You know things are going in the wrong direction when your popularity and self-worth correlates to a number on your profile.

That I don't mind, just when users ACTUALLY brag about how much they have is what annoys me.

I don't think paranormal romance deserves its own section in the bookstore.  I'm sitting in Barnes & Noble right now, glaring at all the vampire/werewolf/ghost/zombie x human romance and I'm just like, seriously, keep it with the Romance and/or the Fantasy/Sci-fi sections.  It doesn't need an isle all its own.

I really dislike Turn Based RPG's, It's honestly just really boring...there's a few exceptions, but other than that the genre is bleh

Bieber's music is okay. I don't understand why there are so many haters out there. The main reason there are haters is because they don't have what he has, which makes them feel inferior enough to produce these hateful feelings to begin with.

I'd say his newer music is okay... well.... just sounds like any other pop artist

I can't stand any of his older songs though.

I've heard about things he's done to make people not really like him. Honestly I don't really mind him, but some of the stuff his fans say/do can be really annoying

People need to stop assuming that shy or socially awkward people are just anti-social. I'm really awkward around people I don't know usually, but I love talking to people. A lot of people write me off as anti-social instantly just since I don't start a conversation or anything. Seriously people, if you want to talk with me, just start the conversation. I'm better at holding one than starting one. -_- (Not directed towards anyone on here, just something that happens often to me offline)

Oh my God, me too. People need to understand that just because we're quiet, shy, or introverted (unfortunately, I have all 3 D:), we're not snobby or don't like company.  :( but sometimes, I don't care because I prefer quiet, but a friend or two would be nice D: I feel bad for people like us who have to go to a new school and not know anybody D: I can't even imagine :

I'm the same way. I actually managed to meet a few people at the start of high school who tried talking to me, and we were friends for a while. I managed to go introduce myself to some other guys once too, and they're now some of my best friends. A few other people have talked to me, usually because we're talking to a common friend or something. Outside of them and people from my middle school, I haven't talked to too many people...

I actually encounter this problem a lot!  I just suck at starting conversations and suck even more with maintaining it.  I know a lot of us can be quiet, shy, and/or introverted, but they just need to take some time to peel away our rough exterior.  I'm sure a lot of us are very fun and interesting beneath the shell they perceive us to hide ourselves in.

Yeah... I'm bad at talking to people when I first get to know them, but if I can become good friends with someone, I really have a lot of fun talking with them. It's just something I wish that those more talkative people could understand. Shy/quiet/introverted people still enjoy company, they just need someone else to take the initiative and show that they care.

That totally describe me. I don't know what to talk about when I'm with a friend. I guess I will have to improve my social skills.

Sometimes I hate Peta (people for the ethical treatment of animals) because they can be so hypocritical and dramatic. They wanted to sue Seaworld for "violating orca's rights". Apparently they thought Shamu was enslaved lol

I will not deny that PETA is a disgusting organization, but Seaworld is not saint. Seaworld does not care for the whales and isolates them for long periods of time without room to swim which leads to psychosis and which is why trainers have been killed by the orcas (aka Shamu). So please, before saying shit like this, research what you're talking about because while PETA is all sorts of firetrucked up, their claim against Seaworld is valid.

I sometimes hate being a "girl" on the internet because I feel like you're so much more targeted by unnecessary sass and overall bitchiness from other girls. Honestly when I introduce myself as a male on online forums and MMORPGs I feel like I'm "liked" better, and I don't have to suffer through the drama and sass by other bitches.

That's just a little "theory" of mine, and I've actually tested it out on numerous websites. Way to go in a hostile website = male.

I thought this was an opinion thread without arguments... Anyway I have researched it and sure Seaworld can be bad, but so are many other places dealing with animals. They were suing Seaworld for violating the 13th amendment, which prohibits slavery and involuntary servitude. I don't know about you but when I think of our amendments, I don't associate them with animals. Seaworld was just the first example that came to mind too. Peta bashed the Olsen twins for wearing clothing made from animal fur by making a game called the Trollsen Twins. They also made a cooking mama game where you gruesomely prepare a turkey for Thanksgiving. I think if they want to activate for animals' rights there are other, more effective ways to do it...

Im not arguing with you im just poijting out that Seaworld does in fact abuse their animals which is a reasonable concern. And dont tell me ablut how ridic PETA is because i know??? I know all the bs they pull i wasnt agreeing with them? and yeah using the 13th amendment as basis is silly, but that doesnt mean that Seaworld is still in the clear. everythin else i can care less about since they were dumb but just dont defend Seaworld when they mistreat their animals.

No no I agree Seaworld does in fact mistreat animals, the same can be said about zoos and circuses. I'm not defending them for that.. I don't know where that came up, but ok whatever. I just don't think animals have the same written rights guaranteed by the founders of the constitution as humans do. They have their own, and sure the animal isn't living in suitable conditions or is being used for show, but to me that doesn't mean it is enslaved.

I feel like if a girl wants to crossdress or whatever she'll be called a lesbian and nobody cares anymore, but all of a sudden if a boy wants to wear women's clothing and apply excessive makeup he's automatically an outcast or disowned, in disproving communities/families.

