Could Sora be the "Key to Return Hearts"?

Featured Replies

I don't think the matter will be that simple.  If Sora himself is the one who'll save everyone, wouldn't his journey be one wild goose chase if it turned out the power he needed was with him all along?  Oh sure, he could learn stuff along the way in true Kingdom Hearts fashion, but it would seem anti-climactic.  I do believe Sora has a power to unite hearts that no one else has, but I think his journey would be finding something that let him unleash that power.  It's an interesting thought, though, that Sora would literally be the key to unite everything.

It's an actual keyblade. It had to have existed before because how would anyone (probably yen sid) know about it and tell sora to look for it?

...and i loled at that.

No it's Riku. It's why he's immune to the darkness. ಠ◡ಠ

I like this idea.  We all know there is something about Sora that sets him apart from others and this would be one way to show that.  But there would need to be something more to justify his journey, like Dracozombie said.

Well they don't where the "Key" is. Though seeing how Yen Sid is, he probably sended them in that journey, to awaken this power withing Sora. Sending him over many worlds, to awaken this power withing, looking for the "Key", while the "Key" have always been him, the "Key" is withing him, his heart being the key. This journey could take him to worlds where different types of people interact, where old meets new(Pocahontas with the Indians and the Spanish Men), worlds where the dreams that persons holds in their heart comes true(Black Cauldron?), along many others. Little by little showing the ways of the heart to Sora, till he awakens as the "Key" that connects it all, the "Key to Return Hearts".

Eraqus' Keyblade is the key that can open Castle Oblivion secrets, so that Sora can finally return his heart to Ventus, thus restoring Roxas too. Since Roxas had Ventus' heart, Ventus will have all of Roxas' memories too.

My thought process about the "Key" was a reverse of yours. I originally thought it was Sora, but then thought it was the Keyblade of Peoples' Hearts, but never rejecting that it could be Sora. Nomura talked about how Sora will be "transforming" his Keyblade, so maybe, Sora's new journey will end up transforming his Keyblade to the Key to Return Hearts.

It would be a LMAO of wild goose chase....

It would be too easy if that was the answer. Nomura knows how to blow our minds with shit we had no clue was coming, and i feel this is something we can't really predict

Nomura said in his most recent interview that it may not be a physical Key/Keyblade. I honestly do not think it will be.

A fantastic idea, out of aaaaaalllll the kh3 theories i've heard yours actually sounds like it might be true :D

Its not Sora or Riku

Its Kairi....Peoples hearts return when she hugs them

Actually I really could see that happening!

It doesn't sound crazy at all...I thought it was pretty obvious.

Not crazy. In fact it's obvious, predictable and a little bit cliched. Which is exactly why Nomura won't do it. Personally I think it would be cool if Sora was the Key, But I can settle for the Key being something only he can use. Besides, Sora is supposed to be a "normal boy" although, I think that ship sailed a long time ago.

Sora has shown a power to reach out to people in a way that seems supernatural. It may be that this whole journey he is on is the path needed to unlock the greatest light within himself, maybe even the light of Kingdom Hearts, in a way. Also, has anyone considered the potential that Kingdom Hearts may not be a place or object, but rather a person? A conduit of the hallowed light that birthed all worlds?

It might be Eraqus keyblade. Sora is indeed predictable or to easy.
