Square Enix have once again done the unthinkable. As many of us have probably know, the upcoming Type-0 HD would be accompenied by an exclusive demo of Final Fantasy XV which intrun added more value to the overall package. Today, Square Enix have announced that the demo codes accompanied by the game will be extremely limited and only distributed to first batch of copies. 

"First, as Tabata-san said in a recent episode of Square Enix Presents, this demo is exclusive to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We’re never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it’s intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early — the demo will be limited to the “Day One” edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015."

Needless to say those who wish to play the Final Fantasy XV demo which now feels like mythril shards from the undying world, would need to pre-order or get the Type-0 Collector's Edition which will "guarantee" a copy of the demo. Seriously, Square?! 

You know I probably would have understand if this was like a limited run copy of some Sega Saturn game or something but we're in 2014! We live in a digital age where demos, games, and everything can be obtained easily and efficiently Chances are they'll most likely unveil this for free down the road (just to screw with fans further) but this and the horrible trick they pulled with FF7 fans just doesn't sit well with me at all.

For firetruck's sake even in three gens before this when a demo is bundled with a game IT'S BUNDLED WITH EVERY GODDAMN COPY!The Metal Gear Rising Demo was with every ZOE Collections copy.Freakin Brave Fencer Musashi on the Ps1 had the FF8 demo with every copy

 

 

Sure I'll get Type-0 in the end but......screw you Square Enix

I'm not surprised by this one bit, S.E. does this alot. Sadly though I won't get Type 0 just because it doesn't appeal to me, and I'll just wait for Final Fantasy 15 to come out on console.

Yeah honestly I didn't plan on getting Type-0 A demo is just a unfinished game so really you won't be missing out on anything. But for those who do plan on getting it I hope the best for you!

There are loads of people who wants to try out the demo for one of the most anticipated games. I don't know if you're aware of this, but demo's greatly help a person decide wheather to buy the full version of said game or not. Instead of just giving the demo to a limited number of people. They should just make it downloadable so that everyone can get a chance to play. It's completely unfair for everyone else that can't get a PS4 atm and would like to try out the demo whenever they get a PS4. We live in an age where demoes can be downloaded digially. They want to sell Type-0 HD. Nothing more. They'll have a proper demo closer to release.

It's a sales thing guys... They are self conscious about the game... Hell they didn't release it here in the first place cause it wasn't gonna sell. Now that it's on PS4, sure they haven better chance but some of the appeal may be lost due to time. This will surely sell copies, I just may get it to play on a friends PS4

Well, that's just peachy.  I'm imagining that the game retailers that day will be stormed in by all the Final Fantasy fans!  Since I'm not going to get a PS4 yet, I'll miss out on this, so for those who do get to play the demo, be sure to enjoy it!

Lol, you mean no one knew this already? There's a reason it's a pre-order incentive. Acting like Square Enix pulled a fast one on anyone is your own fault for not following the news that well.

Besides, the demo is practically Type-0's selling point right now.

I wouldn't call it stupid. I'm doing it and trading Type-0 in for an actual game that'll entertain me once I'm through with FFXV's demo.

Because the demo tides the time I have to wait by just a little bit. It'll probably be $20, considering GameStop usually does $40 trade credit for new games. I can basically pick up a good $40 PS4 game and grab the FFXV demo as well. I'm not too worried about how this money is spent in this situation.
