Birth by Sleep Volume Two in 2.5 ReMIX?

Posted

As we know, Birth by Sleep: Volume Two got cancelled. We know it was going to be set in the Realm of Darkness.

Now, Nomura said recently that there'll be new scenes that connect Re:coded to Dream Drop Distance. Could there also be new scenes that account for whatever story Nomura was planning for BBSV2? I mean, 2.5 is going to include everything from BBSFM, including the Secret Episode (why would they retcon a secret episode out of existence?), so it'll be a bit weird to have Birth by Sleep -Volume Two- written in the screen, and then nothing happen to it.

Perhaps this is the reason the release date hasn't been announced yet, maybe Nomura is writing the scenes of BBSV2 and doesn't know how much time it'll take, and therefore they can't announce a release date until they have an idea of when this is going to be finished, or else, they would be rushing to complete it fast and leave a rushed plot.

Honestly, there must be a story for BBSV2 and why Mickey didn't rescue Aqua. Dialogue from Re:coded outright Mickey and Yen Sid know where she is (they state only Terra's whereabouts are unknown). I honestly think there's another person besides Roxas, Naminé, Xion, and TAV who are lost, but the only reason we haven't seen so far is because this person doesn't have any direct connection to Sora (Sora physically met Naminé and Roxas, Xion is inside him, and Ven's heart is inside him, which gives him memories of Terra and Aqua), and that this person was planned to be involved in the plot of BBSV2, and may be connected to the reason the King couldn't save Aqua. Perhaps, if Nomura hasn't scratched the plot he thought completely, then it has a chance of it being included in KH2.5.

You can believe my theory or not, but if you remember, by this time last year, KH1.5's release date had already been announced and they had to reconstruct everything from the first game from scratch. KH2.5 doesn't seem to suffer from this problem, from what we know, and Nomura said this time the transition to HD has been going much smoother, and not to mention, that Re:coded is much shorter than Days.

Given all this, there must be a reason for them not being able to announce the release date thus far, and the only one I can come up with is new content, which could be BBSV2.

Birth by Sleep -Volume 2- was never even started, Nomura said there is a story there but they can't tell it at the moment.

I thought Volume 2 was the extra stuff in Final Mix, anyway?

now  that makes a lot of sense considering the fact that something is definitely hindering Nomura, that's why he hasn't released a date

Never heard it was cancelled, thought it was just forgotten for now because they had other priorities.

Well we don't exactly know why no release date was given at this point but maybe it's because of the extra stuff they're adding to re:coded and also the voice recording they have been doing? Or maybe they want to release it in the same month that KH HD 1.5 ReMIX was released?

Well, let's just hope the release date is revealed soon enough

if they dont do that they most likely will do something with bbs vol 2 by the time kh3 is out dlc story maybe?

hmmm... i like the idea, unlikely but fingers crossed :)

If they didn't have time to animate a few fight scenes for the Days film I doubt they'll have the time to produce a whole new game.  I just think it's wishful thinking.

I would think that the BBS v2 storyline would be included in KH3. Who knows.

As you say , Birth By Sleep Volume Two was cancelled . If it had something new for us ,Nomura wouldn't hide it from us . So yeah ,don't worry about it .

I really wished long time ago that Birth by Sleep get its own HD Remaster as KH 0.5 HD ReMIX and include Birth By Sleep Volume Two in it, which makes more sense than having it in 2.5. But oh well none of that will ever happen so..

I guess Aqua's just kinda screwed, and everything's going to be left as is.

It's like Zack Fair in FF: Very sad collateral damage that aided the rest of the story.

BBS v2 may never be more than a pipe dream at this rate.

I agree with, that it sounds more, what word can I use?Legit?Likely?Whatever but I second with that

Now that I think about it, he just said it was postponed. But with his statement that "there will be no other new game before KHIII other than the Remixes", then BBSV2 as a game has been cancelled.

And KH1.5 was released in March. If they wanted to release KH2.5 in March they would have announced the release date already because March is two months away from now.

And I don't think the voice recording for the new Re:coded scenes would delay them this much.

After the release of KH2FM, Nomura said there were four stories to be told. So far, the only untold one from these four is the King's time in the Realm of Darkness, and it's very clear and obvious that BBSV2 was going to tell that story.

When did he say he can't tell it at the moment? I don't remember this.

I never said producing a new game. I said producing a new film that tells BBSV2's story. And, like I said, Nomura said they are having less work with the HDfication this time, so there must be something hindering them.

I don't know. Something tells me that this story would be better told before KHIII. Well, maybe playable Mickey flashbacks like those past missions in X-Men Legends if they can't tell the story now.

But I don't think they would release BBSV2's story after KHIII. KHIII should finish the Xehanort saga, so they can't left an untold story linked to this arc. And given that every KH game has introduced at least one new character, BBSV2 would probably do the same, and it would be weird if this character was absent from KHIII if he/she is linked to the main story.

Ah.  I want that too.  But like a full feature length film (not cutscenes) to be released in 2015, cause they said no more side games so we can't get that and it would bridge the gap between 2.5 and the suspect KH3 release year 2016

And people who want a KH movie will be happy

It could have been DDD before they didn't had this name.

We will know when 2.5 released. They will probably remove it or change it.

Then we also know that DDD will be on PS3/PS4 or mayby WiiU.

This is a very interesting theory you have here, and I agree that it is indeed strange that Nomura hasn't announced a release date for 2.5. Well, whatever the reason, let's just hope Nomura tells us the release date soon, and if BBSV2 is not included, then maybe it would be included in cutscene format in Kingdom Hearts 3, maybe? :O

imo BBSV2 should just be similar to Advent Children. Make it a feature length film about 2 hours long, and should wrap up some of the loose ends that a second game would have. For example, why mickey or yen sid didnt save aqua, who the dream eater red eyed guy is, what eraqus is doing inside terras heart and what happened to him after terranort got nobodied/heartlessed etc. I think this would serve the purpose fine of telling the story of what would have happened after BBS. And it would look amazing basically the entire movie would like the games openings, and you could see the emotions and subtleties of the characters more that in-game art. The movie should just come as a second disc with 2.5 or come out in 2015 or It could come out at any point between now and when kh3 releases because it would not break Nomuras promise about there being no more GAMES before KH3. Im interested to see what someone else thinks about my idea.

Maybe BBS Vol. 2 isn't going to be called that. Like how the title for FF Versus 13 got changed to FF15.

So they could be making one (yeah right).

KH III could switch back and forth in time.

Or other words Dream Drop Distance.

They may just change the whole credits.
