Franchises You Could Never Get Invested In?

Posted

What are those franchises that everyone around you loves, but for some reason you could never get into them.

For me it's Tales Of and Mario xD

Ok that was joking, with the kingdom hearts one and even metal gear, but I seriously can't get into any of those franchises

I haven't logged on to neopets in years....

Answering the question tho:

Star wars

Mineshaft

Dark souls

Resident evil

Mario

Legend of Zelda

And there's prolly more but I can't think of them

Mario-- Too bland as far as its universe goes, the 3D platformers have decent gameplay, tho.

Red Dead-- GTA with horses. Also, it's story didn't grab me

Borderlands-- Repetitive as all hell

Anything made by Valve

Any racing game that isn't a Kart racer

Pretty much any Nintendo franchise that isn't Zelda or good for parties

Sports games

MOBAs

The witcher series. I really tried to like the games but i just cant...

The stuff I didn't really like (like Citizens of Earth) weren't really franchises. Though at first I didn't like Final Fantasy, but after giving it another go, I liked it.

Neopets

Calm down Keyboard Warrior.

Final Fantasy (15 looks really cool though and from what I understand will play totally differently to the others so that may change with that)

Elder Scrolls - I mean the games are okay but I really don't get the big deal about them

Fallout - Same reason

Pokemon

FIFA and every annual sports title

Sonic

Mario

Uncharted

Those are the first ones that come to my mind.

I just recently tried playing the first two Infamous games and holy shit, I cannot get used to how those play. It's that weird meshing of superhero free-roaming, platforming and third person that can be hard to balance well and I don't think Sucker Punch did any of them particularly well. Crackdown, Prototype and Saint's Row IV all nailed it a lot better I think.

Also, for the longest time I could not get into Metal Gear because I refused to play them out of order- problem is I firetrucking hate the first Metal Gear Solid and I could never bring myself to plow through it, so like a year and a half ago I said screw it and bought the HD collection with 2, 3 and Peacewalker and immediately got way more interested.

All First Person Shooter games except Star Wars Battlefront

Ledgend of Zelda

Fire Emblem

Dark Souls

Any Spyro games after Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon

Pokemon

Resident Evil

Persona

Halo (I just hate it)

Call of Duty

Gears of War

The Witcher

Bravely Default

The Punisher; I've never really understood the popularity of a character who kills every enemy he encounters.

Kingdom Hearts-I was invested until the series derailed itself with the handheld entries to an oblivion of bullshit

Dark Souls-The worst type of trial and error I've ever seen and it stops being a fun type of hard and go into cheap territory

Call of Duty

Battlefield

Elder Scrolls

Sonic-Quality of his games reached rock bottom especially two years ago with Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric

Resident Evil-I just lost interest after Resident Evil 4 and in general I'm sick of horror games that rely on zombies way way waaaay too much

Five Nights at Freddy's:First game was neat and all but it never deserved an entire franchise

Halo:Loved the series but after Reach the games that followed ranged from average to mediocre for me especially Halo 5

Mortal Kombat:I used to love the series but after Mortal Kombat X I realized that the series isn't for me

Most MusouWarriors games from Koei Tecmo

Assassin's Creed

Watch Dogs

Star Wars Battlefront

and All David Cage games:Fahreinheit,Indigo Prophecy,Heavy Rain(ok Heavy Rain I admit was decent) and especially Beyond Two Souls I hate that game

UnchartedAssassins CreedPersonaTales OfMonster HunterTo name a few. There are plenty of games where I've tried an entry or two, but never really got into them for one reason or another (eg; Borderlands, loved the first game when playing co-op with a friend but despite owning both Borderlands 2 and the Pre-sequel I've not beaten or invested time into them because I have no one to play with. This lack of enthusiasm meant I skipped the Telltale game too)

Monster Hunter. It just looks so unappealing. I'm surprised it's as successful as it is. Honestly, Bandai Namco's God Eater is far superior in every way.

Definitely World of Warcraft and League of Legends.  Honestly I don't see how someone can sit at their computers for hours or days and play those

B-but the first one is the best one :

If it helps, I also kind of hate MGS3. :P

- Super Mario Bros

- Need For Speed

- FIFA/PES

- Metal Gear Solid

- LOL/WOW/DOTA2

- CS:GO

- Persona

- Final Fantasy

- God of War

- Infamous

- Tales Of Series

And many others xD

League of Legends

Minecraft

Mainly PC games tho...people tell me all the time that I'm missing out

FF - too late for me to get into and different stories I guess?Undertale - it doesn't look appealing at all.Yokai Watch - same as above+just no.AC - Meh. CoD - I suck at shooting games+online... Enough said.MG - Another I feel like I'm too late to get into, but don't feel like trying. Doesn't look too appealing to me.There's more, but I'm too lazy to go on.
