Huh, and here I thought nobody ever celebrated their 5th. Way to go XIII! :D

This thread reminded me I've had the game for 3 years and never played it.

It managed to fail with such an all star team ?

I honestly wonder why. It must be from the new fans it got, or maybe they praised it because it received a total change in its direction.

I can pretty easily hazard a guess why

Fail isn't really an accurate description

All of the games sold really well

and the series is really popular

But the internet hates it

I don't get it. It just doesn't hit me.

Not like this does.

PS: Wow damn, apparently I'm not the only one in here that doesn't like it that much.

It was too linear, the characters weren't that great and the story wasn't good as well. The graphics were nice though and the music O.O

Ofc the series is really popular, still FF XIII didn't deserve the high score reviews it got IMO just because it's Final Fantasy and I really wanted to like it.

Unfortunately, X's combat system isn't going to make a game sell 7-10 million copies any more. XIII's combat system was an evolution of X's.What are you talking about? XIII's graphics are amazing, and it's music and story are top notch.Custom touch screen controls. Easy. Working well according to reviews.

Xiii had impressive graphics that almost hold up even to current gen standards, and the music is fricken gorgeous especially blinded by light(love me some fast tempo violin) but story... Not even close to the magnificence of past titles, im not really a fan on how they forced every character to fight for the exact same reason, because some god told them to, i understand that they had underlying reasons, but you cant deny that the l'cie focus was the main reason they all worked together. It didnt feel as natural as previous titles had you form youre group. I honestly felt like the real party forming was gaining the eidolans, now that was very well done. Another thing would have to be the enourmous amount of backstory hidden behind the datalogs that if you didnt read, most of the game, and its sequels wont make any sense, nor will the ending as to how they break free from cieth form, that could have easily have been remedied by actually allowing explorable cities where npcs would be able to tell ius the history, and interpretations of that history,of that world. Other than cid raines, every other villain was unmemorable, that jihl woman, rosch, just pointless. And when it came to barthadelus...ever since i saw that supernatural episode where the angels are crying about how their god left them, thats the onlyway i can picture barthadelus now...just crying...like a child because daddy isnt sitting on his throne and he has to stand on his own two feet without help.I would talk about characterization of the main cast,... But im just going to say you did good sazh, you were the only three dimensional character from the entire cast, fang was close behind you, but she just barely couldn't escape 2D exit velocity.

Final Fantasy XIII is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Distributed by Broadmedia Corporation, it runs on smartphones and tablets thanks to G-Cluster Global Cloud Technology, meaning you'll need to be connected to the Internet in order to play.

The app is free to download and try for the first 30 minutes, with a 2,000 Yen in-app purchase allowing users full access.

The game was previously only available on iOS & Android devices through Square Enix's Dive In streaming service.

Wait so its a demo?

Oh that makes a bit more sense, I was about to say if it was the entire game then damn.

No, it's the whole game. You simply get to play 30 minutes for free like a trial and then pay 2,000 Yen to get full access to the game.

I MUST HAVE THIS. I'm amazed how they're able to put a PS3 game on a phone though. Hopefully they bring this to the NA Google Play Store.

They're developing a PS3-quality game for smartphones.

Are you talking about Mobius? That game seems interesting so I hope they bring it over too

How the hell is that possible? Are phones that powerful now? What are they, portable mini-computers?

Yes, a lot are. They're even developing Mobius Final Fantasy with the quality of a PS3 game.

It's not on the phone, the game is run on a cloud & streamed to your phone .

"Now experience the most horrible FF game on the GO!"

Impossible, some are only in Japanese. :P

You can not honestly tell me you've played 60 or so FF games.

Well I meant FF 1-13 lol

You aren't installing the game to your device, it's streamed to the smartphone via the cloud. Square Enix recommend you use minimum 3mbps to get the best experience.. or something.