I honestly feel bad for men. I could never be one. They're so pressured to act masculine, be these "manly men of manliness" (which personally, I find horribly unattractive anyways) that some who are secretly afraid and defensive over their sexuality, that some repress their emotions and toss any form of sensitivity out the window. Listen I'm not saying all guys do this because that is OBVIOUSLY not the fcking case. I just feel like (some) men, in (some) places, are watched like hawks.

Whether I'm wearing lolita or binding my chest, I feel fine. But I have a few male friends who desperately want to crossdress and I don't know how to help them because I feel like as a girl in my community I've had it so much easier.

That's why I love when I go to conventions, everyone can be themselves and crossdress as much as they please because you can use the excuse, "It's just a costume, plus half of the people here are doing it too."

Just a disclaimer that I'm not directly attacking you as this is more a rant if anything since you mentioned animal rights.

Okay, this is what I really don't like. I absolutely hate it when people say, "Animals don't deserve the same rights we do," as if the intelligent ones (cetaceans are among the top) don't constitute as people because they are not human.

I used to have a friend who proclaimed he LOVED animals and when I told him about how people are petitioning for a Cetacean Bill of Rights and to recognize cetacean personhood, he basically said, "THEY'RE NOT PEOPLE, THEY DON'T DESERVE IT," when they're just as if not more intelligent than we are. If they don't equate to the status of people by not being human, what does that say about intelligent life forms on other planets?

Although in correlation to your post about Seaworld, like Koko said, they keep their orcas (and their dolphins too though their dolphins have a smaller chance of going insane) in small enclosed spaces, never being able to socialize with others like them unless they're performing or being forced to breed. They're fed fish with little nutrients compared to the diets of wild orcas (which consist of not only fish but other marine mammals) and they're basically stuck in a bathtub for their entire lives and they go mentally unstable. Not to mention these orcas suffer from dorsal fin collapse which doesn't help their condition. They are basically money making machines for Seaworld so I don't understand how you don't see it as enslavement where they're forced to perform all the time at the amusement of others?

Yeah I totally get the fact that Seaworld mistreats the animals. But you have to understand that giving animals the same rights as humans would mean everyone is now forced to go vegan because of all the things that would be violating their rights. Farmers wouldn't be able to milk cows, and raising any type of farm animal like chickens or hogs would cause a flood of lawsuits to be filed. Also no more leather to make objects like sofas. When the 13th amendment was written it was to abolish human slavery, I doubt animals were in mind when that was written. On the other hand though I am all for the respect and fair treatment of animals. I think it is sick how they are handled and raised. Life is a precious thing in all forms. The way I worded that sort of sounds like I'm contradicting myself :P I have it in my head I don't know how to form it though.. Anyway my point being, animals definitely have rights like being ableTo live as naturally as possible. (This is where seaworld screws up)They deserve equal consideration. And although there is a similarity in cognitive function between humans and animals, it isn't as advanced.

I treat animals as humans in some ways. Like ways that don't really matter. I talk to them, answer them, say "bless you" when they sneeze... I'm coocoo.Anyways back to unpopular opinions, I honestly see nothing special about about driving a car. I want to get my license for the sake of having a goddamn license, but to me owning a car is just another way to suck my money like a dick, and one more opened door of oppurtunity for me to (accidentally) kill myself.

I'm all for animal rights and I treat my doggie like a baby, but it's important to note animals aren't like us.  They have different needs, different methods, different goals, so most likely different thoughts that separate us on a fundamental level.

Honestly, a lot of people say the same thing about cars before they get their license, and I used to think the same way.  Then I actually got my license and started driving and holy shit the freedom is awesome.  You severely underestimate the doors that open with a car.  You're able to go places farther than you could on a bike or (god forbid) on foot.  You're not waiting on anyone for your ride, and if they have cars, they're not waiting on you.  You can go just about anywhere you want, and come and leave as you please.  You can go places alone or with friends.

Sure, gas can be a killer, and it's scary how many things can go wrong, but a car is both awesome and necessary.  You can't really get around it these days, so it's best to focus on the advantages it gives you than the fact you're driving a mass of metal, glass, and plastic at 70+ miles an hour.

I know they're not us, I was just saying I treat them with respect, praise them when they're good, scold them when they do something bad etc., basic things like that, common courtesy idk.And I know I know but still blah, I'm in no rush to get a car. The freedom is nice, it's not the people I know that I mind; it's the strangers. If you knew me personally you know I hold the door open for fcking everybody, so imagine me driving. I'd let everyone go, hold up the assholes behind me, then eventually go drive into an alley and cry until the exhaust kills me. I just always prepare myself for the worst, it makes me feel better if I say "this will kill me" than if I'm like "oh, everything will be just DANDY!!!" xD

It'll be great when everyone can have an alternatively powered car. When I buy my first car I'mdefinitely hoping to buy a hybrid. The benefit of driving is great haha

There are ways to bring insurance rates down, not drastically, but every little bit helps. And the price of gas can almost be avoided by getting a hybrid car. Also if you take the time you can learn how to repair parts of your car yourself so you don't have to pay others to do it for you:)
