Nope.. It was an awesome game and ONE of the best KH games so far.. But I and many others consider BBS the very best

  • I kind of feel like the first KH is slightly better than KHII, and I know a lot of people will jump at me for it.  I don't know, I just feel like because KH wasn't setting out to create a huge, comple

It's my favourite in the series

AS IF! That was where Sora looked the most cool, but the best game for me is BbS. Gameplaywise and specially storywise.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix version is probably the best KH made so far. Also, IMO, I think this game has the best gameplay ever seen in any ARPG game. So yes, my favourite indeed

nope, It's ONE OF MY FAVORITES.

and my favorites are.. kh2, khbbs and 3d ....

and 3

I will love it...

because I wait for f*@@$% years for it.. keh keh keh

I'm not, I just loved BBS more, loved command melding, command deck, sticker collecting, having a mage based character (in any MMO I always choose mage) and even D-Links I liked.  KH2 is a close second

Yup, Kingdom Hearts II is definitely my favourite Kingdom Hearts game. I loved everything about the game, from the cutscenes, to the fun boss battles, the drive forms, the new worlds, and not to mention the 1000 Heartless battle was really fun! However, Birth by Sleep is a very close second for me.

Kingdom Hearts II is very high-ranking on my list. I loved this game a lot. My first few playthroughs, though, I wished it was a little more like Kingdom Hearts. I hoped for the Trinity "mechanic" to be brought over and used, but it didn't happen. At first, I had a dislike for reaction commands, as I felt like they played the game for me, rather than letting me play it. However, I loved venturing through the worlds, I loved the story, and I just enjoyed the game overall. Now I can safely say that Kingdom Hearts II is my second favorite Kingdom Hearts title, just under the original, but Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix would definitely be my favorite once I played it, I think.

I always find best and worst as very subjective observation, it's more personal as a say my most and least favourite depends on, besides people's perception of best quality is different focusing on their preferences.

Gameplay wise is KHII, KH1, BBS and DDD (the last 3 are my faves).

Storywise is KH1, BBS and 358/2 Days (and I don't even like this one much, just the story)

most immersive is KH1, KHII, BBS and DDD.

Balance wise is KH1 and BBS (with 2.5 on the way, BBS graphically and audio will be much better).

Everyone who claims otherwise has never experienced the godliness that is 2FM's gameplay. So much crazy shit you can pull off with that.

No I'm not. It's actually the KH game that was the biggest disappointment for me.The gameplay is merely action, with no exploration nor interaction with the surroundings like what were were used to in KH1 and CoM (and it was brought back in the following games).

The story is also full of plotholes (Maleficent's return, the fact that Atlantica completely ignores what happened in KH1, the celestial locks that come out of random objects, Riku and Kairi's keyblades that come out of nowhere...), and was barely corrected in KH2fm (which made the actions of Organization XIII clearer, thankfully).

BBS explains why riku and kairi have keyblades, kh2 just left you with questions which were answered in other games. maleficient returned because of the crow's powers.

It's currently tied with BBS.

The command deck adds for more RPG elements and cooler skills, but KH2 was far more action-packed. Also, having a variety of party members is also a nice thing.

My favorite games in the serries are: kh, kh2, and kh bbs.

Yes. And the final mix version just makes it more obvious.

I love all Kingdom Hearts equally because every single one has its own charm! Kingdom Hearts I is the best for the "field gameplay", hence the gameplay outside the battle. Not that KH I has a bad "battle gameplay", in fact I love it, but I can't deny it's not the smoother. Furthermore, KH I is the best for amount of feelings: one of the things for which the Kingdom Hearts Saga is known, is the feelings factor. But Kingdom Hearts I is the one that conveys the higher amount in quantity and variety: when playing KH I, I sense a constant note of nostalgia, I can feel the variety when accomplishing the numerous side quests, I can feel a general and powerful mystery factor - especially when resolving the many dilemmas - but I can still feel simplicity despite the game is quite complex like every Kingdom Hearts game. I could spend hours just walking in Traverse Town because I feel like I'm actually there! KH I is challenging, in my opinion the only one that has been designed to be intricate, the only one that hasn't been simplified for the noobs to allow a vaster audience to experience the series. There's more I could say about KH I, but I could talk at length. Simply, Kingdom Hearts I is, and will always be, the symbol of the Saga. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories is the best for its "battle gameplay" variety: you can literally make hundred moves with one Deck! Kingdom Hearts II has the best overall action factor and has the most gamer-friendly mechanics. Furthermore, is the best for its ability to transmit a very deep sense of "imminent end", like you really feel the pressure of the final battles (even if we've then learned that the end of Xehanort's Saga is still far over time, awaiting in Kingdom Hearts III). Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days is definitely the best for its overwhelming note of sadness, even stronger than the one that Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep gives. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep is the best for its strong dark note: despite this isn't the game with the most higher amount of darkness going around the worlds, it has the higher amount of darkness in the story. I also think BBS probably has the best story telling so far, being very revealing and complex but definitely clearer than the story narrated in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. Kingdom Hearts Coded has the best platforming and vintage element, being the most similar to Kingdom Hearts I in term of "field gameplay" (not for the actual gameplay, rather for the feels it gives). Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance has the best "battle gameplay" in my opinion, being the sum of all the other gameplays (hence the Kingdom Hearts III precursor). KH3D has also the most revealing story, despite its complexity: we indeed learn a great amount of new things, but this chapter brings more questions than answers (which means a GREAT amount of questions, considering the high amount of anwers). I could have said much more for each chapter, but this reply is long enough as it is xD

