- "DragonBall FighterZ" (PS4/XB1/PC)
Believe me, this will be a different experience, especially for you. As I mentioned in the post, this is closer to the original Budokai games that came out around the same time as BT, which are more complex in terms of button input and all that and therefore more closer to legitimate fighters, which is fitting given that this is a developer that does in fact make legitimate fighters as well.- What's your favorite Donald moment in Kingdom Hearts?
- Erased is a good anime. Has anyone seen it or want to see it?
@Neptune Not yet, but have I have heard about that as well. Considering how much I enjoyed the anime, I'm sure it'll be a good read.- Erased is a good anime. Has anyone seen it or want to see it?
I did. Haven't gotten to the dub yet, but I saw the original sub when it first came out and I really enjoyed it.- One Piece: Redux Romance [CLOSED]
- "DragonBall FighterZ" (PS4/XB1/PC)
Source (Note: this information was leaked early as the official announcement was scheduled for June 12. No confirmation if there will be further news at the upcoming E3 but there is a possibility) Confirmed characters so far (ala these screenshots): A brand new DragonBall game is in our midsts, ladies and gentleman, and it is not a sequel to the Xenoverse franchise. No instead, this is a 2.5D fighter accurately named "DragonBall FighterZ" developed by Arc Systems Works, the development team behind the successful Guilty Gear and BlazBlue franchises, scheduled for worldwide release in early 2018. Arc System Works has a bit of a history of DragonBall as they developed the SuperSonic Warriors series of games way back in the years of 2004 and 2005, and also had a hand in the game Extreme Butoden released for the 3DS in 2015. This will be one of the first DragonBall 2D fighters (as well as the first ever 2.5D game) released for current generation consoles since Dimps released "DragonBall Z: Infinite World", the last official entry to the Budokai series, in 2008. As far as information on the game is concerned: Now personally: ... well, let's be honest, you already know I'm hyped. I still haven't haven't gotten on the XV2 train yet, but other than that, I'm a fairly well-versed aficionado in DragonBall games, especially the fighting game franchises. This game in particular, however, still feels like it will feel like a dive into a brand new experience, not only because of the 2.5D and other aspects concerning graphics and gameplay listed above, but also because this harkens back to a more traditional fighter that is more commonly seen related to DragonBall in the old school Butoden series of games, as well as other notable examples such as Hyper Dimension and Super DragonBall Z. However, I am also confident that ASW will deliver on their ambitions on "ultra high speed battles" and "flashy special moves" to fit the DragonBall experience because frankly, that is the only way to go when making a DragonBall fighter. I remember way back when, I used to harp on the games made by Dimps for just being Street Fighter clones, and you know what, I don't know what the Hell I was on about because Dimps knew exactly how to take the standard fighting game format and "DragonBall" it up. From Budokai to Shin Budokai to Burst Limit, whether or not you like any of those entries at all, they hit hard, they were fast-paced, and they truly made you believe you were not just a fighter, but a fighter from the DragonBall universe capable of throwing around energy beams and disappearing in and out sight to perform crushing high-speed combos. They knew how to make a DragonBall game exciting in a way that is true to the series while also making a competent fighter, and that is what I believe ASW is capable of doing with this game and why I look forward to future news. So what about you? Are you excited for another DragonBall game? Are you glad that the series is receiving another traditional fighter? Do you think this game has potential to be name-checked in the same vein as Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Injustice 2, Killer Instinct, etc.? Beautiful. Both Mercury and Kirkhope would be proud.- What if KH3 is rushed...
Better question: what leads you to believe that KH3 could possibly be rushed in the first place? Have you clued into the past 10 years or so, because if this game is rushed, then I guess it takes about 50 centuries for the perfect game to be made. No wonder publishers are so adamant about releasing unfinished games these days.- Share chat logs here!

