Who thinks Nomura should bring back the keychains from previous games?

Posted

I think he should. Not only because they are part of the game history, there are some pretty cool ones and there is no reason for them to just have disappeared..

I think they would opt for new unseen ones for a "new feel" rather than old ones.  Sure some old ones will return but I doubt we'll get every previously seen one it'd just give no room for new ones

If we were to get every single keychain in the series, there would be too many!

Sora is on to new experiences and memories as he goes so since keychains are based off those it makes sense to have new ones. Plus new ones are part of the fun of a new game.I'm  sure certain past ones will also surface as well.

Sora lost all of his keychains from KH1, supposedly, when he entered Castle Oblivion. He wasn't able to use the ones he acquired from KHII during the events of DDD given the circumstances, and I doubt there'll be an explanation for why he doesn't have any in KHIII. They're just a game mechanic, really.

Old ones returning: Defaults,  Oathkeeper, Oblivion

That's it, other than those, they'll be making new ones.

CO didn't cause him to lose his memories it was Namine who screwed with his memories and whatnot. All the memories were still there- just misplaced or disconnected in favor of new memories Namine added. They were never permanently lost. When she fixed Sora's chain of memories all this stuff would be restored. As for the ones attained in KH2- the point of putting Sora and Riku in their younger forms in DDD was to have them learn everything from scratch since they were never formally trained. They were to start anew. Again , not permanent..It was temporary till they returned to the Mysterious Tower

Keychains, canon speaking, are kinda hard to talk about. There is no explanation for them dissapearing between games (different from abilities, that all stories explain in their own weird way). Of course they shouldn't include them, it's a gameplay reason, you don't start with everything you had, you have to get weapons, items, etc.

It's not really about your question, but since it was brought up... Keyblades seem to exist separetely, each of them with their own main form. But in game, you can change its shape, and boost it's powers and stuff. The thing is, the changes it suffers are shown in cutscenes (most of them), but are they really canon? I personally think they're not, it's just a way for the game to make you change your weapon, though I have no way to argument on that (even though one could say they're are not mentioned in cutscenes properly speaking, even though in KH1 you actually receive the objects)

As for the topic, I do hope we get to see more old keychains. The feeling of new ones, exclusive to the each game, is what I prefer, because it brings new things and makes everything more interesting, but I feel like they don't ever repeat designs? So maybe making them available for synthesis could be interesting, for a little nostalgia and all, but I definetely wouldn't want to see JUST old keychains.

Don't forget Ultima

Don't forget Ultima

It gets a new design every time though, so it's not really old, but not really new.  It's Betwixt and Between.   :P

Well, that's what I think!!! They could bring the old ones and make new ones too.. Of course the new generation consoles have the power to give us this present!!!

I 'm sure oblivion, oathkeeper and ultima will be in the game. They are KH history.

But who doesnt want new keychains? Its the fun part of the game xD