Well i haven't played through every single one of the KH games, i have played KH II. But i do not rate it as my favorite.

its a tie between BBS and DDD.

Kingdom Hearts 2 is an excellent game to the series, but it is not the best KH game.

Yep I really love KH2 but KH1 is coming really close in a lot of aspects

Or, you know, we just prefer the features in KHI that were completely ignored in II. That's how it is for me, anyway. I prefer the strategic play over the flashy button mash attacks in II.

Ask the speedrunners, most of them far-and-away prefer 2 (especially FM) to 1 precisely because of its so-called "flashiness" (I'd rather call it streamlined). Here's some sample channels you should check out.

KH1 is really clunky in comparison; it's ironic that you call KH2 a button-masher when that's more or less what 1 ultimately boils down to (with some Aeros and Cures thrown in when needed).

Yeah I completely agree with you about the story, KHII was the game where the story really began to become what it is now, I haven't played KHII in a long time and so I think when 2.5 comes out I will have to rethink my opinion on it, it's also one of the few I haven't played all the way through on the hardest difficulty which is always fun so that could be why I remember it as being too easy

Same I've never played on the hardest either I'm going to replay it soon, because I'm redoing the series.

So... Because some speedrunners prefer KHII, I should too? I don't quite see the logic there. I personally prefer KH1's gameplay, it's much more strategic. The magic actually felt useful too, unlike KHII where all I'd ever use was Cure. Also, even on Proud, II felt like it was literally just mash X with the occasional reaction commands (Which I hated). The only KH game I found easier was BBS.

Play FM on Critical then (and don't claim you don't have access, it's easy if you have a semi-decent computer), you'll be thinking much differently; you go into it with a button-mashing mindset, you're gonna be corrected very quickly (or you can try some of the bonus bosses; they'll tear button-mashers apart). And the majority of sites/polls/etc. I've seen easily favour 2's gameplay over 1's, so evidently it did something right. (yes I am biased because 2FM was what sold me on the series gameplay, but I've played through 1 more than I care to admit [for recording purposes] and it still feels clunky as hell)

Also, I'm not quite sure if you've actually watched the videos I linked to; they show off just what you can do in 2FM; I've not seen similar displays for 1, despite that supposedly being the "more popular game".

I don't have access because I don't emulate games. Why the heck do you need to try so hard to convert me to like one over the other, anyway? I'm not telling you you NEED to like I better. I personally prefer KHI, is it really such a bad thing?

You directly responded to my post with a counter-claim, of course I'm going to defend mine.

BBS explains why riku and kairi have keyblades, kh2 just left you with questions which were answered in other games. maleficient returned because of the crow's powers.

It explains WHY they got a keyblade, not how and when. Riku just uses his without any explanation, and Kairi gets hers from Riku out of nowhere. It's the kind of things you expect they'd make a big deal out of. As for Maleficent, no it was never explained. The only time they gave a clue was in a book, and we don't know if it was canon. And even if it was, how come Diablo was able to bring her back ? What kind of link is there between them, why was it triggered by the three fairies' memories ?Of course some of the plotholes from KH2 were explained in later games, but that's actually an indication of how flawed it was. They realized how much they had f*cked up.And they never explained why the Celestial Locks came out of random objects. It could be said that they were items linked to people's hearts, but the Jewel in Agrabah, the card in Hollow Bastion and the bubble in Atlantica ruin this theory. And even this doesn't explain why they conveniently activated once you had finished the world's story.
