I doubt that it's fake, a lot of us doubt it'a fake. The update with the Roy and Ryu data came form the version 1.0.8 update that was accidentally released early in Japan, and someone's been datamining. There's a lot of things that were from this data, such as an Inkling trophy, Street Fighter Stage, and narrator themes.

Dang, I think the fanbase has a problem with patiently waiting for new information.

This is similar to games that had suffered the same fate, most notably Pokemon. Not trying to fully blame the ones who worked on it+patched it, but they should have waited to patch the games after the "surprise." In other words, in this day and age, this is bound to happen. The best idea could've been simply waiting. What was the rush in patching the game so soon, or even including that stuff if the characters aren't even done?Of course data mining and revealing it sucks and ruins the surprise, but there's simple ways to prevent it.

Ryu seems like a cool addition.

 

Roy is an absolute waste of a character slot. Clone of a character who already has a clone. Wow thanks Smash Bros "fans" for requesting him.

 

Guess we aren't gonna get Isaac or anyone else new from Nintendo's vast library announced any time soon. Shame.

Roy's cinematic seemed to show him using new moves, but I could be wrong. Pretty positive that is the case though. If not, it's unacceptable.

I love how the Ryu video makes it look like has Little Mac and Ryu are bro-fisting and Link wants to join in, but isn't quite sure how to do it.

Nora's glad that Roy's probably back Adds more to the FE Love. Yet, at this point Nora thinks Nintendo needs to start thinking of a fighting game solely for Fire Emblem characters. With If, coming along and Chrom still not playable there's going to be a ton of characters people will want to play with, so a FE fighting game may be a good idea.

Same here... These leakers/hackers won't let him surprise us at all. This was leaked back in April, though, to be fair. We just never saw footage until now.

That Shulk leak pissed me off so much. One week before his official reveal... I would have absolutely lost it if I'd seen his trailer without the leak being involved. My favorite character just had to be one of the two to be leaked like that...

... How can this be faked? It's actual video footage of Ryu and Roy fighting in Smash 4. Videos are far, far more difficult to fake than images.

it takes so many fewer resources to make a clone though, this makes people happy, makes the roster bigger, and takes little effort. That's pretty good, I'd say

No one here said they voted for Ryu, just that we're excited he's in. I personally voted for Seven from Xenoblade, but that doesn't mean I can't be excited about other characters.

I'm not mad. It'd be funny if Ryu and Roy were not the only characters announced. Both characters had data found within in the game to show that they must be right around the corner in terms of release. Sakurai could turn around and announce someone else who is on the way and just not in the game's code yet. I don't think he will, but there is nothing stopping him.

Well can you blame them? People were really excited to see what surprises were awaiting them at tomorrow's Smash bros live stream. And than this goes and happens. That can actually make the live stream less enjoyable. It's like with a movie, you want to experience everything in it without being told about the spoilers. Otherwise the movie won't be as much fun to watch if you already know what to expect.
