No Dirge of Cerberus HD? I feel that would take priority over Crisis Core.

PS: Weren't you saying there is no point in remastering Dissidia? What changed?

How? Lol. Dirge of Cerberus sold 1.48 millions and was quite poorly received. They won't waste resources on a full HD remaster of a game like that. Games like that are released as PS2 Classics. Over Crisis Core? I'm sorry, but are you crazy? Crisis Core sold double what DoC did and was very well received.

I don't recall discussing remastering Dissidia.

Well then maybe a Crisis Core and DoC HD collection. What's the point of leaving it out if they want to prepare people for VII and it's inevitable sequel?

9 for sure 9 is the most under rated in the series.

Would you like Ito to make the combat system faster like originally intended?

Prepare people for VII? It's just a port. While I wouldn't be surprised at one, there's no confirmation Toriyama & Kitase are making a sequel to VII.

That doesn't mean it's pointless, simply it's not as high of a priority.

What's the point of including the original Dissidia with Duodecim? That seems a bit redundant

Dissidia is my pick btw

To be honest, the only Final Fantasy game I've actually played is Crisis Core and I absolutely loved it, so that gets my vote.

Doesn't Dissidia 012 already include the original one?

Oh, haha, I'm not saying that, some people just don't know 012 includes the original's story.

Every FF topic there seems to be a argument.

Anyway, FF12. Game kinda interests me.

13 trilogy because I know it's better than what people say even if I've never played it.

It is trust me. I enjoyed all 3 a lot.

Definitely FFXII HD. That game deserves it.

I think a dissidia on console would be super rad.

i say, without a doubt, FF IX, my favourite :3

even dissidia can be a good choice, but maybe instead of a remaster of 012 (which i didn't play it :() i think i would like one with more characters :D (maybe all or most of them? xD )

woah what

why is an HD remake of FF9 on this list

that's way better than any of the other options

FFXII is probably my single favourite game of all time, and I would love to see it in HD.

After that, FFIX is also amazing.

Because unlike VII and VIII they actually have the assets and can remaster it in HD like they did for X & X-2.

er

FF9 is full of 2D backgrounds, not sure what you're talking about

it's just like ff8 or ff7

FF7 - Much of the CG background/cutscene work was outsourced to a Hong Kong company that closed mere months after FF7 shipped & didn't archive anything. Square didn't archive much themselves, either.
FF8 - Similar straits to FF7 but a little better.
FF9 - For a while FF9 began life as a PS2 game as well, and then for a while there was an intention to port it, so many of its CG assets were generated at a higher resolution & presumably still exist.

The problem is the CG backgrounds. In the case of 7 and 8, these only exist at the resolution they were originally rendered - a pitiful 320x240. That's it. The source files for these, the source renders, are lost. if they weren't, it'd be as simple as making them open in modern editing software & then exporting them at a higher resolution. That's impossible without the source. The same is true of the CG cutscenes. FFX features a lot of pre-rendered CG bits too, but when they came to do FF10 HD Remaster all they had to do was re-render them. That's sadly just not possible for FF7/FF8. This'll become obvious in the PS4 port of FF7, as it is on PC - they can force the battle sequences to run at whatever the 4:3 resolution equivalent of 1080p is, but the CG backgrounds in fields, and the cutscenes, will still be 320x240 flat images stretched. To recreate them would be prohibitively expensive.

So when people talk about lost source relating to FF7, it's this in particular they often mean. The CG stuff is gone.

Never played Final Fantasy XII so I choose Crisis Core FFVII.

Good sales and a good game are totally different things. And just cause a game is well received doesn't make it good.

Yeah, and most people say it was a bad game and there's still poor sales. No one does a full HD remaster of a game that is poorly received and sells poorly. Games like DoC are released as PS2 Classics.

For the most part, a game that is well recieved yet garbage to play is when it comes from a big name publisher like Acti or EA, they buy their reviews. Gameinformer/ign is our famistu (let's admit that famistu overhypes games). Anyway, the only way I can see DC getting remade is if they do a FFVII compilation game, with every game, even the Turk cellphone game, and also the movie added just for the complete mythos, but if they did do that, it would just leave a terrible taste in everyone's mouth since ,chronologically,DC is the last game in the universe and it just wasn't good.

Id like Crisis Core and DoC to get the 2.5 treatment and be packaged with a voucher for advent children complete.
