My grandma bought it for me for my birthday because it was on sale at walmart. The first game.

My father brought it to me randomly with another game as a gift when he travelled somewhere outside of my country and returned back.

I randomly found Chain of Memories standing in our local store. Played it and thought it was a stand alone game (to think this was the worst mistake ever!) then years later my friends told me i was wrong and they forced me to play KH 1 thinking about this is a critical in my nostalgia

My father bought it randomly.

That was one of his best decisions he has ever made (for me at least).

Saw the first commercial.

Commercials for the first game. I didn't really care about it then, though. I saw my cousin playing it shortly after release, and, well... You can guess what happened next.

I saw my uncle playing kh2 and that's when I started to get into the series a long time ago. 

I saw the commercial for Re: coded. 

Fool. Saw it for rent at a video store.

My brother had the game, I think he got it for Christmas or something

My godfather had me play it one day. Been hooked onto it ever since.

Never regretting the decision to keep playing it.

I saw my brothers played the first and chain of memories when I was younger.

I was very young, me and my sister wanted to play the sims so our parents said "not on our computer, get a playstation or something". So my sister and I put our savings together and bougt a second hand PS2 togehter with fifteen games.I only cared about the sims bustin out or whatever it was called, until my sister and I got bored with it and started some of the other games. One of those games was Kingdom Hearts, found out two/three years later there was also a Kingdom Hearts 2, that was one of my best discoveries ever.

I... actually dont remember o-o.

 

i remember that i had 358/2 days as my first kh game, but i don't remember where, how, or why

I was Eight. It was Christmas Eve and we were over at my cousins' house. They got a few of their gifts early, so they got 365 Days Early. It perked my interest, so I bought it. No regrets.

My older brother introduced it to me... biggest mistake he ever made

To be honest, I found Kingdom Hearts by pure chance of sheer luck!  In 2006, I went to a Sam's Club store, and my mother offered to buy me a video game, and so I was looking in the video game section, when I saw that Kingdom Hearts 2 was behind a glass case along with other games.  I asked the clerk about Kingdom Hearts 2, and as she explained the game, I grew more interested in it, and she said I wouldn't understand it if I didn't play the first game, but I said: "It's okay, I'll still play it though!"  And from that day on, I have loved the Kingdom Hearts series ever since.  And to think it all started in a Sam's Club store.

Saw the TV Spot on Disney Channel and absolutely fell head over heels for it

I first time heard of it while reading a Donald Duck magazine years ago, there was an article of the first game but even though I was a bit interested in it, I wasn't that much that i would've actually thought of buying or playing it. Then years after that i heard that my friend had played kingdom hearts and loved it and she recommended the games to me and even borrowed the first two games to me so could play and so i started ^^

I was walking around the mall when I passed by a Gamestop that had the KH2 poster on the front window.  The fact that it cool-looking teenagers and evil versions of Disney characters made me want to buy it.  Mickey wearing that black cape just gave me that impression.

If there really were evil versions of Disney characters : O It'd be cool. Like, evil princess Aurora or Snow White..

A friend of my big sister said KH1 was good and we should play it. She was not wrong.

It was on one of the trailers on a VHS tape that I had. Not sure which one but it was definitely a Disney movie
