Can people seriously not find the major flaws in DDD's plot?

Posted

It's major reliance on retcons that devalue almost every plot point in the series thus far, it's poor use of time travel, and having another organization XIII because Nomura can't think of anything better.

This plot was RUSHED. That's all there is to it. It was extremely convoluted and confusing, and I shouldn't have to go on the internet to understand it.

Yeah sure ok whatever. the flaws still won't stop people from liking the game.

I was more fond of Re:Coded than I was DDD, to be honest, but it was still really fun and I loved it.

I already knew the flaws after getting past Traverse Town. I praised DDD the day I got it. But after that I realized how bad I wanted to skip the CS, I couldn't stand it, which is weird because I skipped the scenes in KH2 even though those scenes were awesome. Whelp. The game is still beast!

Yes the story has flaws, but the overall story of the series has had more flaws with each new game and I don't see complaining about those. So what does it matter if DDD has some flaws?

I see the flaws. But I don't really care about them. I still enjoyed it.

I like the game itself, but the story made my head hurt at first

Actually, we're just really accepting of the flaws. There's a point where you could complain, but it's been two years...

By the way...it's not at all convoluted or confusing.

I never had a problem understanding it. xD

I loved the plot, it's the first step to an amazing story in KHIII

I didn't understand why they were at the destiny islands or why they looked like kids, and why old xehanort was there instead of Terra Xehanort

Yeah i could see why people would have a problem. I just try to go with the flow.

your just now noticing the plot is full of holes? the series was a confusing mess ever since kairi went full emo and lost her heart in the start of KH1

The only thing I didn't like about DDD was the Drop System. But it was fun in my opinion. lol

I'm not gonna waste my time on this anymore, lol

Well, after taking the time to learn how the KH storyline works in preparation for DDD's release I wasn't too baffled by it...but I was a little confused by I didn't let change my opinion of the game so I looked into the somewhat confusing stuff a while after it came out and now I'm perfectly fine with it.

There are other flaws sure, every game does, for example: The Hunchback of Notre Dame world was handled poorly and had the menace known as Wargoyle (Trust me, I'll get to him later), I initially didn't like Julius and I didn't know who the hell he was (I do now to both) and the Time Travel wasn't exactly polished...I still loved the game though. :)

The KH story is so ridiculous and stupid at this point I don't care anymore. The game is fun that's all that matters to me.

Devalue "almost every plot point in the series"? Well, that's a huge exaggeration. As for the new Org, I don't particularly mind. In fact, I'm happy about it. Any chance to see Larxene again is good news for me. Plus that means a VII vs XIII battle royale in KHIII? Sign me up! Besides introducing a new villain or set of villains now wouldn't make sense considering how close we are to the end.

And yeah you shouldn't have to go on the internet to understand it. But that's a 'you' problem, not a flaw of the game that you can't keep up with the story.

and yet. You just did. Posted Image

A lot less than usual though 8D

I really loved the whole "true purpose of the organization" and honestly, the time travel is used very creatively. It is EXTREMELY CONFUSING. But if you analyze it very carefully, it all makes sense and works out. Did DDD have the best story of the series? No. Was it the worst? No. does the gameplay make it one of the best games in the series? YES. Nomura can do whatever he wants at this point, we are all gonna keep eating it up haha.

I didn't understand why they were at the destiny islands or why they looked like kids, and why old xehanort was there instead of Terra Xehanort

They explained why RIku and Sora were on the Islands again, with the flashbacks to talking with Yen Sid that came shortly afterwards. That's not hard to put together. Plus, what's a better way to open up the game? A long boring lecture about the MoM by Yen Sid to Sora and Riku, or a fight with Ursula? I think that can be easily forgiven.

There's no plot holes there's only NOMURA LOGIC!

People are aware of the flaws, they just don't care