~ SYNOPSIS ~ They called it the "Battle of Marineford", a colossal struggle between pirates and the World Government with the life of the son of Gol D. Roger on the line. The outcome changed the landscape of the entire world: Portgas D. Ace, the son of Roger, fell, and so did the fearsome and legendary captain Edward Newgate, aka "Whitebeard", who led his battalions into war against the Marines to save his fellow comrade. But because of Whitebeard's valiance, and his declaration to those who opposed him and revered him that the fabled treasure One Piece was, in face, real, countless souls from all over the seas joined the already collective pirate mass of the Grand Pirate Era and set their sights on taking the treasure for themselves, or for some, to make other dreams a reality. And who among these pirates dared to venture out, daring to go as far as to traverse the perilous landscape known as the New World? That's right... it's YOU! Come forward and begin your Romance Dawn!! ~ PIRATE'S LOG ~ Name: Gender: Race: Epitaph (nickname): Bounty: Role: Appearance: Devil Fruit: (if not using one, leave N/A) Haki: (read above) Abilities: (fighting style, special talents, etc.) Background: Dream: (to be a great pirate, to find a certain treasure other than One Piece, etc.) Sign the bottom of your sheet with a "WE ARE!" at the end to confirm you have read the synopsis as well as the following section below: ~RULES/POLICIES ~ All standard KH13 rules apply. Try to post as frequently as you can despite personal business getting in the way. The sign-ups thread doubles as a discussion thread. Feel free to converse with other players during downtime. Contact me in PM if you have a concern or query concerning the RP. This RP is rated PG-13. Mild swearing, violence, and sexual content is allowed, but don't go overboard. Do not God Mod. I expect fights to be creative and complex given the nature of the series, but don't just overpower everybody. Be fair and be respectful. Remember: this will be a crew of pirates led by me, the captain, so if make a decision in-story that requires the entirety of the crew's participation, I would advise you to follow it for the sake of the narrative. Not trying to limit people's creativity, but sometimes, you just gotta do it. For "Roles" section of log: everybody gets one. There can only be one navigator, one swordsman, one sniper, etc. If you're stuck on what role to be, feel free to be creative and choose a more unique role for yourself if you feel the standard ones don't apply to you. ~THE CREW SO FAR~ The Captain: Me- Why RXN deserve a happy ending
I understand how you feel. However, I stand by what I said earlier. Plus, now that I think about it, did we really understand that Roxas (and by proxy Namine too, but I'm focusing primarily on Roxas here) really accepted the "two become one" schtick in KHII? Like I mentioned, regardless of how narratively appropriate the ending might have been for them at the time of II, you could still make an argument that it's just as contrived as the stuff that comes after it, and I feel this is especially true for Roxas. Think about what happened after Axel died in II. Before then, we last saw Roxas sadly accepting his fate as a Nobody after the truth about the fake Twilight Town and his origins being revealed to him, as well as a small scene in the real Twilight Town (right before SDG go to the Mysterious Tower) where he clearly still pines for friendship with Hayner, Pence, and Ollette despite the circumstances regarding his knowledge/memories of them. So at this point, we can surmise he's at least somewhat complacent, but again, after Axel dies, we see Roxas trap Sora in his own subconscious in a last ditch attempt to test him. Roxas of course loses and becomes accepting of Sora being his "other"... but even so, what did he accomplish? Did he and Sora have a dialogue about their mortality? Did Sora try to reason with Roxas or apologize to him for Axel? Did Roxas try and explain his own past to Sora (again points to DDD)? No, they just had a fight scene (or if you're playing Final Mix, a ridiculously long mini-boss fight) and then he stays in Sora's head until he and him "merge" together. This is why I say the ending in II feels forced. Whatever lesson or moral that you can easily sympathize with in that instance, it still didn't have any narrative weight established for it other than "oh, might as well because hey, we've had enough angst from in this game from these two and it's not like we can share info from our backgrounds to the main characters or anything because, you know, mystery and junk". Roxas confronted Sora, got his ass kicked, and then just gave up. Heck, Namine didn't even fight anybody, she just pretty much rolled over for Kairi automatically, so she's got it worse.- Why i think Kingdom Hearts 3 will be at E3
Plot twist: No trailer, but BOTW DLC announced in the form of equipping Link with a Keyblade.- Why RXN deserve a happy ending
Definetly not something I would consider controversial as several other people want to see something happen as well. If by recent, you mean all the way back in the original Coded in '08, only a couple years after the original KHII. And you know, is it really a happy ending when two characters are forced to do the exact opposite of what they've been pining for three whole games (counting COM, Days and KHII in chronological order of course)? I'd say having them do what they did in KHII is what was forced in because that's clearly not what they want. Roxas established relationships with Axel and Xion and his memories of the Twilight Town gang are clearly still intact, meanwhile Namine began growing her own desires to be with people after the fiasco with Castle Oblivion and later with interacting with Riku, Roxas, etc. Now, I'm not trying to completely dress down their actions near the end of II, because for the time it did make sense and they were noble about it and whatever. But all of that felt like a "in the moment" kind of thing, not something that would completely satisfy their personal motivations for anything more than temporary. They are still characters connected to Sora and people he can help. You can see it clearly with Roxas and Sora in their scene with DDD. Roxas is acting all strange and oddly happy while Sora is trying to convince him that he's his own person, which he is. He had experiences outside of being a Nobody, but he's too caught up with his own mortality to see that he can be so much more. I'm sure Namine feels the same and needs the same coaching from Sora to get her out of it, too. As for Xion... well, I'll be honest, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are in regards to her character, so I can't really comment on that.- All this Pokeymanz talk reminds me of my aborted Yellow playthrough. @Xiro @Shulk I demoted myself, but yes, the Sensei Era is over.- What is your favorite Wallace and Gromit feature?
Definetly The Wrong Trousers. It's a iconic short that is quintessential to understanding the appeal of the W&G oeuvre. I haven't seen the Curse of the Were-Rabbit in a while, but I remember really enjoying that when it first came out.- All this Pokeymanz talk reminds me of my aborted Yellow playthrough. Man, I need a Game Boy...
@Xiro GameStop doesn't even sell Game Boys.- Who do you think the Winner will be at E3 2017?
There's been a lot of back-and-forth on whether or not a new Sly game will come, but the possibility is still out there. As it should too because if you've played Thieves in Time, you'd know that leaving the series as is would be just a crime against nature.- All this Pokeymanz talk reminds me of my aborted Yellow playthrough. Man, I need a Game Boy...
That's probably the smarter option if I want to have a chance at trading and completing the Pokedex.- Who do you think the Winner will be at E3 2017?
Oh man, I completely phased out the possibility of Sucker Punch showing off a new inFAMOUS game. I haven't played Second Son yet, but I'd still be hyped for it. Then again, I probably didn't think about it in the first place because damn it, WENSLY5- All this Pokeymanz talk reminds me of my aborted Yellow playthrough. Man, I need a Game Boy...
