Posted December 9, 201212 yr Popular Post And let's not forget Gangnam style either. People may like it, but it's still just a guy doing a whacky dance and got more views than such a meaningful song.
December 9, 201212 yr Popular Post Youtube plays isn't a way to justify how good at something someone is, When tupac was around, there was no youtube, it would be different if he was around now. He obviously isn't gonna get as many views as Justin because he is bigger than him now. But still JB sucks and i think this is stupid, but i'm not gonna worry about it, because we all know that Tupac is better than him, Youtube view counts don't determine talent.

You're right, but i just think it's unfair. He was one of the greatest singers and celebs, but there's more people who are concerned about songs like Gangnam style and Baby, baby than Tupac, so i just find that irritating.

But he was in a different generation, all the teenagers could care less about some black rapper from the 90's. But yes its annoying, but if you think about it, it makes sense, but i still don't like it.
December 9, 201212 yr well one of my favorite disco tracks has only 6.5k veiws, if that makes you feel better and im sure many other wonderful musical compositions pre-20th century are lost forever shrugs
December 9, 201212 yr Well many of my favorite bands has just like few million views, mostly because they aren't any mainstream and people still are free to have their opinions and listen the songs they firetrucking want and not songs that have morally good lyrics, because Who cares about lyrics, the musicality is key (although song like Baby has almost zero musicality on it) What is really sad about Gangnam Style is that everyone seems to listen that as some 'joke' song and just because it's cool to listen it right now. People doesn't know any other songs from PSY and no one sees him as artist, just some youtube guy. Edited December 9, 201212 yr by dusk
December 9, 201212 yr I really hope the music industry(atleast mainstream) gets their stuff together. I feel Hopsin, KRIT, Cole, and a few others are our generations hope. And when I mean hopsin, I mean Ill Mind of Hopsin 5, he gothis life on track if you haven't listened to it yet. So good. December 9, 201212 yr Yea, All the greats are being defeated by the new modern stuff ._. Although I do like Gagnam, but still.
December 9, 201212 yr I feel kinda proud saving all Pac's songs released song and some unreleased ones like "Starring through my rear review". Those new rappers are just crabby, 'specially eminem, i don't know why people like him this much, he is nothing but a wannabe-gangster... I found some crazy theories about Makaveli (2pac) "fake" death and stuff, but still his music is just awesome, he wrote his own songs, poems, he was capable of singing rap, AND blues, and his struggling with Badboys records and the gevernment was just crazy. His best song was "Until The End Of Time RP remix", But people also considered "Hit'Em Up" as the best 'cause it's background is the dirrect insults to BadBoys records instead of undirrect songs like "LastOnesLeft" or "All Out" 2Pac was never considered as a nuts gang-banger as new teenager thought, he always made Blues songs with beautiful flow and a attractive story, like "Ghetto gospel" and "Dear Mama", these songs were totally clean with no offencive words. Makaveli represented the colors of West-Side (west-coasts/ the mob / world wide mob / Hell Souljas, generally his gang), that made him a populair gangster with many fans, rough ones, but even old ladies listened to his Blues. But these days Rapper...Pfft "I take you to the candy shop" , Im a superman", they are completely useless, worthless, tasteless, full of honey talk about money, sexuel relationships, and other senseless stuff, that made Rap a inferier type of music since Pac died, Biggie had some motivations, but he was no match to tupac, T.I still struggling to keep the rap up but that's useless...That's a reason why i stopped listening to rap (except Pac, T.I., OutLawz) ever since Gangsta rap died in the end of 90s Instead, i started listening to Rock music, high quality one, Breaking Benjamins, Bon Jovin, Skillet etc... Lyrics In Discription.
December 9, 201212 yr I've pretty much given up on American music except for some singer-songwriter stuff. They all sound the same nowadays and are always about the same things
December 9, 201212 yr Well, I could tell my own history with music: So the first album I ever got was BomfunkMC's FreeStyler, I can't remember my age accurately, but I was really young back then. It was my first grasp on music and I used to listen that a lot. Then, I started randomly to listen CDs from my father's collection and started to like bands such as Deep Purple and Leningrad Cowboys. Then my father bought Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast album and that was first band I started to really admire and love. After that I really started to likes rock and metal music from 70s and 80s. I spent pretty much my whole elementary school time listening bands like that. I grew my hair and started playing bass, I even bought few band t-shirts and I went to see Iron Maiden live with my father and big bro. That time I could not listen anything, but that music, I didn't accept anything else and were really narrow minded about what I listen. On 5th grade I started to play trombone and my music taste started to go more neutral, I didn't hate classical music anymore and I started to find songs from pop, techno and other genres I actually liked. I made band with my brother and his friend and what we first played was Pantera, Iron Maiden and bands like that. I don't know how it happened, but suddenly our interest went to more progressive rock such as Rush and Mr. Big. I really admired how good musicians they were and how skilled they were with their instruments and we started to play music like that and instrumental songs from artist like Paul Gilbert soon after that. After that, I started to listen more punk and alternative music and got into bands like Sum 41, lostprophets, Escape the Fate etc. but my band didn't want to play music like that and I just played it alone and listened a lot of it. I started to like Drum & Bass music more thanks to bands like Pendulum. Then my music teacher asked if I wanted to play few gigs on one Funk/Jazz band and on summer two years ago: I simply fell in love with Jazz music. It is just so magnificent and different from any other music styles I listen and the chords are very awesome sounding.. and those improvisation skills. During this year, I have become more fond of post rock bands like Toe, technical metal bands like Periphery, J-rock bands and some K-pop stuff as well. Now I can't say that there is any genre I hate and I can understand music little bit better and I'm pretty open minded about what I listen, but I have also become very picky about bands I really like. I put some songs in order to these spoiler tags so you can understand little bit better my 'history' with music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb6gdDrGgsM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guYlCLmX59c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-XM6skesqc I could say about million bands/artist I have liked, but I don't want to spend your whole day putting you to listen them Also I don't think that music is going any worse, the music evolves very quickly and most of you probably just don't like those changes and prefer to listen music you have used to. Just search for bands, I find new ones I like all the time.
December 9, 201212 yr at first i was like yep good great but then Instead, i started listening to Rock music, high quality one, Breaking Benjamins, Bon Jovin, Skillet etc... pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftt- (it's funny because he's complaining about the evolution of rap music)
December 9, 201212 yr at first i was like yep good great but then pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftt- (it's funny because he's complaining about the evolution of rap music) I was talking about the type, not the bands/singers. __________________________________________________ Let's continue. There was time when i've always thought that Rock music is sorta lame, annoying, anyways i kept avoiding lsitening to Rock, but i accidentely had an encounter with a song called "His Word" dunno which game was it, but i was downloading a rom of a sonic the hedgehog rom, i liked the song, so i've searched for some more, found some interesting songs based on sonic games such as "All hail shadow" etc. Occasionally i started listening to other rock bands, usually due to anime or game amvs, most of them were "Blow me away", "I will not bow" "It's My Life" "Monster" etc. Post-Scriptum: I'm not complaining, i'm just really upset that rap died, unlike Rock, pop and other populair music types, rap is collapsing...This opinion of mine isn't rare, many people thinks the same, You'll probably find the same think if you read some well-known rap written critiques. ;3

