Is anyone else starting to lose interest in Kingdom Hearts?

Posted

Is anyone else starting to lose interest in Kingdom Hearts? I used to be a huge KH-Tard but I'm starting to find interest in more things. Slowly and slowly I'm losing my interest in this series. There are three main reasons why.

1. Kingdom Hearts III hasn't been released yet and it's been 7(2005-2012) years already.

2. There are many good anime and manga to watch and read that are far more entertaining than Kingdom Hearts

3. They release news every once in a blue moon.

What about you guys here?

i think it's only been so long because namora saw the success in kh and wanted to put a larger background to the storyline before he made kh3 to add more characters and a plot that will BLOW OUR MINDS!!! .. i love anime and manga (no sh*t right) so no complaint there and yea that one bothers me too, but everything is like that, after all you don't want to spoil to much of the plot or people won't find a reason to play the game.

Hmmm.....*thinks about it*

Nope, I'm still lovin' it. :3

I think that the main reason people are losing faith in the Kingdom Hearts series in general is because of the lack of a KH III. The Square Enix team thought it would be a good idea to put the Kingdom Hearts team on Final Fantasy Versus XIII which has, in it's strive for perfection, been quite a while coming. It was announced a while back, a little after FFXIII, and only recently released gameplay footage. Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts fans have been left with 358/2 Days, Coded, Re:Coded, Re: Chain of Memories, and Birth by Sleep, of which BBS is the only really good one. The others are enjoyable, but don't have the same lasting power as KH and KHII did. Even with KH 3D coming out, there are so many other games that it's easy to become distracted. I haven't lost my fandom for Kingdom Hearts, but I will admit that while I wait for the next game I get impatient and play other games instead. Hopefully Final Fantasy Versus XIII is amazing, because otherwise I'll be massively ticked at Square. Kingdom Hearts III needs to begin production, and fast, if it wants to keep followers.

tutti frutti. I'm sort of at mixed reviews about this. Though there are select KH games that I think are great, I kind of believe that Square is sort of dragging the series a bit too long. I know that they have only a certain number of employees and they can only do but so much within a period of time, but why not manage the time better or do something to help better generate games at a reasonable pace. As Razorwind had stated 7 years for a number 3 game is a long time. And in those 7 years, Square has given us BBS, KHDays, and Coded in that period of time. Though I still like the KH series, there is only a certain number of times that I can play each game. More so if the extra contents of the Final Mixes are Japanese exclusives.

My love for it comes and goes off and on. But if there's anything that makes me lose interest in Kingdom Hearts it's the fandom itself and to be quite honest there are some terrible people in this fandom. Not EVERYONE is bad, but enough are and they drive me away from the thing I love. Thank GOD there isn't anyone on KH13 that has done this, but it's happened elsewhere on the internet.

But eh, this happens in other fandoms for me as well... that's probably why I tend to float around each of my fandoms every now and then but I never really stay focused on one for too long.

I am definitely losing interest in KH. Because I don't exactly have a large budget, I can't often shell out to buy the latest games that come out, let alone buy a bunch of handhelds to play a new KH game on each time. The most I can do is watch the cutscenes on YouTube to keep in touch with the story. In addition, I've pointed this out before, but KH news is very few, and very far between. The rare occasions we do get news, what is it? 50% of the time, screenshots (which don't really interest me). 50% of the time, an interview with Nomura telling us everything that we already knew about the game he's talking about. At this point, all I want is another console game to come out and reinvigorate me into the series, but that's not happening until KH III, which isn't happening until Final Fantasy Versus XIII is done (which has me especially pissed, since all that's left in the FNC series is Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Versus, and there's STILL no news or trailers for Versus).

Nomura had better step things up, because whether he knows it or not, people are losing their patience with him, and losing their faith in Kingdom Hearts as a whole. People are now starting to think of it as just another series that Square is trying to milk the crap out of, and with the now yearly releases on whatever handheld is popular at the time, who can blame them?

acctually, series is coming more and more interesting and since im fan of many many other series, i cant easily lose interest to one of them.

there is no way i would lose interest in KH i think evar. my favorite video game series shall forever hold my interest. im going to be getting tattoos dedicated to this video game i love it so much.

what happened if you don't mind me asking, this is the only kh forum i've ever been on as far as threads go so i can't imagine what could have drove you off these forums.

I think that's going a bit too far.
Okay I'll be completely honest. No I have not lost all interest in Kingdom Hearts, though I have lost a little. That's only because there hasn't been much news and he takes FOREVER! in creating them! And I'm waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 to come out but I'm not gonna stop being a fan of it because it is an awesome game! In my opinion I won't lose all interest but I'll lose a little while waiting for each game ... which I fear will be a long time since it takes two to three years to come out with another game.

I do what I want! I'm grown! Lol why is it too far?
I've been getting bored, but I get back into it every time a new game is released. (Which sadly isn't as often as I'd like)

Well i sometimes lose intrest ONLY because there isnt a new kh game or something... But when i hear news i'm again a Kingdom Hearts FREEEAAAK!

Completely understandable reasons behind all of this. Such as how they can't even start work on KH3 until they finish Versus 13.

I'll be honest, I'm losing a bit of interest in the series.

When I was younger, I loved KH so much that I tried everything to get the games once they were released, considering that it takes more time to come here] I loved it so much. But now I don't know why, but I don't "love" that much. Maybe it's because I'm growing up, or maybe because KHIII has not been started yet, and that every year I need to buy a new console to play the next game... It's not that I dislike it, but it's not the same thing. But yeah, when big news appear, and a date of release in the U.S as well, I stay very happy.. Maybe it's the time that news take to arrive.

NO, kingdom hearts fan forever!!!

^ What they said.

True, my interest dwells in other places too, but it always shoots right back to KH when new stuff comes out. Even trivial things like six words Nomura says that are "news". The day I lose interest is the day a ) I am completely offended by something they did or b ) I'm dead. And I don't take offense to a lot of things...

Not really. I think it is because I don't give a dang about a "III" in the title. Sometimes I hope KH3 never comes out just to pis off the people who never stop complaining about it*.

Now, that isn't to say my interest level doesn't fluctuate, however, I have not lost any permanent interest in the series. Sometimes I get distracted by other things, sometimes there is no news so hype dies down, but when there is big news I am sure as heck interested. I was even excited for BbS, and I never got to play it.

*Yeah, that is pretty extreme. But it is just so annoying. It is just a stupid number. I wonder, if every KH game had a number, would we still have this predicament? Of course, there are those who would complain no matter what, and I pity them.

So true. I am honestly convinced that the fandom of any given thing gives the object of their fandom a bad name. I can seriously think of one, as a whole, that honestly represents what they are fans of. And even then, that is just us that participate on the forum, and there aren't more than 50-100 of us**.

**Well, there are thousands of people on the forum site. But the site is for an entire game company, and is divided into sections for each of their games.

I...I confess.....I starting to...
