PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THATS HOW ITS GOING TO LOOK IN THE 3DS VERSION WHILE WII U ONLY GETS THE HD VERSION THAT LOOKS MORE LIKE BRAWL. I will be SO PISSED at Sakurai if that is what happens.

They did it because the characters would stand out more from the background on the 3DS screen. I'd rather have ugly black lines than not knowing what the shit was going on.

They mentioned EVERY OTHER FRANCHISE EXCEPT THE MOTHERR/EARTHBOUND SERIES. I mean:

 

Ness was one of the original characters from SSB64, and he's been in every game since. Plus, EB is getting a VC release in Fall, so i think he should be in.

 

Lucas was in Brawl, and since EB is getting a VC release, i think he should be in this one too.

I'm just happy there is a portable version.

WHo cares. Megaman is in it. That's all that matters.

Why do graphics matter?

They didn't show all veteran characters, just look at Yoshi, Captian Falcon, or Jigglypuff. I'm certain they will be back, including Ness, but not putting hopes for Lucas.

I honestly do not mind the black lines. I'd prefer them taken out by the end, but as long as the gameplay is good, with good game modes, characters, heck, maybe a story that makes sense if we're lucky. The black lines don't make a difference for me.

i take back what i said. I thought they were going to be as ugly as they were in the 1st trailer, but now they look ok. I would prefer them without the lines though.
