So when KHBBS came out, an entity called the χ-blade was introduced.

How many of you called it the 'Kee-blade' from the start?

For me I called it the 'Ex-blade' for the first 6 months or so and then I started calling it the 'Cross-Blade' since it made sense to call it that given the 2 Keyblades crossing one another

(The Japanese like to replace the word 'Cross' with 'X' - examples include Digimon Xross wars which is pronounced 'Cross Wars" along with Project X Zone which is pronounced 'Project Cross Zone')

Eventually I started calling it the 'Kee-Blade' which made it confusing in spoken discussions since the word was homophone of 'Keyblade'.

What about Kingdom hearts unchained χ?

How do you say it?

'Kingdom Hearts Kai'

'Kingdom Hearts Kee'

'Kingdom Hearts Ex'

'Kingdom Hearts Cross'

'That Kingdom Hearts that was made for the web and smartphones'

For a second, I thought you were talking about the Greek letter. Because of BBS I pronounced it like... how it's pronounced in BBS. Like 'key'/'kee'/etc. But then I found out that that's wrong (at least according to statistics). So it's actually like 'kai' or something. That fact that you can write it like 'chi' doesn't help xD

As for the magical weapon, I think I either say X-blade (like with the English letter X) or say χ(kee)-blade and make a little X with my arms.

As for KHχ and Unchained χ, I don't think I even have a consistent way of verbally saying it.

But this:

'That Kingdom Hearts that was made for the web and smartphones'

is probably the best way of saying it.

I still call it the Ex Blade, because I refuse to dignify it in any way.

I know what X means, but I always say -ex to myself since it seems so much easier to remember then having to say kai, key, whatever it is.

If I ever actually have to say it out loud, I'll say "chi" (like "tchee") just to be one hundred percent clear. But in my head it's usually "kai" like the Greek letter that it derives from.

I know it's pronounced Kee but I say chee when I talk to my friends about it

I prefer Kai, so not to mix up chi and key.

I prefer "Kee", since the only time I ever really talk about it is with my fellow KH fan friends and we typically understand our context when we use it right. Other than that, it's never really been a problem for me. I'm currently trying to see if my gf can get into the series, so I'd be lucky if she even got to the point where we have to talk about the whole "kee" vs "kai" or "chee" debate.

For the longest time I always pronounced it as "ex-blade" and "Kingdom Hearts ex." I mean I know that's not how it's supposed to be pronounced but I was just so used to it. Nowadays I'm used to saying it "kee-blade", "unchained kee", "Kingdom Hearts kee" though. If I feel like poking fun at it I'll pronounce it as "chee" because in my language, the word used to express disgust is pronounced as "chee" haha.  xD

I don't think I've ever run into the dilemma of causing confusion when speaking of it out loud. If it ever comes up in spoken conversations(which it rarely does for me) chances are I'm already talking to someone who knows exactly what I'm referring to. On the off chance that it's someone who doesn't know though, then yeah I'll just say "that one game for pc/smartphones."

i used to think it was pronounced "ex" because that sounded like a JRPG-ish name for a weapon. the x-blade

also it looks like an X

i always called it kee

I call fhe X-Blade the 'Ex Blade' just because when I'm talking to someone about it often times it's very confusing as firetruck because they don't know if I'm talking about an actual Keyblade or the X-Blade

Rob called it X(the letter after W) because he felt like it.

X-Blade = Ex-Blade at first when the Japanese Version of BBS was out, then I just called it "Key"blade because of English Version of BBS.

X = Kye of what Xehanort said, then I just called it "Key" ever since the Square Enix Conference 2015.

I call it Kee .

I flip-flop between Chi (Chee) and X (Ex), though I usually call it KHX, now. I know 'Chee' isn't how to properly pronounce it but that's what it looks like to me so I'm sticking with it.

I call it Kai (Kye), mostly because Xehanort himself told me that some people say it that way, and I choose to believe he was solely talking to me. :P

I know it's pronounced like "key" but I say "chi" so people don't get lost when I'm talking lol. Except for when talking about the X-blade, in which ase I say "ex blade"

I called it the χ-Blade from the get go.

I called that x in Unchained X "Key". Although for x chi, it was "Ex" for the X.
