  1. The Ven being in KH1 as the voice is a weak argument because Mickey is also a disembodied voice to Riku. And one could argue that Coded proves that it was Mickey during the tutorial dive ("That voice again" he says when Mickey speaks to him in Destiny Islands). What about Xion in KH2? Are you referring to the 1 second of a hooded figure in Roxas' Dive into the Heart segment? That character model is Roxas', implying it's his Shadow, like Sora's in KH1. I'm not trying to pick a fight, and I'm not saying you're wrong or that these won't be true later on, but my point is is that when these scenes were being CREATED, it is unlikely that they were ORIGINALLY planned to foreshadow characters created 8 to 15 years later. Ven, Terra, and Aqua only appeared as I ideas in KH2, not 1. Days was designed to erase Xion from existence to fit with the fact that there is no mention of her in 2. BUT the games Days, BBS, Coded, 3D, 0.2 and Back Cover/X all hints at each other. My point is that we need to stop looking into 1 and 2 for details in relation to Days onward. It's a wild goose chase.
  2. I also have a problem with this solely because it's reading into something that from the beginning was NOT planned to be read this way. It's the same thing when people wonder (some of them joke, yes) why Ven's heart wasn't seen when Sora sacrificed himself, or looking for clues for Xion in KH2. There is no way Nomura designed the doves and the white flowers to be related to Lauriam or Strelitzia when those characters weren't even an idea yet. I'm not saying they couldn't be eventually, but people need to put some of these ideas and errors in story into context of when they came out before wondering why some things don't make sense. I love KH and its story, and I have fun piecing together all the convoluted stuff, but this insistence of attributing details that are 10 to 15 years apart together is getting ridiculous. Ven wasn't an idea in KH1, Xion probably wasn't an idea in KH2, Lauriam and Strelitza were without at doubt not an idea in KH1, maybe, MAYBE in BBS.
  3. 5 Keyblade Wielders under Ultimate Master Deadpool are given Book of Prophesies that say the world is gonna end. Ira/Unicorn Man wants to prolong the light of the 1 World for as long as possible, and brings up the idea of forming Unions of Keyblade Wielders to prevent the darkness from destroying the World. Master Deadpool, a little too accepting of both the End and Ira's plan, helps his 5 pupils set up the Unions but says that no alliances can be formed. His pupils become the Foretellers and they are all given tasks by Master Deadpool that eventually pit them all against each other. Rumors of a traitor among them spread, and Gula/Leopardus is told this by Master Deadpool, throwing more suspicion and increasing the desire of each Foreteller's Union to gather light. Union members start fighting each other, and it all finally comes to a head at the Keyblade Graveyard where everybody dies. (This is original X) Meanwhile, Ava/Foxy Lady starts her task of gathering Keybladers that will be spared the end of the world, transported to a new World (unchained X) and continue the fight against the darkness. These are the Dandelions. She's also given the task of finding 5 Keybladers who will lead the new Unions. The first one we're seen approached about this is Ephemer(a), a friend of the player's from another Union who was investigating the secrets of the Book of Prophesies and the nature of the separate Unions. After he disappears to the Unchained World, we meet his friend Skuld. With her, we find out about the "nature of the traitor" and when the End will start. Skuld joins the Dandelions and also becomes the second new Union leader. (This is unchained X) After the War, you're saved by Skuld and Ephemer, even though you didn't join the Dandelions. You and the Dandelions are transported to Unchained X with your memories erased. A decision made by 4 of the 5 leaders: Ephemer, Skuld, Ventus (yeah, BBS Ven), and Blaine (who's probably shady). Maleficent is shown in this World, hiding from Sora, but also shown to be following the story of The Enchanted Dominion. (This is very unclear). We just were introduced to the cutest character ever: Strelitzia, a shy Keyblader who wanted to be friends with our player. She was chosen to be the last Union leader. But Nomura literally just killed her last night, and someone took her information book about how to be a Union leader. Lauriam (add an X, see what you find) instead is seen as the 5th Union leader. This is now where Union X begins. ALSO MEANWHILE FOR X :The 6th apprentice of Master Deadpool, Luxu is given a completely different task, Xehanort's Keyblade with a magical eye that can see future, and a mysterious box. Luxu will observe the outcome of the War and make sure that Xehanort's Keyblade is passed on and on, so that Master Deadpool can see into the future and write in the Book of Prophecy. After all that, Master Deadpool disappears and the World begins its spiral. Side note: It looks like we're visiting separate worlds, but the Book of Prophecies creates an illusion of travelling to different worlds through Daybreak Town. This allows for Kayblade wielders to collect more Light/Lux from the world.
