Happy Good Friday, all!
And a Good Friday to you, too:) I will forever love my Lord Jesus Christ for dying on the cross to save us all from our sins on this day. It was a gift that none could have asked for, and a gift given to us all the same. I love you, my Lord. And I will cherish and serve you always.

Who was guiding Sora in his first awakening in Deep Dive?
Though Nomura originally said it was Mickey in the KHI Ultimania, I don't think that’s true now. Nomura could have, after all, changed the idea, seeing as how it was never addressed in the games. Though it's true that Mickey guiding Data Sora in Re:Coded—and seems to have Riku in KHI, if a certain FM scene is anything to go by—I think it's safe to say it was Ven who guided Sora in KHI. Here's why I say this: For one, when Sora and Ventus are talking towards the beginning of BbS, when they both say "Open the Door", Sora's voice can be heard alongside Ven's. This could be a hint that Ven might guide Sora in the future (the way Sora once did him). The fact that Ven's armor tries to protect Sora from the Darkness in DDD might also be a hint. Something else I noticed is how in Sora and Ven's discussion at the beginning of BbS, Sora says, "Where am I?" To that, Ven then says, "Who's there?" That scene is parallel to one in KH2 where Sora once again says, "Where am I?" to Roxas', "Who's there?" Maybe Nomura's hinting that Sora and Ven (and Roxas does have Ven's heart) talk a lot by doing that? IDK. It could mean nothing and just be a cool parallel Nomura made. But at the same time, who really knows? But for consistency sake, I'd prefer it if Ven was the guiding voice. And in case you don't know which parallel lines I'm talking about, here's videos of them:

Is Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus any good?
Oh, god. I was SO bad at using the battle system, but that's probably more of my problem, as I'm not a shooter type of gal (the camera is pretty awful, though). But for the most part, I liked DoC a lot. It shines a light on some of the earliest things in the FFVII universe, as well as the latest, since it takes place AC, but has a lot of flashbacks about Vincent's past. That's actually what made that game for me. Seeing all that went down between Vincent, Hojo, and Lucrecia... just epic (it helps that I ship VincentxLucrecia...). Experiencing ShinRa Manor again? Freakin' amazing! I definitely think it's worth twenty bucks. LOL. Especially since someday Square might make another FFVII game based off the secret ending. And for some reason, I enjoyed all of the minor characters of FFVII taking the lead this time, where as the main characters sort of took a break. LOL. Also, I love Tifa's phone call to Vincent. So funny!

Figuring Out Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy X. That game was designed for starters, as the main character is taken to a world he's never known and has the concepts explained to him. The others expect you to have more common knowledge than that. Plus, it was the last of the golden era and the story, characters, music, and gameplay are amazing. And there's no denying that Tidus and Yuna had one of the best romances in the games. Also, FFX was the first to do a lot of things: have amazing graphics, voice acting, the ability to switch party members during battle, etc. X was also the first game to have a direct sequel, and in that sequel have the first girl main protagonist. X was amazing in many ways, and as it was my first FF, I say it's a great place to start. Gotta love the PS2 games:) I've played that game many times, and it never gets old. It's simply beautiful.

What is the deal with Roxas
Because when Sora turned into a Heartless, Ven's heart stayed in his fading body. So when his body became his Nobody (Roxas), Roxas ended up unknowingly housing Ventus' heart. That explains the Roxas and Ventus thing. Now to your next question:) As for why Sora looks like Ven, Sora linked his heart with Ven when he was, literally, born, and so that probably had an affect on Sora's development. And technically, Sora and Roxas could have co-existed. As it was revealed in DDD, Roxas grew his own heart (plus having Ven's in him) and more or less was his own person. The only reason he had to return to Sora was because he unintentionally absorbed some of the memories he needed to wake up. Yeah...

