FFX games replace FFVII games as highest selling in the series

All versions of Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 have now sold a combined 15.29 million copies worldwide not including digital.

 

All versions of Final Fantasy VII, Dirge of Ceberus and Crisis Core have sold a combined 14.94 million copies worldwide not including digital.

 

All numbers provided by VGChartz.

 

Just for reference, X/X-2 HD Remaster was the top selling title on the PlayStation Store in March while FFVII is one of the highest downloaded emulated titles on the PlayStation Store while the PC version has also enjoyed strong sales.

HELL YEAH!!! i mean like the story for ff10-3 is out there in the audio drama so yeah i hope sosince ff7 sales has been beat does't this mean the conditions that square made for a ff7 remake have been met? will we finally have a final fantasy 7 remake?

Then clearly you didn't understand. Because it has ALREADY been remastered in 1080p.

 

You can either play the PC version, wait for HD emulation on PS4, wait for the iOS and Android versions or wait for a full remake.

 

And in regards to VII's team, the team was disbanded after the game was finished since most of the people working on it were contractors.

 

Square didn't keep teams intact until X, XI and KH.

Sadly X's Battle Director left Square Enix after XIII. I wouldn't mind either system.

Have you played the PC version? It really isn't worthy of the word remastered. The only thing about it is the character models are cleaned up. The backgrounds are the same as the original version but stretched out so they look terrible. When they release a version with hand drawn backgrounds or something I'll call it a remaster.

They had people in their art department work on the remaster. Haha.

 

That would be getting to the stage of a remake. Like I & II's remakes. Not a full remake, but a remake. And I can't see Square Enix doing that when the demand is for a remake that'll look as good as Advent Children Complete.

Well it would sure as hell pay off with how great the sales would be. More people want a VII remake than XV.

To be quite blunt, I don't like you internet attitude. You come off as rude. For example that thread that Liamaru(sp?) made about FFXV graphics in KHIII

I am tired of people harping on XIII. If you don't like it leave it the firetruck alone. Wait for another one. Final Fantasy is not made for everyone to like. There are 37+ different Final Fantasy games, not too many like every single one.

The PC version of FINAL FANTASY VII is in native HD. That's the best you're going to get for awhile because it would take ages to remake VII

That's true. Just up to Kitase, there's no way on earth they could do it without him. I can't see Toriyama, Nomura and Naora being able to do it by themselves.