  4. I made a rant vid about Ojamas, for anyone interested:
  5. Even when I modify his AI, Donald rarely heals me. The few times he does, I'm stunned. My biggest complaint for Donald is more that he WASTE ITEMS. He will use up any Ethers you give him in an instant or give them to Goofy, and NEVER uses Potions. Goofy wastes items too. I kind of hope Square embraces the joke (the manga did) in KH3 cause I find it hilarious even now.
  6. A GX movie would be amazing! I loved DSOD, it was Kaiba at his best
  7. I honestly don't know why, but Sora and Kairi dancing in Halloweentown in KH2 really creeps me out 0.o
  8. Shibuya BETTER be a world! It'd be really interesting to see what direction they'd go for. Are the TWEWY cast still in the Reaper's Game? Are there Heartless instead of Noise?(probably) Could Xehanort be there? What are they going to mention about Joshua's role in making Neku a part of the Game? There's a lot to work with plus the setting would be very different from most prior worlds. I WANT IT
  9. I'm still under the assumption that they've been doing voice acting throughout the entire development cycle. We've gotten multiple reports over the past 2 years of Disney actors reportedly being "done", "done for now", or have been called in for some lines. Not to mention they found a voice actor for Young Eraqus early on and almost every trailer has been released in English AND Japanese. I know voice acting is towards the end of development, but I've noticed that KH3 has had an odd development besides the voice acting (Nomura stated he had a release date in mind last TGS(?)). Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they were done with VA and they've been working on polish this whole time.
  10. I think both would mean the same thing in the context of the speech. But I think it's more for emphasis. ALL hearts begin in darkness and ALL hearts end in darkness.
  11. The first EVER playthrough I did of KH1 I chose the sword and gave up the shield thinking that if I gave up the staff, I couldn't use magic at all. I spent half an hour on that first area. What resulted was a very rough irst playthrough especially since my path was also in the dead of night
  12. Hey everyone! It's been a while since I posted a theory and the new 2.8 trailer came with all kinds of goodies that got my brain a theorizing. So this theory is why Aqua remained in the Realm of Darkness after Mickey had found her, and it has to do with timing. This theory runs under the assumption that Mickey had found Aqua while he was looking for the Kingdom Key D and that 0.2 ends at the same time as the closing of the Door to Darkness in KH1. Mickey finding Aqua in the Realm of Darkness probably leads to Mickey explaining the state of worlds and his reason for being there to Aqua. And maybe Aqua helped Mickey find the Kingdom Key D and was going to be the one to close the Door to Darkness. But it was Riku and Mickey instead. So where did Aqua go? If she was there, Riku could have joined Sora in the Realm of Light, or Aqua could have crossed over. Well, also at this time, because of Apprentice Xehanort, Organization XIII and Ansem SOD's actions, the forces of darkness and the Heartless were growing. So much so that by the time of Ansem SOD's defeat, the Heartless were ready to overtake the Realm of Light from the opening of the Door to Darkness. Someone had to stop that. Mickey couldn't do, he had to lock the door; and Riku couldn't do it because he wasn't strong enough, he didn't even have a Keyblade at this time. Therefore, Aqua was the only one who could prevent the Heartless from invading the Realm of Light, so she couldn't be there at the Door. The last scene in the new trailer is Aqua getting ready to face multiple Darksides that are forming a huge corridor of darkness (Ansem the Wise's reports says this is a CoD since Sora passed through one when Destiny Islands was destroyed, which was the orb that he got sucked into), which feels very end-game stage, the stakes are huge and the environment looks the most dangerous. This is most likely the corridor the Heartless were using to cross the Door to Darkness. When Aqua stops the Heartless, it's right before the Door to Darkness is closed, but too late for her to get there and cross into the Realm of Light. Mickey and Riku escaped separately not long after, so Aqua couldn't have joined in their escape either. So Aqua is again stuck in the Realm of Darkness, as she chose to stop the Heartless army at the cost of her freedom, and will continue to wander until she reaches the Dark Margin a year after Sora and Riku escaped at the end of KH2. Aqua just missing every opportunity to leave also adds to the sadness that the 0.2 team is trying to crush us all emotionally with and keeps up the integrity of the timeline since Aqua's character wasn't even conceived until KH2, which many seem to forget. (Like seriously, could people stop asking where Ven's heart was when Sora became a Heartless in KH1? Ven didn't even exist in 2002 ) Little rusty of the theory business, but I hope it makes sense
  13. As a flute player whose favorite KH female character is Kairi, I'm so glad that she's playing the flute in the artwoek ^.^
  14. The beginning of Aced's line "We need to defy the Master's teachings" shows Aced appearing to be waiting for Ava as she comes out of a building. My assumption is that Aced was following her, trying to figure out what she's doing, who's she's seeing.
