The Future Can Be Changed

 

Chapter 1 - The First Important Decision

 

In the year of 2258, Humans had found a new planet to live. Earth had been seriously damaged, and with time, had been turned into a place where most of the life could not survive for much longer -- there were poisonous gases around the atmosphere, insects had gotten smarter, and so they knew when to attack, injure, and easily transmit diseases.

 

Besides that, new kinds of wild animals had started to appear -- some were like a mix of a bear with an alligator, other resembled the dinosaur, which had disappeared from Earth centuries ago. It was really hard to keep living on Earth -- and some people refused to leave it, and most of them ended up dying -- either by a disease or by being attacked by these wild animals.

 

In the middle of this, there was a small family, which was composed by a fifteen-years old boy, a thirty-eight years woman, and a sixty-four years old woman. They were respectively named Jason, Keyla, and Vear. They were having a hard time deciding whether they would stay here, on Earth, and have risks of being killed or dying at any second, or going to the recently discovered new planet.

 

Vear wanted to stay, because all of her family had lived and died here -- her mom, dad, brother, cousins and grandparents -- but Keyla did not want to, because she wanted to live for many more years. Jason was not sure what he would do -- because he liked his grandmother a lot, but also wished to live a lot more.

 

The people were being sent every day to the other planet -- by that year, there were about 10,5 million people on Earth, and only 500 thousand could be taken by it each day. Vear then told her daughter and grandson that she would think a bit more, and give a proper reply in the following day.

 

Keyla was desperate to go to the other planet -- she had heard that there was a magical powder, which could only be found in there that could give some special powers to the people. She was a bit selfish, and actually would go alone, even if the rest of her family refused to go.

 

Vear was still deciding, but it would be truly painful for her to leave all her memories and dead family behind. She loved them so much, and once she went to the other planet, there was no way to come back -- at least that was what they had informed the people on the TV.

 

Jason would follow his grandmother’s decision, even if it cost him his life -- he loved her so much -- more than his own mother. In the past, his mother had ‘abandoned’ him, because she left all the responsibility with her mother, and instead started to talk with to unknown people on her cell phone.

 

It was time to go to bed -- none of them could easily sleep. It took a while, because they stood a few hours thinking about what they would do in the following day. As the sun appeared, each one of them had decided what they would do now. They woke up almost at the same time, and decided to first have breakfast, before having the discussion where each one would say and defend why they thought that was better.

AHHHHH! Keyla is incredibly pretty (no wonder she had such a handsome son, just see Omaega's picture) but she's pure evil. This is nearly beyond redemption. Even if she does become good again, she still deserves a lifetime sentence in jail. Keep up the good work!

Chapter 5.1 - Appearance can fool

 

Keyla stood carefully thinking on each and every minor detail of her terrible plan to get information from the Leader during the evening. But, when it was almost 10:00p.m, she asked Vaya if she could already put the dress and some make up.

She wasted more than thirty minutes in the restroom, but when she left it, she really looked like a Goddess. Many would fall to her charms if she tried to fool more men.

 

The dress was already beautiful alone, but with Keyla wearing it, it looked like she was a princess from a fairy tale. She also wore a necklace that resembled a heart. It was also strange, but she seemed to be very happy at that night. The reason was clear, though -- she was about to do what she loved the most in this life -- fool people.

 

The doctor saw her from the hospital, and then he shouted her name. Strangely, she did not seem to reply, so he ran after her.

 

“Lunaaaffff!” he screamed while staring at how pretty she was at that moment.

“Heya, doc. What are you doing here at this hour of the night?” she replied and got even closer to him, as if she wanted him to stare at her eyes.

“Me? I---I’m just passing by. But, oh God, you’re so pretty now. And here I thought you couldn’t get any prettier... Man...” he replied with a happy tone.

“Oh, is that so, darling? Thank you so much. But I need to go now.” she quickly replied as if she wanted to live as quick as possible.

“Where are you going? I thought we could go, and drink something?” he replied as if all his dreams with her had been immediately destroyed.

“To see the Leader. I have, eh, something to ask him. People told me he’s nice, isn’t he?” she happily replied.

“Yes, he is... and lucky, if I do say so myself.” he sadly replied.

“Okay. See you tomorrow. Thanks for helping me, doc. I might need your help again soon, though.” she replied while starting to walk.

“Anytime, my dear lady. Just come or scream, and I’ll be at your side before anything can happen to you.” he replied while still staring at her beauty.

 

“Hahahahahahaha! He surely will be useful to me... but not now. I’ll focus on that drunker. My, my, I just hope he is a little handsome. Either way, he’ll end up burned as well, so I don’t really care. Wahahahahahaha!” Keyla thought to herself.

 

As the village was very secure, since nothing had happened there, and there were no thieves, the Leader’s house was not guarded by anyone, and also the door was opened to anyone who wanted to talk about anything to him.

 

So, Keyla quietly opened the door and entered in the living room. The inside was even better than the outside. It did not even look like it was really a part of that small village. It had everything a person could ask for. And it was all for that old man, as Keyla liked to think of him.

 

“Hello, Leader? Are you here? I’ve come to --” Keyla said but was interrupted by the Leader himself that left a glass fall on the ground.

