  1. That's too bad. Vesperia is probably my second favorite under Symphonia. There is a PS3 version of it, but it's Japan-only. I know some fans were trying to make a patch for it at one point. Not sure how far along it is. For all I know, Namco might eventually try to localize it. They've had plenty of games brought to America extremely late. But I won't hold my breath.Berseria looks pretty cool. Can't wait to learn more about it.
  2. Always awesome seeing some love for the Tales series. :)I got my start with Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube. It was actually the game that first got me into video games.I never would have played Kingdom Hearts if it hadn't been for ToS.There's a remastered version of ToS out for PS3 which also includes the sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (originally for Wii).I also highly recommend Tales of the Abyss for PS2 and Tales of Vesperia for Xbox 360.
  3. That's not completely true. Johnny Depp didn't voice Jack Sparrow, and Robin Williams didn't voice the Genie. And I'm sure there were some others who didn't reprise their roles that could have if they'd wanted to.
  4. My favorite is in 3D when Sora's heart is about to be lost to the darkness, but Ventus's armor appears around him and protects him.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzBjgG6CyZ4
  5. Though I understand why Sora's younger self was used in DDD, I will never understand why they've made his younger character model so unbearably short. There's nothing wrong with being short, but I find it distracting that he's even smaller than Roxas and Xion, both of whom are extremely short themselves...
  6. You have a very nice voice for Ansem, certainly. It may be a bit to heavy and deep for Braig, sadly, though you do a pretty good job portraying him. The only thing I'd suggest for Ansem is the you need to pronounce every letter very clearly. Instead of "little" you almost say "liddle".Or "completely" sounds more like "compleely". This isn't bad, it's just distracting when portraying Ansem. For Braig, it doesn't hurt at all. It really depends on the character. Overall, very nice impressions. :)I'd love to see your impression of Terra. Maybe even Saix, Eraqus, or Yen Sid. Keep up the good work!
  7. If we decide to go by the English interpretation instead of Japanese, then I think the most likely meaning would be "Why did Axel choose you?"After all, Axel had been trying to turn Sora into a Heartless in order to get Roxas back. But then he changed his mind and helped Sora instead. Roxas might have felt betrayed. Even Roxas's best friend chose Sora over him. It's possible this is what the English translators were referring to.
  8. I thought it was reasonably enjoyable. But I suppose most people have an issue with it because what happens is mostly pointless. Data Sora and Data Riku aren't real, so it doesn't matter much when they grow and learn. We're not expecting to see them again outside of this game. And everything that happens to them and the journal world is also not real, so there isn't much incentive to invest in the story. As a stand alone game, it probably could have worked better. Because it was attached to a series, it put a lot of people off.I imagine that if the game had been totally unrelated to Kingdom Hearts, with its own characters and settings, then it would have felt more fun and interesting. And the characters would have been easier to sympathize with because they aren't just copies of established characters. But alas, we must settle for the game we got and enjoy it for what it is.
  9. I've only ever played Fire Emblem Awakening, so maybe I have no room to talk. But as someone who was completely new to the series before playing it, I'd REALLY recommend it. I've gotten so many hours of joy out of that game. It's also just really great for beginners to the series.
  10. My understanding is that it was the door that led to the heart of Destiny Islands. Riku was able to see its keyhole, but Sora wasn't. I believe I read somewhere that Ansem tricked Riku into opening the door so the heartless were able to get inside and corrupt the world. I may be wrong, it's been ages since I read about it.
  11. Symphonia. But Vesperia isn't too far behind it.
  12. Such a difficult choice... I love Aqua, Terra, and Ventus so much... But I must go with Axel, Roxas, and Xion.
  13. I think you misunderstood me. I realize Sora was never in the Land of Departure. But that's precisely my point. Four years going by in the Destiny Islands, and almost no time going by in LoD would suggest that DI's time flow is faster, wouldn't it? I'm not saying that Ventus's lack of a heart ISN'T the cause, but I don't believe it's the only cause. There are other characters besides Ventus who still have their hearts but haven't aged in a logical way either. Again, this is all just my personal opinion. Feel free to disagree. This is just the theory that satisfies me the most.
  14. I personally believe that it's because the flow of time is slower in CO (Land of Departure) than most other worlds. Sora grew from a baby to a four-year-old at the beginning of BBS, and Ventus, Terra, and Aqua didn't age much if at all over those 4 years.
  15. In Chain of Memories and Days, it is suggested that Sora was actually fine without Roxas at first. Though the part of him that is Roxas was missing, it wasn't absolutely necessary that he get him back. But over time, Roxas started to absorb Sora's memories (because of Namine messing with his memories in Castle Oblivion), and those memories got trapped inside of Xion, too. Then it was suddenly imperative that Sora get those memories back. It was also implied that Namine COULD have taken the time to sort out Sora's memories and remove them from Roxas and Xion, but that it would have taken a LONG time. So in the end, Namine, DiZ, and Riku decided that the quickest solution was for Roxas and Xion to both be returned to Sora. At least, this is what I got out of it.
  16. I realize that the term was initially only used to describe OCs in fanfiction. But you can't deny that over time the term has broadened. This Kingdom Hearts forum should be proof.I've lost count of how many KH fans I've seen declare Xion to be a Mary Sue.Right now, at this given time, Mary Sues are being applied to both OCs and canon characters.I understand what you're trying to say, but words don't have concrete meanings. They're shaped by how people use them. So I must respectfully disagree. I believe the term Mary Sue can be applied to canon characters.
  17. What you said can apply as well. But I think that may be closer to a Damsel in Distress than a Mary Sue.That's just my opinion, of course.
