  1. yikes. a ps4 isn't worth that kind of sacrifice unless you know for sure you'll never want/need to touch those games again. the only time i trade in a game is if i can confidently state i'll never play it. otherwise, i say wait until you get a job and save up the money. don't worry, the ps4 will still be around by then. unlike that wii u, amiright folks yuk yuk yuk
  2. i'm sure it's not going to do horribly. all the KH games can at least deliver on a fun experience (to some extent). i'd like to see some reviews that say "Dream Drop Distance has had all it's gameplay problems fixed by SE and now the combat is much more balanced and fun." i mean the camera is pulled back out for a wider field of view so that's at least a positive. might help make battles less of a visual mess.
  3. those were some cool toy commercials there, Pixar
  4. it's going to be a 5 hour long cutscene of Mickey recapping the entire series for the new players
  5. i'm gonna say it's probably a Bloodborne sequel. from what i heard, the Dark Souls series is done, at least for the time being. a sequel to Bloodborne makes sense considering it was so well received. I loved the setting and gameplay of Bloodborne and would love to see what else From Software does with it.
  6. pretty sure it'll be one disc. the fact that it was both collections on one disc was one of the reasons i was excited for it. just the thought of so much Kingdom Hearts crammed on to one disc for one low price. it's crazy.
  7. i wouldn't call the 1.5 and 2.5 remasters abominations, tbh. there are far worse HD remasters out there. At worst, 1.5 and 2.5 are serviceable.
  8. screenshots of 0.2 that will make you say, "That's not 0.2, that's GarysMod.....right?"
  9. Crucify them! Crucify them!
  10. it's a poorly designed boss so right off the bat it's got it's issues. mainly for terra you just have to time your dodges better as opposed to spamming them relentlessly with Ven and Aqua. as for offensive strategies just stick with the surge abilities and then it becomes a game of "wait for the few moves that give you an opening."
  11. out of the new releases i played this year, i'm gonna roll with Ratchet and Clank on PS4. i remember being so excited for that game and it definitely met my expectations. the gameplay was a blast and the graphics were beautiful. the few gripes i had with the game were the weak story (which i blame on the movie) and a lack of 60 fps, which has been consistent throughout the series (except for Into the Nexus, i think). the 60 fps thing isn't so much of a problem, but damn if they had delivered a really solid narrative this game would have been a straight up 10/10. still, it's a video game and it delivered in the area where it counts the most, imo. the gameplay is top notch. it's amazing how well the formula of the Ratchet and Clank games have held up since the PS2 era. Insomniac really perfected the gameplay and it shows because it's still as fun as ever. it's the perfect game to play when you just want to blow stuff up and have a good time. the game provided a very entertaining experience with some good replay value for only $40, which is insane! i'm pretty sure i played the game 3 times back to back to back. it makes me want to see what Insomniac will do with a new Ratchet and Clank game with an original story. here's hoping we get to see a new Ratchet and Clank game sometime in the near future.
  12. sony pictures animation does "The Emoji Movie" passes the "Ratchet and Clank" movie off to the people who did "Norm of the North." why
  13. it's actually nice when a story definitively ends. i like that about the FF games. you play through them, meet the characters, grow to care for them and then when the adventure is over it's time to say goodbye. part of what makes something special is the fact that it's finite. the fact that it ends makes the time you spend with it more valuable. i wouldn't want a sequel to FF9 because i enjoyed the original so much and can understand that the story is over. plus it's a great way to continually attract new fans by not requiring them to play all the previous games.
  14. i think the fact that October was an uneventful month for the series supports the idea that the calendar is just a background object with no real meaning. anything else is like grasping at straws.
  15. wait i thought it was a given that the heartless contained hearts of those that fell to darkness? and the reason the heartless have money is because it's a video game and the developers needed a way for the player to earn resources like money and magic as they play. it's a common element you find in lots of games. no in universe reason for it and none is needed.
  16. but nomura said news would come out after 2.8 releases! doesn't that mean the instant 2.8 is available to the public he'll tell us all about KH3 and give us 3 new trailers? i mean it's the only logical conclusion to draw here, folks.
  17. Kingdom Hearts is a pretty good game. it's got a simple but engaging story, the gameplay is ok in the beginning but once you start unlocking abilities you really start to have fun with it. the music is great as is the case most often with all the KH games. it's a simple game that knows what it wants to be and does a pretty good job at it. it's not my favorite KH game, but i appreciate what it does right. it really nails the simplicity that the later games lack.
  18. i mean that just basically confirms it though. nintendo you just let the cat out of the bag. caught red handed. nothing slips past us
  19. maybe wait on a discount price or something. sounds like you're only interested to play as that one character.
  20. agreed. FFIX is definitely one of my favorite JRPGs. i think i've got the whole soundtrack downloaded because the music in that game is fantastic. the game had a certain charm about it that i really liked.
  21. definitely not a 2017 release date, in case some of you still had some hope left for that
  22. ahhh so you have reached enlightenment yea that's what happens when you don't plan things out ahead of time. the first three KH games definitely feel very different compared to the later ones, especially DDD. the plot tries to have a grand and epic scale but really doesn't pull it off too well. first 3 KH games are a solid trilogy on their own and KH3 should have started off a new story separate from the last one.
  23. i wonder why people try to adapt cartoons/animation into live action. i mean right out the gate you know it's going to struggle to capture the feel of the original just because the original was made specifically for animation. the movements, actions, characters, etc were designed with animation in mind. there's a good chance it won't all translate well to live action and will just come off looking silly because what they want the characters to do will look unnatural for a real human. maybe they just don't do a good enough job of adapting the material to fit the real world. maybe sticking too close to the visual style of the source material is what hurts these films. but then if they stray too far from the source material in terms of designs and actions people will get upset, so idk.
  24. the petty complaints of KH fans are as inevitable as the tides.