“Oh my god. Is this real? Are you a Goddess that came from the sky to bring me to the Heavens? Because if so, I’m ready to die.” he replied as he carefully looked at Keyla’s body.

“No -- I just came here to ask about some things... My name... it’s Lunaf.”

“Oh my,my,my.... Such beauty has never presented itself in my house... This must be a present from the Heavens... Milady, before we talk, don’t you want to drink anything?” he asked while still staring at Keyla’s eyes.

“Oh, yes... That’d be great... Can’t we drink two at once? I love drinks.... I just can’t find a man that likes them as much as I do....” she replied with a happy tone.

“Is that true? Then I might have just found my soul sister... Here are the drinks. And yeah, let’s drink as much as we can.” he slowly replied as if he was not believing in what he had just heard.

 

Meanwhile, Vear and Jason spent their last day on Earth organizing everything they would like to take with them. At night, they stood together watching TV -- what they did not use to for ages. And before sleeping, they hugged each other as a symbol of trying to make the other feel better and securer.

 

Vear could not sleep well that night. She kept thinking about what could have happened to Keyla, and what would happen to them once they arrived in this new planet. They would go at 1:00p.m, and might arrive there at the night.

 

As for Keyla, she started giving a lot of drinks for the Leader, and lying, telling a lot about her fictional ‘Lunaf’s story’. It was all very tragic and sad, what made the Leader feel bad for her past. It was finally time to start with the questions and find out what the ‘old man’ knew after all.

YES KEYLA, BURN THEM ALL TO DEATH!!!~

Chapter 5.2 - The truth about the magical powder

“Heehehehehehe! I drank more than I could.... But I’d do anything to a fine babe like yourself, my goddess! Is there something you want me to do? I can actually do anything you want -- ANYTHING.” he replied while laughing and looking at Keyla’s beautiful body.

“Is that so, my leader? Then I guess I have some questions to ask you. It’s nice of you to be so kind.” she happily replied with a smile on her face.

“Okay. Say it, ask as many questions as you want. I’ll answer ‘em all. After that, maybe we can---” he was interrupted by Keyla’s first questions.

“What do you know about the magical powder?” she asked with a tone that seemed like she wanted the answer as soon as possible.

“Eh? The lady wants to know about THAT? I had thought of something different. Hahahaha! But okay. The ‘magical powder’ seems to be split around this planet. Small parts are here and there.” he slowly replied as he was already drunk.

“Is that all you know, sweetheart?” she replied with a tone of disappointment.

“Nah, not even half of it. I’m gonna tell you more now. It seems like there are countless different types of this powder. And each one gives you different powers, of course. Some are very rare -- it’s said that there are three legendary powders, but no one knows about these. Some powders have powers related to their colors -- red controls fire, blue water, eh, you get the idea, right? But the nearest powder that is believe to exist is in a mountain, and it would take more than seven hours to arrive there. I prefer to stay with my ladies then get it, really. What is more valuable than a babe like yourself, my dear?” he replied as he approached her.

“That is very interesting. Which way should I head to?” she replied while trying to walk away from him.

“To the west. But it’s a bit dangerous. It’s been discovered that a powerful creature guards the powder located there.” he replied while trying more and more to get closer to her.

“Oh. Thank you, my leader. I’ll take my leave now.” she happily replied while she looked at the direction of the west through the beautiful window in the Leader’s house.

“I don’t think so. You’ll stay here, all the night. We’re gonna --” he was interrupted while trying to grab her arm.

“Get away. You pedophile. You dirty rat. GET OFF. Or I’ll call the doctor to get you. NEVER LOOK FOR ME AGAIN, YOU HEAR?” she screamed while trying to get his hands out of her arm.

“Oh.. I’m sure y’babe will come back sooon... And then we’ll love each other until I find a prettier lady than you.” he replied as he watched her leaving his mansion.

 

It was finally time for Jason and Vear to go to the airplane. At 12:00p.m, they ate for the last time on Earth. Vear made a special food that day. It was very delicious, according to Jason. They would never forget that day. It surely would mark their lives forever.

 

“Is it good?” Vear calmly asked.

“Yes, truly delicious, grandmother. You really did your best today.” he happily replied, trying to cheer her up.

“Thank you. It’s sad that Keyla can’t eat it as well.” she said while looking at the window, wondering what had happened to her daughter.

“Ehh.. We’ll find her, I’m sure of it.” he replied, trying to get Vear’s hope up a bit.

“Probably...” she whispered, and almost started to cry.

 

Thirty minutes later, Jason and Vear left their home, and looked for one last time to it, and quietly said “Good-bye.”. It was very sad for them to leave it behind. But there was no other way -- they could not stand having that doubt forever. They needed to know what had happened to Keyla.

 

So, they entered in the airplane, and both of them cried when it took off. Their lives would never be the same. No one knew what would be waiting for them.

 

Meanwhile, Keyla slept in the doctor’s hospital, because she said she was very tired, and then he left her sleep in one of the beds. During that night, she actually did not sleep, she stood thinking about what her next move would be. It’d sure be very complicated, but she would be able to plan something terrible in a short amount of time.