Final Fantasy versus 13 coming= kh3 in full development
Wasn't FFXV (formerly known as Agni's Philosophy) announced for the PS4 at an event yesterday? I'm not sure if that's true, but I heard that rumor somewhere. And they did do that with FFXIII, but Square's gotten a bit better at not announcing things too early lately. I would hope they wouldn't make another blunder like the Versus one, when Versus isn't even out yet, and they have other games lined up first. And didn't some Square-Enix executive say this was going to be a Versus year? My hope and money is on Versus XIII. Don't f up again, Square. I'm losing my faith in you. And I am going to hope that they've at least begun something on KHIII. I know in an interview long ago, Nomura said that they wouldn't work on it until the Versus team (the old, main KH team) had the chance to, but that was a long time ago and I have to believe circumstances have changed. Square would have to want to slit their own throats if they haven't started even early stage things. I mean, as Nomura said, the Osaka team pretty much is the KH team now, and Square's said they want to get games released faster, so... Hopefully KHIII will be released in Japan in 2015, and Versus this year, maybe? (Being hopeful...)

A Few Questions About the Kingdom Hearts Series?
Well, Terra performed the Rite of Succession on him in BbS (and Aqua accidentally did with Kairi, too), and his heart was strong enough, so he gained the ability to wield one. Anywho, when Riku's heart was weakened by him choosing the Darkness, the Keyblade went to Sora instead (and has stayed there for the most part), but he later proved himself enough to reclaim his rite, and thus his Soul Eater sword morphed into Way to Dawn (I think Way to Dawn was originally Soul Eater, anyway). Hope this helps

A Few Questions About the Kingdom Hearts Series?
Oh, boy. Let's see if I can answer some of these for you. And maybe later I'll post in your other forum about what's happened in the series since KHII; I don't have enough time right now. Sora isn't a normal Keyblade wielder because he never had the Rite of Succession performed on him. In the end, he got his own Keyblade (Kingdom Key: the one that was originally meant for Riku, but chose Sora for good when he proved how strong his heart was during the "my friends are my power" speech in KHI). Anyway, Sora is definitely a rare case, and wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of this if he didn't have the ability to connect with anyone, but he is a true Keyblade wielder, and Kingdom Key is definitely his now. (Not Ven's or Riku's, like some have speculated.) So in short, even when he loses Ven's heart from within him, he'll still be able to wield. As for Nami's hair color... it's not really known. She is also a special case. And since Axel was reading "The Truth About Naminé" in Days, I'm not even sure she's really a Nobody. That's just the best thing they have to call her. Anyway, some speculate her hair's that color because she might have ties to Ven. And because Roxas is her "twin" Nobody (as they were both created from Sora). There's also the fact that Kairi's a PoH to consider. As Kairi's a being of all Light, that might explain Naminé's light appearance. Well, from what we know from other Heartless/Nobody counterparts in the series, I think she'd be fine. But then again, who really knows? Kairi and Naminé's case is very odd. It really doesn't make sense how Naminé even exists, but I'd say Kairi would be fine. Especially since Naminé gained a heart and became her own person. She just needs to be freed from Kairi, and all should be well. For the most part, Roxas and Naminé are just living in Sora and Kairi after KHII. You do see them in Sora's "dream" in DDD, though (among a few other instances). Well, I think it might have been Xion and not Naminé, but whatev. And at this point, its mostly certain they're going to come back as their own people in KHIII. And no, I really don't think Terra's the Guardian at all. According to the KH3D novel (I think it was the novel, anyway), Xemnas is Terra. He just doesn't have any memories of being him, but has Xehanort's. Keep in mind that hasn't been confirmed (as the novel isn't strictly canon), but it wouldn't be the first time the novel spilled a big truth early. And frankly, I think that makes a lot of sense. Well, I hope I was able to help you:) If you have more questions, let me know! I'm one of the most knowledgeable fans around (as I've been with KH from the beginning, have played all the games, stay up to date on everything, read all the Nomura interviews, etc.) Anyway, I'd be happy to help ya if I can! -Shan P.S. Take everything on the KH wiki with a grain of salt. It's wrong a lot of the time. For instance, it said (and still might) that Xion was an imperfect Replica of Roxas, when really she was one of Sora. Yeah...

Kingdom Hearts X Theories
Pretty much everything you said's already been confirmed. However, this game is not canon at all, and everything in it should be taken lightly. And we may not even really get any info story wise in it, anyway. Think of this as the first true spin-off in the KH series. It's a game that's meant to be fun and pass time, but not taken too seriously, as it has really nothing to do with/contribute the other games.

