Well I don't know if there is any thread like this but I'll say it. Today at school I realized sth in Latin. Ventus means Air in Latin and it's the element Ven uses. Terra means Earth in Latin which is Terra's element. And Aqua which means in Both Latin and Itallian water, Aqua's element. This may be a bit usless but I thought why not. I learned this at shcool so why not let people who don't know it learn it

Xion's name was coined by Tomoco Kanemaki, one of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days's scenario writers and the writer of the Kingdom Hearts Novels. Tetsuya Nomura took a liking to it and notes that it has many meanings. Xion's name contains the Japanese words for "tide" (潮 shio?), fitting the oceanic naming theme of Kairi and Naminé, and Aster tataricus (紫苑 shion?), which, according to Japanese floriography, means "I won't forget you" or "remembrance". It is also revealed within the Secret Reports that her "original name" was "No.i", her ID as an experiment of the Replica Program. The "i" used here is in fact the imaginary number.

Naminé's name can also be translated to "sound of the wave" in Japanese, since the character 音 (oto) can be pronounced as "ne". Alternatively, her name can mean "born from the wave", because of the French "né" at the end of her name ("né" is the past participle of the verb "naître", which means "to be born"). However, this may have just been added in the English releases to ensure that her name was pronounced the same way it was intended in the Japanese original.

Aqua, Ven and Terra's name are from Latin meaning the elements Air, Water and Earth (logically they're missing fire from the primary 4, and Ven became friends with Lea so.... when you think about it, Aqua, Ven, Terra and Lea would be closer to each other in terms of age. NEW BESSIES)

Sora, Kairi and Riku's names are from Japanese meaning Sky, Sea and Land (which is what makes up Destiny Island, woohoo)

I prefer to think of Namine's as "Born of the Wave" since she's a Nobody of Kairi (sea).

I recently found out about Xion (already knew No.i) also relating to Shion.

And while we're at it...

More trivia! Destiny Islands can be read as an anagram of IT'S DISNEYLAND! And as everyone knows Xemnas=Man Sex ('cause Xehanort likes little boys), Yen Sid=Disney and Eraqus=Square. Also I think "Even"(Vexen) means ice but I don't know in what language.

and something else if u add the letter H in Kairi's name u can have an anagram of the word Hikari... Hikari in japanese means light and Kairi is a princess of light

And I knew this Sora before our Sora, so I questioned his gender.