  15. I think Ava knows too much so Luxu won't let her go. She'll be defeated, Luxu will claim it was the traitor that did it, but since the other Foretellers don't know who it is and probably won't be all together when this goes down, they'll just start going at it. And the Keyblade War begins with Ava's defeat/death as the catalyst. OOOOORRRRR, going off of the scenes from the 2.8 trailer where we saw Aced following Ava and defeating Gula, Aced will conclude that Ava is the traitor or conspiring with the traitor. And since the update said that Ava and Gula were close, Aced will confront Gula with no intention of listening to reason and strike Gula down. Ava will come back from her talk with Luxu who probably warned her of Aced's actions and see Gula's defeat. Ava will tell the other Foretellers what happened but that Luxu is the traitor, but since Aced killed Gula, no one will listen and then they'll start fighting. If neither, I'll be surprised. We're really close to the war starting: X is ending in September(?), Unchained will continue the story (don't know for how long) and 2.8 is coming out in December. It's all kicking off and I'm actually really excited to see how this will go!
  16. Re: CoM is my least favorite KH game because of its gameplay. And the concept that people don't like the forced "strategic" element to it I don't feel is fair to say. The game is strategic, I acknowledge that, I appreciate its depth, and I have done a very in depth strategic playthrough of it when I played through the second time. But it didn't make the game any better for me. The main issues for me are game speed and game flow. All of the KH games have tried to make gameplay faster, hence the button masher feel to the game, but the faster paced games still have their own levels of strategy to them. KH2 I feel is the best in terms of gameplay: it's fast with numerous ways to do combos. The command decks were helpful in getting off powerful spells and moves quickly. while still allowing for fast normal combos. And Flowmotion made the gameplay even faster by allowing players to perform powerful moves and move away or closer extremely quickly. And while each system had their faults as well as successes, they were still fun, fast paced mechanics. Seriously, play 3D and then KH1, it's amazing how much faster the gamplay has progressed. CoM, no matter how you slice it, even with sleights, is slow. You start off with a weak deck that makes it so hard to get through battles quickly. You're constantly watching the enemies cards, which takes forever, which means you're just standing there. Which would be fine if this was a turn based game, except it isn't. You're still in an action game setting where you get to move around. You're given the illusion of a fast paced game when it's basically just a waiting game. And even if you try to end the battle quickly or get the upper hand on enemies by using a card first, they'll play a card immediately that almost always seems to be higher than yours, resulting in a card break. So battles are slower, meaning moving through rooms, floors and bosses are slower. Not to mention the deck building is also tedious and slow. You can't just put random cards in. You can sort by numbers, but then you realize some cards do more damage at certain parts of a combo, so unless you have a guide, you have to figure out (slowly) which cards are best for a certain part of a combo. And if you want to include sleights, you have to make sure that they're positioned properly and that the cards won't be a hindrance later on. And even though this is the most strategic part of CoM, it's again, slow, tedious and takes even more time away from finishing the game. For a game series that strives to up the action with every iteration, while it isn't a step backwards, I feel it wasn't a step in the right direction. Again, if this was an actual turn based game, and not a pseudo-action game, I think it would have fit better, and would have been more enjoyable. Going back to card breaks. I hate card breaks because when it happens, it's so jarring and sudden that it takes me, at least, out of the game space and out of game flow. Game flow is a state of play where the player is completely engrossed in the game world, but can still go out of it of their own volition. (Examples: switching from "I died" or "I couldn't jump" to "Sora didn't jump/block"). It's something you want a player to experience, you want them to be a part of the game world. But when you're so focused