  1. Unfortunately, yes. Worse still is that they go out of production rather quickly, and only raise in price. I think Roxas goes for well over $300 now. EDIT: I should add that it's the case for all Play Arts KAI figures. Regular play arts isn't nearly this bad, but they're not of as high quality.
  2. Seriously though, can I just gush about how freakin good this looks? The others have been good, but they really nailed the face this time around.
  3. I don't know what's saltier, Roxas's ice cream, or my tears from seeing that price tag. I need it, though. I really wanted one of his KH3 look, and if I wait it's only going to run out of stock.
  4. Tbh, I think the whole move to Canada thing is a bit of an extreme move. I don't expect either of the candidates to kill the country any more than past candidates. Neither are good, but I hate to say it, we could probably do far worse.
  5. I'm getting this sense as well, especially since they were very specific that they would announce info in winter. I won't be surprised if there's nothing about that there, but I do have a good feeling about it.
  6. I liked it in KH2. I just don't want one half to be weak or filler, while the other half is interesting and important. That felt like a lot of KH2. I did enjoy how it kinda made it feel like an anime in a way (you can even see where the midseason finale would be). I'd say some worlds should warrant a second visit, but we don't necessarily need to go back to all of them.
  7. That last position made me let out a huge sigh of relief. So they know something is up with the lighting at least.
  8. It's pretty much already a demo. So no, I'd prefer it to just come out in full. That said, I'd play one if they put it out.
  9. I did say on multiple occasions I was irrational about it, lol. It's the one thing I'm really selfish about.
  10. Setting up the hardware? No, I'm talking about the problems with the game itself. Stuff that doesn't work for unexplained reasons, and running poorly for no apparent reason even though you have the right specs. Some are on disks, I don't think most ports are, though. High cost-- Full price for PS4 is much cheaper, online is mostly irrelevant for what I play, and the base cost for games is barely cheaper on PC. You do get more sales on PCs, but it's not as if you don't get price drops and sales with console games so that kind of argument holds no water.
  11. Like I said, it isn't rational. I have no explanation as of yet, it just bothers me. I think I just liked the exclusivity. Well let's see... PC gaming isn't intuitive to set up and is more frustrating than it's worth, digital only (or practically digital only) sucks, high cost to run anything amazingly, the PC master race. There's a bit more to it than that, but those are some of the big ones. I just vastly prefer the console life. If KH3 came to PC, they'd force my hand because I need the best version of that game, which would kill myself on the inside, my wallet, and my patience for setting things up without everything going to hell. EDIT: And for what you edited, yes. firetruck the PC market. This is the one thing I will be selfish about with no regrets.
  12. Here's where I become the selfish asshole: No. My thought process isn't rational, I just hate PC gaming. Seriously though, not everything needs to come to PC.
  13. I'm really not sure why they'd do this for 0.2 since it's pretty much already a demo, but I will take it!
  14. You know why I defend them? Because I genuinely don't care that much. There are definitely issues, sure, but I've barely run into them so it really doesn't bother me. Whenever someone talks about how shit they are, it just comes out as cartoonishly exaggerated, because most of the stuff is pretty rare, load times aside which don't really bug me.
  15. Doesn't matter if she doesn't exist anymore, she did at one point and developed quite a bit even if she was far from being my favorite character. Doesn't mater if Sora didn't developed outside KH1, he still developed at one point. A character doesn't need to change in every game to be a good character anyways. Roxas-- true about Xion being the catalyst for a lot of things, but that shouldn't undermine everything. He changed a lot over the course of the game, and those ice cream conversations did go along with that. Aqua7KH put it best about why Roxas is a great character and developed alot. Also, really? The ice cream conversations were not that bad.
  16. You have found my trigger. I get TAV, but come on, Roxas and Xion totally have development. And before you use the excuse that Xion was a Mary Sue (by definition this is inaccurate) and Roxas only changed at the end, consider the fact that they were blank slates in the beginning. Their development was a slow burn, but it was definitely there. Sora also developed a lot in the first game. Sorta in CoM, too, but we all know how that turned out. Sorry, really had to put my 2 cents there. I've seen opinions like that before, and I can never take them fully seriously.
