I think I really started to think that Final Fantasy is really such an overrated franchise

 

I missed so many other franchises game that I now find it hard to keep track onto

 

I wasted so much time with it's fanbase that refused to help me in quests and always don't respect my opinion and taste

 

I'm just tired of people forcing me to like the overrated FFVII

 

I'm really sick of endless comparisons between other good RPGs like Zelda and the Tales series to FFVII

 

I'm really sick ot the gameplay style that felt repetitive for 10 entries and had a lot of backtracking with fast travle only unlocked halfway through the game.

 

So,with that.I'm done with the FF franchise from 1 to 13 I just can't stand it anymore

Well, that is your choice. We all have our own styles and tastes.

 

...Though I do think it is pretty tasteful to name White Mages Zola.

Okay, I understand how people say that Final Fantasies are overrated and I agree in most parts, but I have to say that Zelda is pretty over rated by its' fans aswell.

Just saying that this could be on that Final13 thingy

I have to agree with you. There are a few titles in the series that I like, but overall, Final Fantasy is waaay too overrated

I played a few games. It is really nice but nothing I would buy for its full price. I prefer Golden Sun's puzzles.

I'm agree that the gameplay style felt repetitive some times, and that the FFVII is overrated, I personaly don't like some Final Fantasys, and Im sick that SquareEnix is making so many games with so poor quality(cough* FFXIII *cough), and I hope that someday the FF will have a real open world.

 

but thats not reason enogh to hate the entire searies, cuz it still have good games

just take the better of the series, and throw away the bad.

I feel the same way. It's defiantly left its mark, but, uh....doesn't mean its perfect....after all...we all remember FFXIII and FFXIII-2....and the fact that there's gonna be a 3...oh Lord. :mellow:

Actually, all of them are.

It's just that a lot of people like that game franchise that people who dislike it or don't care about it (yet they find it overrated) find it overrated.

But of course that doesn't mean you don't have to like it either.

I respect your opinion, I don't like nor do i hate FF as a whole but I like a few games in particular like FFX and FFXIII.

Respect my opinion and find everything what I write great, fantastic and gorgeous. Otherwise you'd disrespect it. I think it is a bad idea to define respect like that, right?

The only Final Fantasies I ever liked were FF1, FF7, and FF8. Don't care much for the newer ones. I also don't understand as to why there is a trilogy of FF13, it wasn't that great to begin with (my opinion).

They are overrated. Only Wapanese think otherwise.

Overrated=/=criticism. Overshadows other games=/=criticism. Though, I can't say the traditional FF-style RPG style is for everyone. Some people just don't like it in the way I don't like, say, fighting games.

I've played a lot of the FF series (having played 1, 7,8,9,10,12,Dissidia, Crisis Core,Dissidia Duodecim, Theatrythm), and I really enjoyed all of them, but I can see what you're saying. From what I hear about XIII, they are milking that storyline way too much, probably as much as they were milking VII now. Which I don't quite understand, because a lot of people thought it was crappy in the first place.

Well, each game has a different story. They'e not connected to each other in any way. So you don't have to keep track of every FF game if you don't want to. There are other great franchises besides FF that are great.

Honestly I hate the new ones they arent bad but its just too over rated and the story is really cool -____- I liked final fantasy 6 and 4 and 8 wasnt too shitty

As the visual quality gets better, the story just get worse.

First.I played a lot of FF titles both main and spin-offs.

What I meant about disrespecting,is that people uses profaniy on me when I just say the forbidden word FFXIII.I just asked the fanbase for help on a quest in Gran pulse ....I just said that and they started: you're asshole for liking this game,your mother is a bitch because you like FFXIII before I say I even like it.

 

Also they kept attacking me on various sites.The same people and more never left me off just because I liked FFXIII.I understand why people hate it but WHY THEY CAN'T MOVE ON AND ACCEPT THAT I LIKE IT????what's wrong about different tastes???? I never forced someone to like a game I love or hate a game I hate.

 

I've tried to ask help on other FF games like FF9 but they kept bitching about why I like 13 whenever they recognized me on any site.Facebook,youtube,forums,even Sonic fansites.They followed me everywhere just to let me say this sentence:Hate FFXIII or else you are not a proper human.

 

no one know what kind of bullshit I've been through just because of a stupid overrated franchise I started to lose my pride.

Why? if they cancel Versus XIII then the entire FF fanbase would go on a rage and say that the KH team that is working on the game wasted a lot of time. Besides, announcing a new game and then cancelling it for no reason would only make the video game company look bad and hated (just llook at Capcm and MML3). Would you really want Square's reputation to demolish that way?

I heard mixed reviews of Shadow the Hedgehog. A lot of people didn't seem to like his game. Shadow was real pissed when he found out about that. As for Secret rings, it wasn't that great compared to Sonic and the Black Knight. I mean Secret rings wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I mean I was barely shown in that game.

