I have a strong feeling that Castle Oblivion will make a return as a key world in KH3 as ventus is resting within it. I think Sora and company will have to rescue Aqua first from the realm of darkness because she is the only one who knows where the chamber of awakening is. After that i think the gang will return to Castle Oblivion but they wont remember anything because Namine messed with their memories and restored them to just before they arrived in Castle Oblivion in Re:CoM. Overall, i have a really strong feeling Castle Oblivion will return in KH3. Possibly even using a remix/variation of this battle theme from Re:COM

Yes , I  think Castle Oblivion will make a return because this world has a really important part for the story's progress . And what is this part ? As you mentioned in your post , when Aqua gets rescued , she can actually find Ven and wake him up .

Ventus is inside there, and what it was before C.O is very important. So definitely.

It's going to be in KH3 because Ventus is in there.

Yeah. It's pretty obvious that it's returning.

If you can't reach it, you will see it in video (something like Disney Castle for kh1 and Destiny Islands for kh2).Obviously, the more worlds you can visit, the better the game is.

One question though: If Sora and Riku went to C.O. how come they didn't get Ventus???

Castle Oblivion will eventually turn back into the Land of Departure when Ventus wakes up.

Because the room that Ventus sleeps in is in a secret place that no one knows about it except Master Aqua. Plus, Sora and Riku didn't get the time to investigate more through the castle since each one of them has his own concern (Saving Namine/Kairi and Killing Ansem SOD).I do believe that Castle Oblivion and Land of Departure will definitely appear in Kingdom Hearts III since they got an important rule.

That's true. I think that other organization members were looking for ventus. This is mentioned in 358/2 days.
