It doesn't sound that dirty.

When it comes to entertainment or life in general, what's something you read/watch/eat/do that's actually unpopular in reality.

guilty pleasure

something, such as a film, television programme, or piece of music, that one enjoys despite feeling that it is not generally held in high regard

I'd say, those really AWFUL, toilet humour type of comedies. Adam sandler movies like the Benchwarmers, the Scary Movie franchise, disaster movie, superhero movie. They aren't meant to be award winning movies, they are just meant to be funny in a stupid way. Me and my friends used to watch those movies as kids and think we were edgy because they were age rated for 16 year olds.

Bleach isn't held in a high regard at all, to most people the story is a flaming pile of rubbish. I still love it to death though. I love Naruto also and in the anime community it's become trendy to hate on Naruto.

Drama/ Slice of life animes? I really like those

My biggest guilty pleasure in films is the over the top cheese fests released by The Asylum. Yeah, they're movies are sh%t, but they release literal camp gold on a yearly basis, and I have a blast watching them.

A serious guilty pleasure in books is the recent Disney novels that redo the films as "Dark and edgy". Yeah, also crap, but they're fun to read as just fluff when you don't have anything else going on.

Final Fantasy XIII... it's not entirely bad but I do see it's flaws, especially in it's sequel

Days... it's my first kh game so nostalgia.

Rise of the Guardians... I couldn't resist watching it twice...

Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland... it's his own take on Alice in Wonderland, it's been done tons of times in anime and manga. Though the Mad Hatter is really creepy... (the way he looks mostly)

Sonic Heroes... I still like it to this day though Metal Sonic final boss is near impossible to get a S rank on.

Teen dramas such as 7th Heaven, The OC, Dawson's Creek and Boy Meets World. I'm a sucker for those kind of shows.

porn lol jk or am I?

Kamen Rider, a Japanese tokusatsu television program that features a new show each year. The basic premise of the show chronicles the adventures of the protagonist as they battle evil in a monster of weak style format, that culminates in a penultimate battle against the series primary villian. To combat the villians, the heroes use devices called Drivers that allow them to transform into armored heroes, and use whatever powers their respective shows theme is. Their primary mode of transport is motorcyle, hence the name rider. Honestly I love Kamen Rider. It's got great acting, great action, and has great stories to tell. A lot of people I know look at me weird when watch it.

Them:  "Does it have dub?"
Me: *Slaps the shit out of them* "Go watch your shitty dubs somewhere else!"

But seriously if you're ever in mood to step into the world of Kamen Rider and never come back I recommend Kamen Rider Gaim. It's a really solid entry in the Kamen Rider series, maybe the best one I've seen so far. Honestly I didn't think a series with the theme of fruit could be classified as completely badass, but Kamen Rider Gaim pulled it off in glorious fashion.

Time to smash some childhoods into smithereens. These colorfully clad heroes are not the world renown Power Rangers. These are the red heroes of the classic Japanese tokusatsu series Super Sentai.

"But wait those look like Power Rangers". Actually it's the other way around, Power Rangers is in fact an American adaption of the long standing Japanese action show Super Sentai, which first aired in 1975 with it's debut series Himitsu Sentai Gorenger and is now on it's 40th annivesary show Doubutsu Sentai Zyuogher .

Power Rangers adapts Super Sentai series, by taking stock footage(usually the in suit footage) from the respective Sentai Show, and editing it together with their own originally filmed footage and voice acting. In this way they create an American version of that Super Sentai season. The trend started with the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which every kid from the 80-90's era knows about. The show was an adaptation of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the sixthteenth installment of the Super Sentai franchise. It also mixed in elements from Gosei Sentai Dairanger, and Ninja Sentai Kakuranger(which would be adapted into the Alien Rangers if I recall). Ever wonder why the original White Ranger had a completely different style suit then the other rangers? It's because that suit was from a completely different set of rangers.

There are currently 40 installments of the Super Sentai Series each with their own unique theme. For those more familiar Power Rangers it would probably be a little easier to start with installments already adapted by Saban.

MMPR(Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger)
Power Rangers Zeo ( Chouriki Sentai Ohranger)
Power Rangers Turbo (Gekisou Sentai Carranger)
Power Rangers In Space (Denji Sentai Megaranger)
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (Seijuu Sentai Gingaman)
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (KyuuKyuu Sentai GoGo Five)
Power Rangers Timeforce (Mirai Sentai Timeranger)
Power Rangers Wildforce (Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger)
These series will be more familiar if you grew up with Power Rangers when they first started. I'm not really familiar with the new series of PR names outside the ones I watch with my nephew. So those are just some starting points. Now what sets SS apart from PR... almost everything really. While admittedly some PR adaptions have held there own and in some cases surpassed there SS counterpart. But for the most part SS is PR on steroids. There is a lot more depth to these shows then there with PR. A lot of times when adapting over, there is a lot that get's lost in translation. Most of the times it's because Japan and America have largely different cultures. So what might make sense or be meaningful in Japan, doesn't carry as well in America. There is also a lot less restriction as far keeping it kid friendly. While Super Sentai is primarily targeted towards children, it's something older generations can watch and genuinely enjoy. Especially if you're like me and enjoy martial art actions shows. There is something in Super Sentai for just about everyone, especially because they make a point to reference shows that a previous generation enjoyed growing up. The original red hero still makes appearances now and again.

