I know a whole bunch of people probably just picked up a ps3 because of 1.5 and its makes me sad to think that a lot of you wont put it to much use and will only have 1 or 2 games on it.

 

but here's a way to avoid that ....most new ps3 super slims come with a subscription to playstation plus which means that all of you should take advantage of the summer and spring sales coming up. You could probably build up quite a collection of games for as low as $30.

 

my recommendations to get during the sale are:

metal gear solid 2 and/or 3

Tokyo jungle  

Bioshock 2 

castle crashers 

metal slug 

 

these games were all on sale during the winter, fall and last years summer sale so I predict that they will be again.

Must-haves.

I got mine for Christmas just for 1.5.

 

In the UK there was recently a thing IGN did where they gave any new UK users (who haven't had a PS+ sub before) a 30 day trial. My 30 days aren't up yet so it's convenient.

 

I'm quite happy just to have 1.5 and Journey on my PS3 tbh, most games end up being shooters on the PS3/Xbox anyway. I've got that Quantum Conundrum game (it's surprisingly fun), Okami HD (HOW HAS NO-ONE SUGGESTED THAT YET) and Sly Cooper HD Collection (once again, y u no suggest)... and some free trials... but aside from those, I'm good.

Well Bayonetta is ps3/XBox360BAyoneta 2 is Wii U exclusive, and it does suck, but I still agree with it. Without it on the Wii U, it wouldn't be there at all. Neither Sony nor Microsoft would take it

Sly Cooper is a great addition to add to this list. Both the HD collection and the new Thieves in Time. It's an excellent franchise in my opinion, if you can handle a cheesy yet entertaining story.

Uncharted, inFamous, the Mass Effect Trilogy, the new Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed series, the Batman Arkham games, the Journey collection, Portal 2... Also, the PSOne clasdics you get on the store are fantastic. I also highly recommend getting all the PS2 HD remasters.

Those are all great games on the ps3, but I think some people here are missing the point. This is just a suggestion of cheap titles to add to a new system. if they went out and got all the best triple A titles, it would probably cost them more than the system itself....

The PlayStation 3 has a better game library than the 360 and Wii. No doubt.

 

Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy X HD Collection, Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection, Little Big Planet 2, Madden NFL 13 and a ton more.

Actually, I did just get a PS3 a couple months ago, but it was for Final Fantasy XIII, not 1.5 reMIX (I won't deny that the 1.5 reMIX is definitely a great bonus, though!).  Thanks for sharing your list.  Just to clarify, you do have to subscribe to receive Playstation Plus games, correct?

I actually bought a PS3 for KH3... (weird me ;p)

 

But yeah, i started off with playing FFXII:2 and it was soo addicting!

 

But  the PS3 has better games than the ones you suggested.. just saying ;p

Fool. Get the dead space games! They are awesome. Or... get the impossible game. It is very addictive and very fun and it's only 99 cents.

The InFAMOUS series and all dlc content except gigawatt blades (which are free) I got for 30 bucks at Target.

 

Tomb Raider is worth every penny