What is Final Fantasy?!
All the numbered Final Fantasy games are a series of fantasy, strategy based, and turn based RPGs. There are a ton of them because each game stands on its own: meaning that the story, worlds, and characters are usually completely different. The only time this isn't true is if a particular title has a prequel, sequel, or spin-off to it. So for the most part, you can play any of the Final Fantasy games from wherever you want, and don't have to worry about anything. Mainly what ties FF games together are just recurring things in all of them: the summons, guys named Cid, job classifications, etc. And as for a little trivia about Final Fantasy, the reason why there's so many of them is not only because they're Square's biggest money maker/polished games, but because Squaresoft was about to go out of business... and decided to release one last game "Final Fantasy". Obviously, the game was a huge success, and more than saved the company, thus it became its own franchise. Anyway, if anyone is looking to start the series, I say start at FFX for many reasons. A) because its a spectacular game, and the last game of Square's "golden age", but also because it is more up to date with today's games than even FFIX was. For more information about the series, I'd suggest watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stq4woCoVRA

Where did Namine get her name from?
I assume the Organization named her when they found her. Anyway, her name is derived from the Japanese word "Nami" meaning "ocean wave" whereas Kairi's name (or rather, "Kai") means "sea". It's the same way Aqua's name is Latin for "water", and Xion's name means "tide". Anyway...

Is it just me, or is Final Fantasy IX greatly underrated?
IX is the best, in my opinion, for many reasons. First of all, all the characters are amazing and likable. The story is great, and contrary to what outsiders would guess, it's one of the darkest FF stories. It has great parallels to Cain and Abel, etc. Kuja accomplished so much, and Zidane and Garnet are my favorite FF couple. Their love was real, beautiful, and didn't detract from the story, but rather added to it. Garnet is one of the strongest, best female characters I've ever seen. She grew so much, and even in her "damsel in distress" moments, I still felt she was a force to be reckoned with. She was strong-willed and capable, and she didn't need a sword to be powerful. FFIX is absolutely beautiful. It is a depiction of life itself, and brings real questions to the table. Like: just because you're a thief, does that mean you're evil? It's these reasons that have made IX my favorite, and why I'll always cherish it. Plus, Zidane is a total badass. Just listen to what TV tropes said about him. "Finding out that he's an alien? Meh. Reveal that he was supposed to be Kuja's nastier successor? Annoying, but he'll still cite the Power of Friendship before charging the apparent Big Bad. Having his soul ripped out by said Big Bad to make him more pliable? He'll wangst out his nose, stagger around like a drunk, push away his friends... and still go after the guy who was responsible for everything." Seriously. Zidane is amazing. And you don't need a reason to help people. LOL. FFIX is amazing. It teaches you great life lessons, has awesome side characters with back stories, beautiful secondary pairings, fantastic music, etc. And the "You're Not Alone" segment. That part... If only KH could have a scene as epic as that in KHIII, or something. And I love the parallels! Like just listen to what Zidane says here: "What do you think his father did when he came home? ...The father raised his fist and beat the son he had worked so hard to raise... But you know what surprised him even more? The father smiled, after beating up his son! Can you believe that? He just gave his son a beating. But this was what the man thought when he saw his father smiling...'This is my home. This is the place I call home.'" And you know that's exactly what Zidane's thinking when he's embracing Dagger at the end (and she's pounding on his chest). Just... so many feelings. So many! IX is truly a spectacular game, and I truly hope we'll see it in KH--or a remake of it--someday... And this amazing video here pretty much sums up all my feelings on IX, and just what it is. I only hope I can carry on the lessons that game and Zidane taught me for all of my life. That would be more than enough in thanks for this moving game.

FF Name Change.
Well, since everyone's explained the story reason for Squall changing his name (and that "Aeris" was a translation mistake), I'll explain the creators' reason for changing "Squall" to "Leon". Basically? They wanted it to be a surprise for FF fans to see Squall appear in Traverse Town, and since the surprise would have been spoiled if you read in Mickey's letter "go find Squall", they decided to change his name to "Leon", so fans could get the full weight of his appearance in that cutscene.

