As much as I love the Xenoblade games, it really sucks trying to get a good discussion about X since it feels like those usually end with people just saying that X is really bad and the original is a lot better. Being in the minority that thinks it's as good as the original is tough.

Shulk replied@lil I honestly think that a good amount of the people that say that X's story isn't good just rushed through the story missions. The main story wasn't anything groundbreaking (though I personally loved it), but the sidequests build the world a lot. I'd argue that X is better at world-building than the original.

Shulk repliedXenoblade was my entry point into the series, but most people who were in the same position seem to spend a lot of time talking about how the original is far better. I'm one of the few that seems to have loved both equally.

Shulk repliedI wouldn't say that they lack in the other's strong points. I think both are fantastic in all of those categories, although each one has an edge over the other in those particular ways. If the next Xeno game manages to incorporate all of those elements as well as these two did, it would easily take my favorite game spot from them.
Lacking a Wii U does make playing X difficult, though.
Shulk repliedI would too, but Takahashi said in an interview that the next game would be different from X. We don't know if he meant in terms of structure or just being a new story, though. He said the next game would be more plot-focused than X was, I'm just hoping that he also carries over the giant world and gameplay structure that X had. Of course, I'm sure I'll be happy with it either way.
Shulk replied@Xam Yeah, this series has been going for a while. They've already got a development kit for the NX, so it's only a matter of time before we see the game. The director hasn't said a whole lot about the next game, but I'm still really excited to see where they go!
@lil I'd be really happy with a sequel to X, but I'd be fine with some other means of finishing the story. As for the next game, I feel like they could make it even bigger with new hardware.

You know, no matter how much you fight it, once you start thinking about one of your favorite games, you just have to play it even if you don't feel like you have time for it. It like takes a hold on you until you can't take it any longer and must play it. So here I am about to start KH2 again.

First time I picked the grass starter. I need that Mega Sceptile X)

I have a bad habit of using the same starters every playthrough, so I've been trying to switch that up lately. Kanto and Hoenn are probably the only exceptions there. I'm planning on using Litten in Sun/Moon, although if the leaked evolutions are real, I'm hoping that its final form looks better in-game. I don't hate it, but it's not really what I expected. ._.Yep, that's why.

And agreed. I actually don't like the Litten one at all. So I hope it will have a different evolution. But I love the Owlet one
And me too, it's 50/50 in my case. My team was just too weak with only favorites <.<
Shulk replied@Felixx Charizard's one of my favorites too, but using Bulbasaur in Y made me like it a lot, too.
Also, that's a good reason for going with Water first. Starting with Fire can be a pain sometimes ._.@Zimomo I don't particularly dislike it, it's just not what I expected. I do hope it ends up being Dark/Fire instead of Fire/Fighting.
(Yeah, leaks are the worst... I've avoided almost everything else from that particular leak, though)

Yeah, it was nice to have a break from the usual Fire brawler design, but it looks like we're going back to that. It kind of reminds me of a cat version of Emboar. I would have preferred something a bit more unique, but maybe it'll look better in the actual game.