on trying to speed through a battle, or just getting through one, but you're character staggers, gets hit, the screen flashes for a sec and a sharp sound plays, it takes the player out of game flow. I tried to play a card and hit the enemy, but they played a card higher and suddenly I can't move or do anything for a sec. It's jarring, it's sudden and it often leaves me scrambling for a few moments. But all it takes are a few moments. I'm out of game flow, I'm distracted, I don't know what's going on, then I get hit even more. This makes me mad and frustrated at the game when I should be frustrated at myself. Mainly because enemies take forever to play a card, and when they break your card, they play a card immediately after it so I don't know what card broke mine. Plus it's hard to build a decent deck at the beginning. Even more problems with the system and mechanics when I should be the problem. Game flow is important and CoM brings be out of it so much. I could go on, but it would be so long. Btw if anyone wants to know more about game flow:http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/166972/cognitive_flow_the_psychology_of_.php
  17. I think they're referring to release date news. I remember Nomura saying that they'd be able to release more info this year, but so far we've gotten very little. I'm not expecting a lot for E3 honestly, just another updated KH3 build trailer. 0.2 shows actual combat situations affecting Aqua's stats, which the last 2 KH3 trailers barely showed. So they'll probably have a new trailer that shows off more gameplay, I'm hoping for a story trailer though.
  18. I agree Nintendo has had pretty poor marketing for like ever. They like actually have a history of missteps from poor Wii U marketing to even back the SNES days when Nintendo decided to stick with the NES as it's primary console when Sega entered the market. They've always managed to bounce back in some regard. They have quality consoles (except for the Wii) and even better quality games, which is what Nintendo has focused on since its introduction into the video game market. I don't believe Nintendo will ever be snuffed out but I do agree they really need to improve their marketing. The Wii U is actually a damn good console that no one took seriously and they should have learned from their mistakes from that, but it appears they haven't. It's a shame, but they'll never die out.
  19. Skuld? Odd name.. *looks it up* ... oh shiz..The name means "debt" or "future". It's from Norse mythology: A Norn, which is a female being who rule the destiny of gods and men. 0.0
  20. The one thing I've learned from studying games in university: A game is what you define it to be. Some consider LiS a game, others an interactive fiction. It's honestly pointless to convince people it's one or the other because it has elements of both.
  21. Well here's the rub: the Foretellers obviously failed. Remember, they formed their Unions to PREVENT the Keyblade War, but it still happened anyway, and most likely the Foretellers fell in battle. Regardless if Rebirth theory is true and Riku is Unicornis' reincarnation, his accomplishments still stand because Unicornis and all the other Foretllers failed. Riku is still the only Keyblade Wielder/Protagonist that has handled, controlled and faced the darkness in his heart is such a powerful way, making him one of the most powerful characters in the series. And on the flip side we have Terra, while he, like Riku, is "destined for greatness" because he is Ursus' reincarnation in the theory, he is way far from it since he is still possessed by Xehanort and most likely a 13th Darkness. I personally like the Rebirth theory, I feel it clever, but to each their own.
  22. I honestly feel like being a little upset is justified. I still want to see that lost KH3 trailer and I feel like it's unfair to many fans who couldn't go to these special events. I do appreciate the fanbase's attempts to show off what was in that trailer though. I'm upset at the person who started the rumor, but I'm also upset at Square for not dismissing it. While Square didn't confirm the trailer coming out, they didn't outright deny it either so I feel like they gave us a little bit of false hope. And I agree the info has been sparse since this event has been hyped up for months. I at least was hoping for Unchained X's overseas release date.
  23. WAIT ARE THESE SUPPOSED TO BE THE DUSKS UNDER MARLUXIA'S COMMAND? LIKE HOW ROXAS CONTROLLED SAMURAIS AND AXEL'S ASSASSINS?