The Secret Movie
Actually, I think BbS, Re:Coded, and DDD all say the "Reconnect" thing. Days seems to be the only recent game that hasn't (though it's understandable to me why it wouldn't have). Though I get why people think "Reconnect" is III (and it could be), I always took it to mean "Connect this new information you just learned with everything else you know, to see the big picture." But that might just be my interpretation. -shrugs- Anyway, I'm pretty sure III's the next game (after the HD Remixes and aside from the PC browser game, of course).

The Official "Once Upon a Time" Discussion Thread
I love OUaT! And Rumbelle is just made of win:) And tonight's episode was pretty dang good (as always)! Although, I am a bit miffed that they pulled an amnesia thing with Belle (it's so overdone in things!), but meh.

Have you spent any time recently playing a KH game?
I've been replaying Days, since after the theater mode of it is released... I'll probably never play it again, tbh (unless I want to do Mission Mode, or the Remaster leaves out scenes I liked). But you know, I'm actually glad I'm replaying it; I'm enjoying it immensely. And I'd forgotten just how much I love 358/2 Days. It's a great game! And I'm sad I let the haters alter my views on it somewhat. It reminds me of what happened to me with XIII-2. Maybe I should just stop reading other people's views on games I like... Anyway, replaying Days has been a lot of fun, and I can't wait for HD Remix to come out. I'm going to have a Days movie night with my friends (among other things)!

Sora's Kingdom Key and the X-Blade?
Well, Sora is one of the Seven Lights that broke off of the true/original X-Blade... Mickey, too, of course.

Kingdom Keepers - series discussion
If I ever finish the A Song of Ice and Fire (aka A Game of Thrones) series, I might just add it to my list. But as I read a lot, it'll probably be a long while before I get to them. It's refreshing to know it's not a KH ripoff, though. From what I'd heard of it, I thought it would be...
-
What was your first KH game?
I first played KHI ten years ago. I've been with the series from the beginning, and boy am I glad I have! It could have been difficult to play catch up. LOL. But in all seriousness, it's nice being a KH veteran.

This Leads to Kingdom Hearts
Also, when Sora and Riku walk into the light, it looks like a "III". So, yes. It's saying it leads to Kingdom Hearts III.

Winter is Coming
Yes, yes A Song of Ice and Fire is amazing, and one of my favorite series, too. And you're right. It's absolutely golden (or as you said, it has many gems). Though the books are pretty long (I'm starting to feel like I'll never finish the series because of it!) I know it'll be more than worth it in the end... Even if a lot of my favorite characters will probably die a horrible, horrible death (I should have listened when people told me not to like anyone in GoT). In fact, this fanfiction http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8292649/1/Armour my friend Dani wrote (who's the one who got me into the series) is probably how Arya will die, should that end up happening. And it probably will, honestly. And here's a detailed post about the Rhaegar/Lyanna theory, if you're interested. http://www.angelfire.com/ma4/mlarchives/faq/jon.html They did a very good job with it, and after reading that, it just somehow seems right. Plus, if Jon Snow is the blood of the dragon and a Stark of Winterfell, it would explain the name "A Song of Ice and Fire". And don't worry about spoilers with me. LOL. I've already spoiled myself quite a bit, but I'd understand if you don't want to spoil it for other people here. Also, speaking of the awesomeness that is Dany and her casting, have you seen this video? If not, you should go watch it now. LOL. -Shanna

Winter is Coming
Yes! Finally someone on this site who knows Game of Thrones:) I was beginning to think I was the only one! And I'm currently reading A Clash of Kings. I haven't watched the show yet (as I at least want to finish the first two books first), but what I've seen of the show via amvs... It's amazing. They're really doing it justice, and I'm sure season three will be great! Especially since I've heard A Storm of Swords is when some of the character arcs really begin to soar. And I do like Tyrion, but my top favorites are probably Arya Stark (I would so be her if I lived in Westeros!), Jon Snow, and Daenerys Targaryen. JonxDany shipping ftw! But I like a ton of the characters, actually. They're just so human... Yes, I think of a lot of them as monsters at times, but you can't help but love them. Especially the Starks (though they aren't really monsters at all)! Also, what do you think of the Rhaegar and Lyanna being Jon Snow's parents theory? I actually have to say it makes a lot of sense after reading up on it. And knowing how amazing a plot twist it would be if Jon Snow was the blood of the dragon (the ice dragon Jon Snow. LOL.), I really hope it's true! And here's some awesome GoT amvs I've found if you're interested. Like, this one's about the Rhaegar/Lyanna theory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWrFRMpnDAA. This one's all an amazing tribute to the first season http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBSWPtGXZp0, and this is a parody vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rapo0h-RDnk. LOL.