December 9, 201212 yr Instead, i started listening to Rock music, high quality one, Breaking Benjamins, Bon Jovin, Skillet etc... Ehh, Breaking Benjamin is okay, but those few okay songs has been brutally overused in amvs that I can't bear to listen them.. Bon Jovi, kinda enjoyable, has some good songs, but doesn't really stick out for me from other stadion rock bands/artists. Skillet, pretty good band but songs are overused in amvs so I can't really enjoy listening the song of my free will bands like Red is better if we talk about gospel music. Those aren't bad bands, but I can't say those being really high quality ones, but it's your opinion
December 9, 201212 yr What is really sad about Gangnam Style is that everyone seems to listen that as some 'joke' song and just because it's cool to listen it right now. People doesn't know any other songs from PSY and no one sees him as artist, just some youtube guy. Not to mention any K-pop song in general. Most people watch it just to jump on the bandwagon. As with most popular things. That kind of bothers me. Edited December 9, 201212 yr by _The Door To Light_
December 9, 201212 yr In defense of Gangam style, the song is actually about being more interested in girls that don't have to act like total sluts to look gorgeous (in a nutshell). As opposed to 90% of western songs who seem to glorify women who act very trashy to say the least.
And let's not forget Gangnam style either. People may like it, but it's still just a guy doing a whacky dance and got more views than such a meaningful song.
