plan to sell that game well on the X1, they best start pumping out the ReMIXes. There are no excuses here.

This right here. I couldn't agree more. Also, since making this thread, I've obtain a ps4. Although, I'm still advocating for 2.8 for both consoles.

Well, the XB One does only sell the most in the USA and UK (iirc) because most of its services can't be used outside of the US - so it's only logical why SE did not try to make 2.8 for it. When they said they would and will do KH3 for it, that was a different time, no one would have known how low the sales would be.

In short: it's just about the money. They don't care if someone with an One would get the whole story. However, if they are nice they could make a version for the people outside Japan, but I don't think that will happen.

Square is making use of the touchpad, so it won't work with the Xbox One.

They could probably get away with using an analog stick as the touch features typically freeze the action anyway.