  17. I hope we have more control during it instead of it being a poor man's starfox. Having more exploration could make it into a pretty interesting minigame. iirc there was some job thing posted last year that mentioned gummi ship missions. I believe it was the same one that leaked 2.8 (or as it was referred to then, 2.9).
  18. Look-- everything in the world has flaws. KH2 has a lot of them, more so than KH1 for sure. However, what it does right is what pushes it ahead. Playing Final Mix for the first time was the most fun I've had in a video game. I like how people point out it being easy as a flaw, when really: consider how many video games are genuinely difficult these days. Not many. It might be easier than other hack and slash games (bayonetta, DMC) but on the greater spectrum it at least has some challenge, and though critical isn't that crazy, that doesn't undermine everything else. As a game it just feels fun, more than KH1. Can we stop with the whole Mashing x to win thing (talking to everyone, cause seriously)? There's still movement and other such things involved in fights even in the easier modes, and you're still gonna have a bad time just hitting x. I know it's kind of just a technicality by adding movement, but boiling it down to just one button really does not do it any justice. I think we can all agree the story wasn't perfect. It wasn't really due to lacking the charm of 1, it was more because they left the main plot for half the game without a trace. The disney worlds needed to be more involved in the main plot, and there was a huge lack of character development on nearly all fronts.
  19. Fair enough. Have you been to KHInsider recently, though? I won't argue about when DDD came out. After all, everyone was still universally praising BBS's battle system then. This fandom has changed quite a bit since then, haha. For awhile there was so much negativity regarding the series on KHI that someone had to put up a thread about things people actually liked about it. Since then, it's been a lot more balanced out. And believe me, I get ya, though I can see how someone might get the wrong idea and jump to the wrong conclusions.
  20. I suppose I should actually try to keep more to topic. I don't think you should entirely discredit Osaka, because 1) They've been limited to handheld games, which typically don't have the level of polish and content that a console game might have (aside from just graphics). 2) Blaming a whole team for screw ups that may be the result of a decision made by a higher up (whether Nomura, his subordinates, or someone else) isn't okay 3) Teams change. iirc, a lot of the people who worked on KH2 are on the team now 4) It's KH3, not some handheld title that doesn't mean as much for the company. I'm thinking Nomura will get their asses in gear for this, already things look way more balanced than BBS and DDD. At least based off of the analysis's for KH3's last trailer, and what we know about 0.2. Shotlocks don't seem OP, combos are better, some degree of revenge value, etc.
  21. It came off that way with "super toxic." I've had plenty of experience with toxic communities, and to be completely honest KH is probably one of the better ones I've seen. By no means perfect, but there's no universal praise or universal hatred like there is with some of the other ones I've mentioned. And for the record, maybe it's not because you criticized it, maybe it's to the degree you criticized it. Kinda like with this topic, it's nearly entirely pessimistic (hence the title I guess). Personally, I can't stand when people talk shit about something without looking at it's merits as well. I'm not a fan of extremes, whether overly positive or overly negative. KH isn't perfect, it's writing can be poop at times, it's not always balanced as a game, but it makes up for it in other ways. When you're only talking about the flaws, it can kinda seem like you hate the whole damn thing, and that's where people will get angry, whether they see the flaws or not. One last question, did you ever actually see anyone explicitly stating that Kingdom Hearts is perfect? Because I'm seriously doubting the vast majority of the fandom would agree with that sentiment. Nothing is perfect.
  22. Weird, because I see a lot more doom and gloom around than overwhelming holy shit this will be the greatest game of all time because KH3. And I like how you single out this fandom as being super toxic, when it's really rather mild compared to, say, the FF fandom or Dark Souls, or any of the oscar bait video game fandoms like Uncharted or TLOU. I'm sensing you had a handful of bad experiences.
  23. What's so crazy about it again? I'm genuinely curious, because it's nothing we haven't guessed at. This is actually probably the most down to earth KH story we've gotten since KH1.
  24. Many anime sites will say a dub is shit by default. With that being said, Higurashi's does kinda suck, and it only lasts for the first season. There are some decent voices, but some of the lines just sound... off. It's really hard to describe. A lot of the acting is fine, some of it just isn't conveyed very well.
