Kingdom Hearts III can now be preloaded onto Xbox One

Kingdom Hearts III can now be preloaded onto Xbox One!

While this may be a concern for fans who fear Kingdom Hearts III could be hacked, Xbox encryption is very secure and preloads have not been hacked before with a retail Xbox.

A picture of the preload by @WindowsWhelider can be seen below.

I really wonder why they don’t go for a surprise digital pre-release in time for the Holiday season. If the game is complete enough to be preloaded there is no reason to hold it back. It would even boost their sales; Hollywood has been pushing digital with those early releases for a while before the actual release on physical media...

also, seems like we’ve seen all of KH3’s worlds and surprises with that small file size...

To be honest, I'm not too concerned about someone hacking the preloaded game. If that was such a common issue, I doubt they would offer it this early. I'd be more worried about insiders leaking something.

Though I did not expect it to become available this early. I have nothing against it since it's just a preload but it still is very far away. To be fair, I don't buy digital copies so I won't know exactly, but is just seems rather early.

It's better to be careful of leaks, fake or not. What was once seen can't be erased after all since we can't filter it beforehand and conveniently decide whether it's real or not and then allow it in.

Even if Xbox preloaded content is considered safe, something unexpected can always happen and we have to be careful regardless ever since the game went gold. The game being available for preload only serves as a reminder of that.

Full digital leaks are server-side stuff-ups (eg. Nintendo and Color Splash) and really rare anyway, I've never heard of hackers decrypting such stuff deliberately before the official drop (I know the 3DS scene dosn't even bother with attempts).

Me neither, that's why I said I'm not too concerned about this being datamined. xD Because if that really was so easy, it would be done more often and then it wouldn't be offered for preload anymore, especially not this early.

The possibility is always there though. It's really slim but there's just no way to prevent it 100% from happening. I personally don't believe anyone would put in that kind of effort it would take for a game that comes out in less than two months. Admittedly, I know very little about datamining but considering how long it took for them to find assets in 0.2, I doubt it's a process that can be done in one night or even days.

In the end I believe gaming companies and those associated with them are trying hard enough to keep their paid content from leaking. It cannot be prevented in all cases, but people would need a lot of determination and know-how to try that and then even have the motivation of spreading it.

It's okay. It's okay. All I have to do is avoid spoilers until mid-February. So, starting from next week, no more youtube, no more news-site and no more discord.

I can do this. (Wish youtube had some kind of filter that hides videos with certain key words like "Kingdom Hearts", "Secret boss" or "Death scene".)

That's an overreaction. I'm seriously doubting someone's seriously gonna break into the game through the encryption process on the games.

It's about 35 GB. Not 10 MB.

The file size analysis is really stupid and weird. How can anyone tell 35GB means there's no more worlds to show. What?! If you don't know what you're talking about, probably best not to say anything. I don't think anyone could look at the file size and be able to make any conclusions from it ha. At best you could maybe look at other games and see how many assets you could fit in a similar sized package, but even that isnt really a realistic comparison.

It's likely smaller because they don't need to put as many pre rendered videos in anymore. Also compression is a thing.

However... Wow what a sight to see :').

I am really considering double dipping for PS4 and X1 version. Maybe triple dipping so I have digital on both and the physical deluxe edition for PS4.. And I'd probably dip again if they made a PC version and/Or switch version if possible.

Exactly, plus people are forgetting that some pretty big  games were only around that size, like The Witcher 3 for example, which was only 35 GB when it launched on PS4 (here's a link to article showing it, in case anyone is interested: http://www.mweb.co.za/games/view/tabid/4210/Article/17974/The-Witcher-3-Wild-Hunt-file-size-is-not-a-monster.aspx

But,but they said its very safe and you can believe them because every system they have put up before git haxked eventually.

Jokes aside i Hope people atleast habe the decency to give their videos titles like "you wont believe what happens in the last level" instead of " major hardcore Spoiler he dies lol screw you"
