Video Games these day's have WAY to many tutorials and instructions. I realize that some games you might need it because of how in depth they are, but in most games you really don't need them. You should be able to figure it out on you're own just by trial and error.
Example: Mega Man X - The first level teaches you everything you will need to know in order to play the game. An enemy is coming at you, so the most obvious thing would be to jump over it. You encounter a mini boss, realizing that you cannot jump over said boss means there must be a way to attack. So what do you do? Press buttons until you find the attack button and continue your way through the game. After completing that first level, you now how the game works and plays and the rest is up to you.
Games nowadays have a bunch of text popping up telling you what to do or force you to do a tutorial that detracts from the whole experience of learning what to do on your own. You should be able to figure out everything just by playing the game. Not by a bunch of text telling you that you should "Press A to jump, this will help you clear distances". Of course not all games go by that, but a TON of them do and it's weird. It also takes away the challenge of doing it by yourself.
Plus, if you really are confused on what to do, then there is always the game manual. But it should be used when you have absolutely have no idea what to do.
Well that concludes my rant on video game tutorials and instruction