FF fanbase has too many fans that care more about games relating to their nostalgia rather than trying something new.

I don't blame you for leaving the FF series. The series has been going downhill since the creator and composer leave Square. I honestly hate the new FF games now. They don't feel like FF games at all.

I personally don't hate the series but if I go by main titles,

Final Fantasy - wasn't outstanding, predictable plot, neh.

Final Fantasy II - didn't play it.

Final Fantasy III - Haven't played enough of it to warrant if it was good or not

Final Fantasy IV - It was great game, enjoyable characters and was pretty fun.

Final Fantasy V - Haven't played it, I hear it's not that bad though.

Final Fantasy VI - The critics favourite and apparently just outstanding, I sadly haven't had a lot of time with it but I'll pick up on it again, eventually.

Final Fantasy VII - Overrated. I'll leave it at that because apparently my opinion means nothing when it comes to FF7. Like eh, it's an awful game story&Character-wise.

Final Fantasy VIII - It was an enjoyable game and I liked the characters and it was just really fun.

Final Fantasy IX - My personal favourite and a vastly underrated title in the series by "fans of FF" because of that stupid game with 7 in the title.

Final Fantasy X - This game is hit or miss depending on what you are looking forward to, it was a good game in my opinion. Tidus was a bit meh though.

Final Fantasy XI - I've played better mmo's but it was hardly a failure by any means. I couldn't tell you what it was about though

Final Fantasy XII - Again very much underrated in the series. XII was pretty much just an overall fun game and the story was pretty good. I just really liked it.

Final Fantasy XIII - It doesn't deserve the hate it gets, it had its flaws but it was a good game... I dunno how it ended though

Final Fantasy XIV - Looks pretty promising but again I doubt I'll play it based on what ff11 was like.

 

The series has some great spin-off titles and my favourite is The 4 Heroes of Light. I'd love to see Type-0 get released in English though but that aint happening any time soon.

 

The thing that irks me about FF is if I say I like it then I always get asked "oh so you like ff7?" and when I say no then they see confused as to why I like FF then and don't know any other titles to fall back on. I'm so not starting a rant against ff7 again though and it's fine if some people like the game just don't tell me it's the only good game in the series without playing the better titles first.

Well yeah it is considered milking it, but Square knows that it will make them money so they do it anyway. I'm not one of those people who thinks it's a "godly" game, I just think it's an alright game.

Everybody has got different opinions so that's okay. If everybody liked the same thing life would be a bore. Personally I love and adore the FF series, it changed my life for the better. I used to stuck and fail at everything and believed that I was good at nothing, till I picked up a FF game and did really well.

 

I don't like every Final Fantasy though and I think that every Final Fantasy fan looks at some of the FF games and think what was Squarenix thinking, this game is terrible.

 

FF 1- I love how you can choose and pick your own party members and pick between a White Mage or Black Mage etc

 

FF2- I don't really like this game, it's really slow and dull and there isn't much to it. It feels empty and the dungeons are a pain. There's a fight every 2 steps !

 

FF3- I hated this game at first, but it took a while to get into it. It's basically FF 1 with a better story and bigger job class to be honest and harder final dungeon.

 

FF4- This game is amazing and there's tons of different versions of it. Personally the DS version is best. Love Cecil, Kain and Rydia.

 

FF5- FF3 & FF 1 mixed together to be honest. Though still really fun and entertaining. It's not awful or anything.

 

FF6- Really amazing, if you hate or can't stand Final Fantasy play this. It should change your mind. I love Kefka as a villain, he's so silly but also so deadly.

 

FF7- A little overrated to be honest. It has grammar and spelling errors everywhere, and the characters are a dropdown compared to FF 6. Still good though.

Not the best like everybody says though. I only really liked Tifa, Barret and Vincent.

 

FF8- Really, really, really different. I like it because it feels really refreshing and unique. It does have some flaws though, but not as much as FF 7. The characters are a bit better than FF7's though still lacking in development and growth compared to FF 6 and villain while a little tad creepy isn't that great.

 

FF9- Really good. It has my favourite ever video game soundtrack ever made. The soundtrack is beautiful.

 

FF10- Again really good, really emotional storyline. It has no controllable airship or open worldmap though which is depressing though. Why remove that ?

 

FF 11- Haven't played when it came out I wasn't awolled to play Online games, could be good, could be bad. No idea.

 

FF 12- Couldn't get into it. I don't like it.

 

FF 13- AWFUL.

 

FF 13-2 Best Final Fantasy game since FF X, good but not wonderful and not as good as the Golden Age of Final Fantasy. But it's...better....

To me, Final Fantasy is just... meh.
