Alright, I am now firends with the girl that I like (Props to Amon, you're awesome dude), and her Birthday is comeing up soon. I want to get her a gift, but I don't want to get her something that makes her think I think we're BF and GF. Just something that she'll really like, and I can't think of anything! She loves camo so maybe I could do something like that? Sorry, I didn't have much time to write this so it may be missing alot of things, but I'll be back on tomorrow. See ya!

 

Edit: Alright I want to make things clear: I want to date this girl, I don't want to just be her friend, althought that would be nice. I have very strong feelings for her.

Well, it depends on the girl.  If all else fails, go with the camo.

Think less "what girls like" and more "what this specific person likes" because gender doesn't have a hive mind. If there's something she really likes and you think you can get it for her than go ahead and get it. 

Girls like different things because we're different people (shockingly, we're separated by more than tits and vajayjays).  Instead of asking what girls like, ask what she likes, which only you can answer because we don't know her.  Just think about her needs or her hobbies.

Get her Kingdom Hearts and a PS2, if necessary. Wins all the girls.

If she's into games, anime or manga, get her a copy of either a game/dvd/manga

If she acc is into games etsy has a number of handmade gaming apparel that is just epic, like Zelda's kokiri emerald necklaces

There's tons of other stuff on the site that's pretty neat too, just search through it.

If she's like me and likes whiskey, get her a whiskey flask (i just got one )

If you don't wanna make a big fuss you could get her something like a bath set, perfume set, make up set, like default girl items

And if you're not dating and you're not absolute best friends, then I would absolutely not suggest getting anything big/expensive. No jewelry or anything. Just something really small and cute, like a camo-colored rubber duck or something equally silly.

 

When I liked my ex before I dated her you know what I got her for her birthday? The cap to a snapple bottle, because she likes clicking the top of it. And she loved it. Just don't come on too strong, keep it light but make sure when she thinks of her birthday, she thinks of you too.

It depends on what she's into.

It depends on the person. Different people be they male, female or other like different things. Find out what she likes if you don't already and get a gift based on that.

Camo baseball cap maybe? Unless she doesn't dress with hats like those...if all else fails, I've -always- found that getting someone a favorite snack (like, one they don't get often, like Pocky or something) or a bag of their favorite candy (I would be SO happy if someone gave me a bag of Reese's for my birthday) always works.

 

I say a snack or candy's good, 'cause if you know their favorite, it shows you pay attention enough to care, but it's not a "big deal."

 

And I am a girl. I would be happy as a clam if friends just defaulted to my favorite candy instead of wracking their brains and getting something that is way off of what I actually like.

Like most people said above, it really depends on the girl.  Some girls are all make-up and jewelry, while some are the tomboy sort and dig video games.  Does she like to read?  Maybe some cool new book release that you think she might be interested in would be a good gift.  You could go the video game route, but only if she actually has shown an interest in video games.  That one seems like a pretty big hit or miss though, so be careful there.

 

I wouldn't go anything personal, such as flowers, jewelry, chocolate, et cetera if she's only a friend.  Just get her something that'd you'd give to any friend and I'm sure you'll do fine.  She'll just be glad you thought of her for her birthday.

A cell phone case is also a good choice if it's a particularly interesting one (the internet is the best place to look).  These things are a little difficult if you don't really know her style or her interests that well. Go off of whatever you've seen her wearing or using before.

Only give money/giftcard in addition to another item. Everyone loves it but some people might see it as lazy and it's a pretty forgettable gift, even if they used it to buy something they really wanted. If you want to make an impression on this girl don't just say "Happy Birthday, here's a twenty." If you must do that then write a nice card as well. Just something more personal than money.

But that's just me. I wouldn't bother with fancy or "high-end" chocolate (besides, that sounds more...Valentinesey). Just see if you can squeeze the subject of favorite candy into a conversation. It's really easy, actually. Ask her how she is, she'll say fine, she asks you how you are, and you say fine, but you've been really craving *insert your favorite candy here* Then be like "You know how that is. What's your favorite candy?"