  18. A character (usually female, as others have mentioned) who are well-liked by pretty much every important character in the plot even if they don't know them well and have very few characters flaws, coming off as a little TOO perfect. A Mary-Sue also tends to have a very unoriginal personality, falling into common character archetypes.
  19. I'm indifferent towards him, personally.I never thought that all that many fans had a super deep love for the guy either. Maybe I'm wrong.I mean, I find him okay. But not that interesting. His situation is very, very sad and depressing, don't get me wrong. I feel for the guy. He has my condolences. Sucks to be him. But just his personality by itself didn't really draw me in at all. He's very bland. All I really ever remember about him is that he takes his friend's concerns about him far too personally, and he is severely naive when it comes to the villains.
  20. As others have said, their separation is unlikely to affect Sora so drastically. Perhaps there will be a few noticeable personality changes. After all, Ventus's personality seemed to have been affected by Sora's in Birth by Sleep. They shared several mannerisms, convictions, and character traits. Though it's hard to say whether or not it wasn't really Sora being affected by Ventus all along... However, their hearts still seem to be separate, despite their dependence on one another.I'm personally more concerned about Ventus's heart once it is no longer being safe guarded by Sora. Will he manage on his own with a damaged heart? Will Vanitas's half be restored as well? And what happens to Sora's heart if Roxas and Xion's hearts have also been freed from inside him? That, to me, sounds like it would damage Sora's heart far more than the loss of Ventus's heart.Still, anything could happen. It leaves room for a lot of interesting speculation.
  21. Hmm, it's heavily implied that she will be saved in some way both in Coded and Dream Drop Distance. Xion, as well as Axel, Roxas, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and Namine. Axel, of course, has already been revived, and it's not hard to see how Aqua and Ventus will be rescued. Terra, Namine, Roxas, and Xion are the tricky ones... It's hard to say how exactly Sora will be able to help Xion. Unless I am mistaken, Ansem the Wise left some data within Sora that is supposed to be the key to reviving all of them. Hopefully they'll explain it in more detail in KH 3. Whether she already had her own heart, a heart just made up of Sora's memories, or no heart at all during her beginning months working with the Organization, Xion had certainly developed her own unique heart by the end of Days.
  22. From what I've seen, like in the scene with Aqua talking to Ansem the Wise in the Realm of Darkness and the scene showing Ventus at the end of KH 3D, it appears that they haven't aged much, if at all. However, it seems like the writers tried to give a little bit of an explanation for that in KH 3D. Riku mentions to Joshua that many worlds have either slower or faster flows of time than other worlds. After all, if you look at Birth By Sleep, Ventus first arrived in the Land of Departure shortly after Sora was first born. But the next time we see Sora, he's already 4 years old. This is odd because Ventus, Terra, and Aqua all look to be the same age that they were when Sora was first born. This may suggest that the flow of time in the Land of Departure is much slower than the flow of time on the Destiny Islands. It would also appear that Terra, or at least his body, HAS aged. Since Xemnas is supposed to be his body, he does look to be many years older.Perhaps that suggests that Radiant Garden and the World that Never Was have a similar time flow to the Destiny Islands.Or perhaps the creators realized that they messed up the timeline and tried to make a reasonable excuse for it.The world may never know.
  23. I always laugh when I hear someone saying that Xion is a Mary Sue. She's not my favorite character, don't get me wrong. And I don't dislike her either. But to me, it seems silly to say that she's a Mary Sue, as if she's the only one. When comparing her to Kairi or Namine, she's probably the least Mary Sue-ish out of all of them.Only Aqua may be less of a Mary Sue than Xion, in my personal opinion. Kingdom Hearts seems to have a tendency to produce female characters that are a little too perfect and not very interesting when it comes to personality.Xion's not the first to fall victim to this.I will agree, the story with Xion seemed to be a bit rushed in. I don't think anyone argues that. They obviously came up with her character and story arc very last minute. Still, I found her situation and her story to be very interesting. I personally don't mind that the game chose to focus on Roxas, Axel, and Xion and touch very little on the rest of the members. Axel is my personal favorite. Anything with him in it makes me happy. And the story of Days is one of my absolute favorites in the series. Only topped, in my opinion, by BBS.I think I really liked it because they focused a lot more on character development and character interactions than they have in other KH games. After all, in other games, Sora has to rush from world to world trying to save everybody. The worlds are in dire peril and it's up to him to save them before time runs out.But Days has a very relaxed feeling. Roxas doesn't have to rush out to save the world. He doesn't have to go out on a dangerous quest. He simply has to grow and interact and learn about the world and about himself.I suppose I like stories like that. And I suppose that's why I really only started to love Kingdom Hearts after playing 358/2 Days.
  24. Namine wasn't just born form Kairi. Princesses of Heart can't produce Nobodies. Otherwise Princess Aurora would have made a Nobody in Birth By Sleep. They also don't turn into Heartless when they lose their hearts. So how was Namine created?Kairi's heart was trapped inside of Sora. When it was released from Sora's body, Kairi's heart created a Nobody: Namine. This is why Namine has so much power over Sora and his memories. She's almost as much Sora's Nobody as she is Kairi's in a way.Perhaps she has her blonde hair because she took a bit of her appearance from Ventus like Roxas did. But of course, it's hard to say for sure.
  25. It's a toss up between BBS and 358/2 Days.Sometimes BBS is my absolute favorite, other times its Days. They're both so awesome, it's hard to decide.Every time I finish them, they leave me with chills.I love games that get me so invested in the story and so attached to the characters.
