We all know this same question.

 

English dubs are alright for me, as long as 4kids, Cartoon Network, and DisneyXD stays away. (Except Adult Swim. Let them dub good anime.)

 

I don't really mind Japanese dubs that much, I'm watching Digimon with English subtitles. The only thing that ticks me off is that DisneyXD gets Digimon Xros Wars. (ANOTHER SEASON THEY WILL SCREW UP.) Look what they did to Digimon Masters, No one likes "Marcus" since he promotes animal abuse. THAT AND NO GOOGLES.

Me I like both it doesn't really matter and the bull crap excuses like it sounds better in jap. when most don't even understand or speak the language so please how do you really know? Or too lazy to read/ I don't understand what is being saying or w/e.

 

 

There are just as many shitty Japanese dubs as there are English dubs in my opinion

Japanese dub

Japanese dub. I haven't found much of animes I really would like with English subtiles, I can understand little bit Japanese already beacause of watching so much anime with Japanese dubs so I don't need to look subtiles all time. I also don't see anything hard reading subs as I watch anime same time.

Whichever one has the better voice acting. But here's one solution to the problem. I had an anime on dvd and on the Japanese voice for the the main character was great but their love interest was just was awful. But then in the English version the main character was horrible and their love interest was really good. Solution--> I would just switch the audio whenever they were talking, so I watched it both in high quality English and Japanese!

Whatever's availible. For anime, if the dub's availible I'll go to that. If people say it isn't faithful to the source material in any way, I avoid it like the plague. Otherwise, I'd go to the original. Quality seems to vary on both so...meh.

Eh I choose 50/50 I usually dont care unless it's 4kids then I go 100% Japanese dub

I don't mind really depending on which anime we're talking about. With English subs, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, and others sound so much more epic!! English dub tends to make it all crappy except for Adult Swim.

From the very beginning i liked the japanese dubs + english subs more ^__^

now i am watching it without subs, just japanese dubs~ it helped me a lot to improve my japanese

Japanese dubs, TTGL was so much better in the Subbed version!! So intense, then English dub didn't put enough yelling into it!

Unless they know what they're dowing, like in Dragon Ball Z!

When you watch anime,do you prefer sub over dub or vice versa???

 

personally,I'm kinda neutral.There are certain animes that I always watch a dub version of because the dub fit so much into the characters

 

For example,I can never watch Dragon Ball Z in Japanese for many reasons,one of them is Goku's horrible Japanese voice that doesn't fit his age or character,not to mention.,...YOU WON'T FIND SOMETHING AS EPIC AS THIS IN THE JAPANESE DUB

 

 

 

 

 

On the other hand,there are certain animes that I can never watch a dub version of.I simply just can't for some animes no matter how good the dub voices are.

One of my favorite animes of all time.I tried watching an English dub episode of it and it was horrible,I know some people might find it good but it's not as good as the original Japanese voices,not even close.Unfortunately while the manga continued,the anime stopped at episode 102 and I'm trying to be patient before I decide to read the manga

 

 

Anyway,what do you guys think??? Do you prefer Sub??Dub??? or are you neutral ??

When I watch anime, I usually watch it subbed.

Unless it's DBZ, due to the reasons you've already given.

I like some dubs like dtb and fma but in general i loathe dubs intirely and stick with them subs

I cant STAND dbz in japanese, its horrible! Although there are alot of animes i prefer subbed.

Like you, I'm neutral.  I judge which is better at a case by case scenario.  

For the most part, im neutral, i like both. But if it has a crappy dub, ill go with Subs thank you very much. DBZ luckily has a good Jap and Eng. dub in my opinion, so i don't mind. Im still partial to the english dub more than the Jap. one though.

I usually am neutral. I can either like both or I'll prefer the Jap dub.

I am so for sub. Dubbed makes all the characters sound twenty years older than they should be.

I tend to like dubbed more for a lot of anime. I usually watch subbed though, since the sites I watch anime on only seem to ever have the subbed episodes.

For the most part I watch dubs. Subbed episodes are pretty much a last resort for me.

Kinda depends, generally I prefer Japanese dub, but there are some really good English dubs like DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Persona 4 Animation, Trigun, Death Note etc.

I really like English dub of many shows, but I just happen to prefer Japanese dub for some reason, mostly because laughing sounds quite awesome. For example Durarara, Code Geass and stuff. There is nothing wrong with English dub, but I just prefer Japanese dubs with these animes

for the most part i'm neutral with it. as long as i can understand the dialogue then i dont really care, unless the dubbed sounds really bad fairytail  then i'll watch just subbed

I want to LISTEN to what the characters are saying. If I want to read what they're saying, I'll go read the manga. Most animes that I watch have good English dubs anyway. I HATE dub haters, that's for sure. ''omg you like dubs! you are not an anime fan! you suck!'' That's what happens most of the time when you go on an anime site and say that you like dubs. Trust me.. don't do it. People are going to jump on you like a frikken trampoline.

I'm neutral for the same reason you said. I seriously can't stand Goku's Japanese voice either.

 

I only like dubs better when the VA is good. Some example I can't stand to watch the dub over sub is like Megaman NT Warrior. Not to mention they even changed the sound effects that sound cliche IMO.

 

Dubs I prefer over subs, such as Digimon Adventure. It could be because I grew up with the dub, but I don't find the dub bad, even with the jokes.
