Ooh, might actually buy it then

Only thing that could make it better is if they updated with higher quality textures and stuff too

Oh, and speaking of XIII-2, does anybody know if the high resolution models are being used for that game, or if they're going to use the lower quality models the console version uses?

Won't know that until they release it. Which is only a week away.

Since this is just a port I bet it will be the lower quality models.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for supporting FINAL FANTASY XIII.
A new update for FINAL FANTASY XIII was released on the 11th December 2014.

Update contents:
- Custom rendering features (720p, 1080p etc.)
- New graphics options

Caution: Depending on your PC environment, some graphics options may cause the game processing to slow down considerably or prevent it from booting up at all. Remember to use the most suitable settings for your PC’s specifications.

We hope that you continue to enjoy FINAL FANTASY XIII.

Finally! 60FPS 1080p, I am ready :D

...Thats great... if only FFXIII was good....

Well it's kinda hard to beat some of the most popular JRPGS of all time. Hate on XIII as much as you want, it's not going away.

...yes... but... its not even really a good JRPG... and it is made from Square. It tried to appeal to a more wider, casual, simpler demographic... and I don't think that kind of stuff should be encouraged... there is a balance... but it shouldn't take away from what a FF game is about, which is planning, strategy, balancing and optimizing party members against challenging foes... while exploring large worlds and finding secrets for treasure...  instead of running down a hallway, facing a monster and auto fighting it, switching back and forth between an average of two paradime shifts... one for healing and one for attacking... and then winning... and I'm not just jumping on what others say about the game, I've put about 60hrs into it and beaten it.

It's definitely my least favourite FF, but I still think it's a good game. The story is okay, though it's kinda dumb sometimes, some of the harder missions require actual strategy and timing, and the linearity lessens when you reach Pulse. But yeah, after Lightning Returns, XIII is the worst FF.

Happy B-day FFXIII! You and your sequels come and see us on PS4 real soon okay? :)

Well, Happy Birthday FFXIII.

Even though I never finished you or never played your sequels... Oh well.

The team behind FINAL FANTASY XIII was mostly the team behind the FINAL FANTASY X series.

If only it had the same battle system I would like it more.

The game also received plenty of praise for its graphics, music and story.

I honestly wonder why. It must be from the new fans it got, or maybe they praised it because it received a total change in its direction.

Last year, FINAL FANTASY XIII was released onto the PlayStation Now streaming service along with FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 allowing it to be streamed on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV and select TVs. FINAL FANTASY XIII and FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 were also ported late last year to PC and Square Enix's Dive In streaming service for iOS & Android with LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII expected to launch on these services very soon.

How will those even play?

Unfortunately, X's combat system isn't going to make a game sell 7-10 million copies any more. XIII's combat system was an evolution of X's.

What are you talking about? XIII's graphics are amazing, and it's music and story are top notch.

Custom touch screen controls. Easy. Working well according to reviews.

But why not? People don't like turn-based RPG's anymore? Atleast let us control the entire party instead of just one person.

I should have bolded only the music part because that's what I was refering to. Thing is, every FF until X had Nobuo as the composer. So it's natural that XIII will sound quite different. Which makes me wonder if that's the reason it was praised.

Edit: I really look forward to music in games. If I like it then I tend to listen to the OST quite often. But XIII's just didn't click for me.

Too bad Nobuo doesn't work with Square that much anymore and instead works with Mistwalker. I wonder if the reason he doesn't is because he liked to work with Sakaguchi instead.

People do, make no mistake of that. But it's not mainstream, as in you can't expect it to sell FFX numbers anymore. And even with XV, it's only one person controlled.

He still does work on FF games, he worked on XIV. XIII's main composer worked on X as well. And nah, this composer's still very good too.

XV is more like an ARPG like KH though. So that makes sense.

Makes me wonder what kind of battle system XVI will have considering it's being made (probably) by Ito who made most of the numbered game's battle systems.

Fun fact: Apparently he didn't work neither on X nor XIII. I wonder why.

Anyway, it might be like XII.

Yeah, I think it will evolve off XII's.

He didn't work on X or XIII because he was far too busy. In the case of X, he was directing IX and during XIII's development he was still working on XII and for XIII they had X's battle system designer do it.

Finally we are free of Toriyama's grip.

Hope he never directs any FF again.

Bahahahaha.

He's on the Final Fantasy Committee, so good luck with that.

My first PS3 game. I enjoyed every second of it.

But the sequels were too much.
