Final Fantasy Explorers is similar to a hunting-action game, but will have a range of features from the Final Fantasy series such as job classes, summons, and magic. The latest issue of Jump magazine shares additional info for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

The magazine shares the latest details on jobs such as the Time Mage that can use support magic to help allies and Ninjas that utilize speed to their advantage.

Jump also shared a bit on some new Summons, starting with Ramuh who uses electric attacks and teleporting abilities to give players a hard time. Fenrir has also been revealed, and its speed is second to none, and it will use water-based magic to damage players.

Additionally, the magazine report also details a new “Trance” system, a powerful ability that lets you do things like temporarily pull off special attacks without using AP or temporarily gain increased parameters.

Finally, it’s been announced that Final Fantasy Explorers will be released on December 18, 2014 in Japan for Nintendo 3DS.

I keep forgetting about this game... which is probably not a good thing. Not as interested now, but maybe when release time comes I'll check out the reviews.

There'll be a demo.

I can't find anything online about that. Is it for real? I need to know!

Yes, it's straight from Square Enix North America. They haven't done a press release for the collector's edition just yet. Expect one next week.

I think I've seen that footage during E3.

A Final Fantasy game rated E10+?

WHAT IS THIS SOURCERY

Every single one of them before VII was rated E or E10+. Don't see why this is such an odd thing.

The Australian distributor for Square Enix video games has re-confirmed the Final Fantasy Explorers collector's edition is exclusive to Square Enix's Online Store. And yes, that means it's also exclusive to North America & Europe.

Square Enix has confirmed in-game content will be exclusive to the collector's edition of Final Fantasy Explorers which is also exclusive to the online store which can only be purchased through in North America & Europe.

In other words, multiple countries can not access the content in literally any way. Not even DLC.

I can further confirm now that the game will NOT be available in German, Italian or Spanish. They won't be releasing the 3DS port of FF1 either.

Looks really cool, I'm really looking forward to this game

I really cannot wait for this to come in. I'm looking forward to that soundtrack.

Meghan Sullivan has had some incredibly dodgy reviews (*cough* Steins;Gate *cough*) for IGN and that review is no different. Her tone throughout it is grating to listen to. I'm glad the dislike bar is visible on that video. The girl really can't review and she's not the only one at IGN either.

Her review for X/X-2 HD was great imo but I'm bias there. But I agree her review here was bad.

So my one complaint is that the DLC that is limited only to he collector's edition is just in game content locked behind a serial code. It's not even dlc and to make matters worse, if you delete the game save (I haven't but I'm just putting this out here), you lose the weapons/content. You can't get it back, codes are one time use and are not DLC so you can't redownload anything because you never downloaded it in the first place. This is content only available via codes supplied by the Collector's Edition which is only available on square's website. Great job on this one, Square Enix...you are the absolute best at this content locking bullshit. So anyone who wanted the content, know that it was wrongfully withheld from you as it is in game content that requires no download, just serial codes to make them availabe.
