I remember they had the cure for a Cancer on Asgard but she rejected the cure so she can die as any human.

It was a while back So I might be misremembering.

basically, whenever she would turn into thor, the transformation would remove any "poisons" from her body, and it deemed the chemotherapy treatment to be a "poison". so she would get worse every time she turned into thor, and she did eventually die. but they brought her back to life too, because comics
