Do you prefer Japanese or English Dubs?

Posted

We all know this same question.

English dubs are alright for me, as long as 4kids, Cartoon Network, and DisneyXD stays away. (Except Adult Swim. Let them dub good anime.)

I don't really mind Japanese dubs that much, I'm watching Digimon with English subtitles. The only thing that ticks me off is that DisneyXD gets Digimon Xros Wars. (ANOTHER SEASON THEY WILL SCREW UP.) Look what they did to Digimon Masters, No one likes "Marcus" since he promotes animal abuse. THAT AND NO GOOGLES.

Dubbed if it's available, because I'm not a weeaboo.

  • It really just depends. Cowboy Bebop sounds sexy in English, so I don't mind it. If the main character has an annoying and nearly unbearable voice, then I'd prefer to switch over.

  • There are just as many shitty Japanese dubs as there are English dubs in my opinion, so I prefer both depending on the quality of acting.

Subs, always.

I actually like the japanese dub of DBZ.

I prefer dub. I usually only watch subs if there's no english dub for an anime, like the 2011 version of Hunter X Hunter. But if a dub is really bad, then I'll go with subs of course. :3

I enjoy English dubs. Except when it's a shitty dub, but usually when there's a shitty dub, there's an even better one. At least for the animes I watch.

I usually watch both. If I find a series I like I'll re-watch it in the other language (if there is an english dub). I also have friends that love dubbed and refuse to watch sub and friends who love subbed and refused to watch dubbed. So by me watching both I can get a long with both friends and I am still able to give them recommendations.

English dub or Japanese sub ?For me it depends and which voices suit the characters better imo.Like I rather watch the eng dub of Dragon ball Z than the japanese cause goku kinda sounds funny in the japanese dub.

Japanese VA all sound the same to me... Besides I have to read subtitles and crap so I can't enjoy the action. Besides I prefer watching anime in th language I originally learned. But if its a anime that seems good that's only in SUB, I'm going to watch it. So yeah dub all the way.

I'll take English dubs any times I get the chance, but I am not annoyed if there is only Japanese dubs.

English dub is better,I don't really like japanese voice acting

Is it really that hard to read the subs and watch the show?I have no problem doing that....maybe I read fast?

Dub. Japanese voice acting is way too over the top it's ridiculous and 95% of the time the females have this REALLY high pitched voice that really knows how to irritate and the males either have this overly energetic voice or one that sounds like they'd rather be a million other places.

So when watching anime do you watch it in Japanese with subtitles? Or do you watch it in English?

I don't watch anime- I watch RWBY

Dubbed always dubbed if it's there. It a really big bother to me if I have to read what the characters are saying. It takes my focus away from the actual show -.-

Dubbed cause of reasons.

Except yaoi: subbed then.

Yeah I know the feeling lol. It can get distracting watching subtitles when you're trying to watch the action that's going on in the show.

Dubbed

Subbed. I actually have some hearing problems, so some words that they say in dubbed anime becomes jibberish. Because of that, I can read the subs just fine...in fact, I make very few exceptions to this. SAO, for instance...

I see it subbed, because some animes I see are not dubbed.

Yaoi my crystal meth.