What part of KH HD 1.5 ReMIX are you most excited about?
I'll have to say it's a bit of 1 and 6 both: seeing Days like a movie, and playing KHIFM for the first time. Both those things are going to make me really happy, and are equally great in my opinion:)
-
Just how much do you like Kairi?
I like her a lot, actually. Since KHI, I've been rooting for her to be awesome (because she was very cool and interesting in the first game), and to end up with Sora. LOL. But I like her for reasons other than shipping. She's sweet, vibrant, feisty (I love that!), and she'd do anything for her friends. Really, I don't think there's anything wrong with Kairi at all. It's just Nomura hasn't written her well (yet). And I have to say, I don't like the later games as much, since she's not in them. Rather you like her or not, there's no denying she possesses a certain charm, and adds at least something to the series. And also, KHII (for instance) just seemed so much more personal, since Sora was trying to save Kairi. DDD, when the guys were just taking their test... I didn't care, to be honest. I feel like the only moments I cared about in 3D were: the TWEWY cast moments, and towards the ending, when it became so epic. Another thing: Kairi (and the slight romance between her and Sora) adds a much needed Disney dosage, which, frankly... The games need again. I don't know? I just like Kairi. And to tell the truth, she used to be my favorite character (mainly because we're both girls, so we relate in that way, and because I'm not arrogant enough to ever think I could be like Sora). So the hate and dislike for Kairi really confuzzles me. Once again, her only problem is she hasn't done much, but I think that'll be remedied soon. And you know, now that I think about it... I think I'm beginning to like Kairi more than Aqua. Like Sora and Riku walked the same paths as Ven and Terra, but made better choices... I think Kairi will do the same when she gets the chance. For instance, Kairi's already shown she's not as judgmental about Riku's Darkness, like Aqua was Terra's (actually, she isn't judgmental about it at all), and since that was Aqua's worst moment, and Kairi's already overcome it... I think there are a lot of good things in her future. Actually Aqua and Kairi have a ton in common. And I think a lot of their similarities are overlooked. I usually wouldn't do this, but here's a fanfiction of mine I'd recommend reading. It's actually my best work (which is why I'm not self-conscious about it for once), and I really think it shows a lot of Aqua and Kairi's connection, and that she easily can make her Master proud. Also, I think it gives good insight into what she was undoubtedly thinking through all of KHI, so here's a link if you're curious in reading it. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8610791/1/One-Sky-One-Destiny And as for ratings, she's probably my third favorite girl (after Xion and Aqua). She's definitely before Naminé for me. I just have issues with some of the things Nami's done, personally (and though I do love the girl, it irks me that she gets so much praise, and that everyone thinks she's an angel when... she's anything but, but that's a story for another time). And along with everyone else, Kairi's probably... My seventh favorite character after Sora, Xion, Roxas, Aqua, Riku, and Terra. So in conclusion, I love Kairi a ton, and I don't think she deserves all the criticism she gets. Really, everything "wrong" with her is Nomura's fault (since she’s just a character; not a real person), so please just try to put yourself in her shoes--and allow her to finally defend herself in KHIII, before you make your judgments--thank you.

Can we have a Moment of Silence
Oh my lovely first gaming system. And, of course, the console that first brought us our beloved KH! You have served us well, PS2. But now, you can rest knowing that KH will soon be in good hands: the hands of your successor (and there'll be other great games for it too). It's been some great years with the PS2, and man am I glad I got into it, and gaming. I truly hope that my PS2 lasts for a very, very long time...