Teen dramas such as 7th Heaven, The OC, Dawson's Creek and Boy Meets World. I'm a sucker for those kind of shows.
Growing up with eight girls, I have probably seen more chick flicks and more soap operas then I care to admit.

I guess anime and manga could be considered a guilty pleasure considered that It's apparently "for kids"

Only the west has this attitude of "animation = automatic kiddy fare".

I prefer ReCoded over Days and DDD.

Smashing pumpkins. Not the band. I legitimately enjoy getting my baseball bat and smashing pumpkins and sometimes watermelons

When it comes to multiplayer, I feel at best when I'm playing locally with my brother, my dad, or friends. I personally dislike Online matches in games such as SSB and Pokemon. The game either lags, or the people I face off against are much better at the game than I could possibly bother to become myself. But since most games nowadays are having some kind of Online Multiplayer, more people want to play that way. I guess I can't blame anyone here.

And, well, there's one other thing I could say, but I don't feel the need to.

Rock on!

A guilty pleasure?  Hmm...ooh, I know!  I love, and I do mean love, Disney's underrated films!  The ones I'm talking about are The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Chicken Little and The Emperor's New Groove!  All of these films somehow didn't get their spotlight as their other siblings such as Beauty And The Beast, The Lion King, and so on!

I don't get why people didn't like these movies all that much!  Treasure Planet and Atlantis: The Lost Empire both have amazing stories, and are films that went bold, trying to form a new direction for Disney!  But it seemed critics didn't like that the films were lacking in songs, and just because of that, they didn't get all that much love! I mean, hello!!!!  These films tried to do something different for Disney, and I really loved them!

Chicken Little is a film I hold close to my heart, since it's one I grew up on!  Lol, I never get tired of watching it, and it's always funny to me, and I just love all the different references to pop culture, such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones! (Omg, and the fact Disney purchased Lucasfilms a few years later...this was basically foreshadowing what was to come! xD) Overall, a great film!

And good God, Hunchback! The thing I love most about this film is that it wasn't afraid to go dark!  The film had its funny moments and light touches here and there, but the film was mostly dark throughout, dealing with themes such as discrimination, sin, and the dark side of religion!  I've always been fascinated with Disney's Hunchback, and it's a film I never get tired of watching, because it was made so well!  And yet, I don't hear that many people talking about this film, which is a real shame, since it's a golden gem of Disney's library!

For The Emperor's New Groove, lol, it was so hilarious, and I loved every single moment of it!  Kuzco and Pacha's chemistry was awesome, and I just loved Kronk! The story was a hilarious romp of a ride!

But yeah, sadly, not a lot of people hold these films in high regard!  So when I hear someone talking about these films and have seen them, I get excited, because I'm like: "OMG YESSS, YOU'VE WATCHED THESE MOVIES!"

But yeah, I'm talking too much. xD

I feel a bit ashamed to admit that I enjoy the Scream TV series. The Scream movie series is easily my favorite horror franchise (and one of my favorite movie franchises in general; the witty writing, new twists on the genre, and mystery elements are absolutely fantastic) so I was skeptical to see that MTV of all channels would be getting a whole TV series aimed at a younger audience, and while I find it to be flawed and nowhere near the quality of the movies (even 3 and 4, which are pretty hit-or-miss among fans. I love them but I'll admit that the first two are the best), it's... actually still pretty enjoyable. The characters aren't as interesting as the ones from the movies and the shift in target audience is painfully obvious given how often it goes into long segments of teen drama that make you almost forget that you're watching a horror series, but the moments where it does stick to the roots of the movies are what got me to keep watching and have fun with it. I should also add that I haven't gotten around to seeing much of season 2, so maybe that one will fix the issues I have with the show. I'm also a bit of a snob when it comes to the horror genre, so that should also be taken into account.

I'm tempted to add in the horror genre in general, given two reasons: a lot of people seem to think of horror fans as being weird, morbid people that just love watching murder (or maybe that's not the case and I'm just worried that it is? I don't know, I tend to keep quiet about being a new entry to the horror audience), and also because so many of them are just awful or lazy. One look at Netflix's horror library is all you need as an example of that second reason...

Oh, alright. xD Good to know I'm not the only one around here with those thoughts.

I'm a sucker for romantic movies. I just watched Before We Go which stars and is directed by Chris Evans. I absolutely fell in love with that movie.
