We Have A Pretty Excellent Lineup Of Worlds For Kingdom Hearts III!

Posted

Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, we are finally almost on the cusp of finally getting to experience Kingdom Hearts III in all its glory in just one more month! With that being said, I wanted to post a topic on this thread, because I was thinking about the worlds we have for this game. While some people might think we don't have that many worlds, in truth, we actually have quite a robust set of worlds for this game, and a great lineup at that! To refresh, these are the already confirmed worlds!

  • Olympus
  • The Kingdom Of Corona
  • The Toy Box
  • Monstropolis
  • Arendelle
  • The Caribbean
  • Twilight Town
  • 100 Acre Wood
  • San Fransokyo
  • Scala Ad Caelum
  • The Mysterious Tower (This one is hit or miss since it could be a part of Twilight Town like it was in KHII.)
  • The Realm Of Darkness
  • The Keyblade Graveyard

So these are the already confirmed worlds! (The last two should be considered since major stuff goes down in these worlds.) But keep in mind that we also got some worlds shown discreetly in many of the trailers, and Nomura even said there would be a few worlds that would be cutscene only! So for those we got:

  • Radiant Garden
  • Kingdom Hearts? (The sky world place Chirithy is?)
  • Lea and Kairi's training place
  • The Land Of Departure/Castle Oblivion

I don't know if I'm forgetting anything else, but yeah. That puts the world count at 17, which is two worlds more than Kingdom Hearts II, I believe! Nomura wasn't kidding when he said this game was gonna be huge! :o

  • With less worlds than 2 I think we are in for a good time. Like Ienzo said, the worlds are expansive.  I can easily see myself lasting 3-6 hours in each.

  • If only radiant garden was playable. These worlds are gunna be amazing!

  • The world's are also more expansive than the ones in KH2 with hopefully the Organization playing a bigger roles in them compared to KH2.

Looks like we go to the RoD at least twice since both Riku and Sora have to fight bosses there. But it's certainly possible that they'll be one-off worlds that can only be accessed at certain points.

or indeed we could just be an area of another world like the mysterious tower in kh2 or indeed our first glimpse of the keyblade graveyard

Yeah the line-up is actually really good. I'm just wondering if the original worlds are going to be as expansive as the Disney worlds since we haven't really seen much of them. I really hope that's the case.

Just saying, but we technically don't know if the keyblade graveyard, scala ad caelum and the realm of darkness are proper full fledged worlds or if we only go there once or whatever.

For Scala ad Caelum I feel like it will be cause of how they announced it, with the other two it could go either way.

I feel like Scala Ad Caelum would be playable simply because we don't have many original worlds to return to. Twilight Town seems to be the only full fledged world we go to. The Realm of Darkness as you said might be a one time thing and probably won't even be that long. Scala Ad Caelum might just be all cutscenes...but the way it was revealed made it seem way too important to not be played through. Looks to be like the "Penultimate" world.

Most of the worlds are great but there are a few I'm not a big fan of. I want them to surprise me though and end up being good anyway since I don't want Kh3 spoiled just because it contains some worlds I'm not fond of.

There's some I'm not to keen on either (that I won't mention here) but hopefully I'll end up enjoying them, especially if we spend about 3 hours in each world.

Have we gotten confirmation that it isn't playable? It seems to me that the status of Radiant Garden is still up in the air.

On the subject of the worlds, I agree completely that they are going to be amazing. Judging by the scope of BH6's world it looks like we'll be able to explore the entirety of San Fransokyo. I'm also stoked for the underwater combat in The Caribbean. These worlds are gonna be huuuge!

We don't have a concrete confirmation, but I don't feel like it'll be playable.

Aren't the worlds' plots over once you completed the show for the first time, instead of re-visiting them as in KH2?

I kinda lucked out here in that there's only one world that I'm not super keen on, and that's the Hundred Acre Wood. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the world, I've just never been a big fan of worlds that are only focused on mini-games. Every other world I'm super excited to see and explore!

You and me both.   I think Nomura is selling the world short.

I honestly don't know what else they'll be able to do with the Hundred Acre Wood after KH3. The Heffalump is the last character from the stories to be added I think, so Im' hoping that this will be the end of this world in the series.

Now that being said, even the Hundred Acre Wood is better than KH2 Atlantica. By the end of that world I wanted to dry up the world and set it on fire. I know that sounds dramatic but those rhythm games were the WORST IMO.

Aww that's too bad. I thought the rhythm mini games from Atlantica were cute.

I hated the world because you had to press the buttons in time and had to return if you didn't have a certain spell.  I feel at the very least Heartless could have been introduced to the Hundred Acre Wood.

The button pressing in time was my big issue. It was also annoying that you had to have certain spells and therefore were supposed to keep going back throughout the game, but since I always leave Atlantica to the last minute it never really affects me.

I know you're not alone ther; plenty of people loved Atlantica, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just not one of those people, that's all. Not my kind of thing. :)

I am kind of excited about Toy Story returning.  I am glad to see them implementing more of the Organization members into the Disney worlds unlike in KH2.

It's a strong lineup and I'm looking forward to it, particularly Monsters. Inc and Big Hero 6. Monsters Inc has great character forms and Big Hero 6 is the first city-based world since TWTNW.

Though I'm a sore not to have gotten my most coveted worlds; Treasure Planet and Atlantis.
I also would have liked to see the Pride Lands again. KH2 set up a Simba's Pride based storyline perfectly with Nala being pregnant in the second visit.

That's my only concern. For Poohs world I hope it isnt just minigames...I actually want to battle here.

The Hundred Acre Wood as a full world with battles?
I find this notion intriguing but improbable.
Hopefully, they have a decent excuse for the book to lose its pages again.

It's a really unlucky book?

Or a cursed book perhaps. That legit has merit, actually.

I know I disliked KH 2's the Carribean, but I'm really excited to play in the POtC world in this one. The ships battles look like a lot of fun and Sora's Pirate design is my favorite of his forms. I'm honestly excited for most of these worlds. They all just look so gorgeous! I think It's a pretty decent line up.

More like irritating, the book always has its pages going missing because of irritating Heartless.

I am curious about the underwater aspect of PoTC and how it will work and why is it needed plotwise?

I'm not sure. I don't even remember the plot of most of the POtC movies. It could just be an immersion thing or random level design choice, but then again we didn't see Sora go underwater in the one trailer in the Tangled world were he was swimming in that one body of water. Unless you can dive further down. That would actually be a cool concept if it's true. The world's are going to be pretty big after all.

Yeah, and I think that rainbow smoke from the canons would be fun to use flowmotion on.

Me too my Friend i've would have wanted the Return of the Pride Lands (With Simba's Pride Storyline) and Treasure Planet and Atlantis in Kingdom Hearts 3 but Pirates of the Caribbean and Winnie the Pooh killed their Chances to get in the Game well we might as well wait for the Next Installment to get them as worlds you know what i mean?

Same. The use of flomotion in KH 3 in general looks fun, especially when scaling up large structures and enemies. The scale of how small Sora is compared to enemies like the Rock Titan is insane.

Indeed. Here's to always hoping.
