Remember in KH1 when the FF gang talked about the walls that divide the worlds, that is, before the darkness broke in? 

 

Once Sora finally defeats Xehanort and is able to see the truth behind Kingdom Hearts, do you think we'll be seeing a cutscene showing Sora, Riku and Kairi saying their final goodbyes to everyone they met and befriended outside their world, before they go back to the way things were before the darkness came in? Because of the destruction of Xehaort and the darkness, the walls should be then restored for good this time, right? I know this isn't the final game of the series, but since the ending will bring forth Xehanort's demise, which means the end of the dark chaos, maybe this also will mean Sora won't ever be able to see those he have met over the years throughout different worlds. 

 

Nomura did mention that this won't be the last we see of Sora, but no mention of Donald and Goofy whatsoever. It's almost as if this would be the end of the story in which Disney and Square Enix worlds collided which turned out surprisingly amazing in the end.

But I have a feeling this might happen. If so, how would you react? Sora saying his goodbyes to Donald and Goofy with flashbacks from KH1.

It could be possible, and it would ceirtanly be a very good ending in my opinion... but, unfortunately, Nomura wouldn't care and would end up bringing everyone back in the next saga at some point, it's not like I care, though, to me KH will end in KH3, at least for a few years.

 

Also, you forget that in BBS the Heartless didn't appear yet and the keybalde wielders could travel between worlds through those portals (maybe I'm mistaken here and the walls were already taken down then, but I think the walls were still there).

It wasn't the darkness that broke the walls between the worlds. It was the Heartless. With the ending of KH1, we were to believe that the Heartless would be gone for good. Obviously that was not the case.

 

While we know that this will be the end of Xehanort, we don't know if he will die or not. We just know that he'll be defeated since this will be the end of the saga with his name in it.

 

Let's say Xehanort straight up dies and nothing is left of him, the worlds wouldn't be divided. They'll stay just the same. UNLESS, Xehanort succeeds in gaining Kingdom Hearts and possibly resulting in all the worlds becoming one again.

CoDs open portals Wichita bypass the walls (personally I think they do this by actually having you travel through the RoD) and Keyblade Gliders have always been able to bypass the walls. In all honesty, those walls don't seem like a very good defense with so many ways around them.

 

On a somewat different note, I wonder if defeating Xehanort will fully restore all the sleeping worlds to the RoL. There where more than we saw in 3D after all.

You're right, I forgot about it, the walls are restored at the end of KH1, but you can get through them opening the Keyholes in KH2.

I thought these "walls" would be broken down and every world would be connected if/when Sora and the gang put an end to Xehenort. Or have i totally got it wrong?

I believe in KH2 dolan gooby and sora discussed this with Yen Sid. About how heartless can never be completely wiped out because darkness will always exist in people's hearts. But, we all know Sora will open the door to light in KH3 and he might even end up controlling the real kingdom hearts. He'd probably try to put all the worlds back together again. 

 

Another thing that has just sparked in my mind is the 2nd sentence i wrote ^, with that being said, Sora will never have a break and will always have to destroy heartless and save the world.

I've been wondering whether maybe all of the worlds will rejoin to become one again. That sounds like a real game changer.

I don't know but what if...Sora becomes King at the end?

I wish Nomura never said that Sora would live and Xehanort would die for good this time.  Thats like a whole freaking spoiler right there.

I think the worlds will reunite like before the keyblade war.

I'd say either: The Worlds would be reunited, with Sora perhaps controlling KH or, basically, becoming a God and doing it, because I'd rather the protagonist for later games be someone else and that way, he can still say Sora'll be around, but not the main guy. (I can dream, damn you. )

 

OR: They just keep using all the mentioned Wall Bypassing Methods of Travel, just with less evil Xehanort in the mix.

 

...and probably Xehanort dying, a lot of dark moments before then and during and a damn awesome conclusion to the Dark Seeker Saga.

Man, an ending like that would certainly bring tears to my eyes, and let me say, I'd blubber like a baby!  Growing up with Sora and the gang on this amazing journey, and then saying goodbye like that...damn.  That definitely sounds like an ending that would just melt my heart! :')

 

But an ending like that should actually be saved for when the series as a whole officially ends.  Because that way, it'd be a literal goodbye!

1st thought: The doggone prophecy will be fulfilled, it seems like Xehanort is correct about it being fullfilled until suddenly--a great big PSYCHE (perhaps something from Kingdom Hearts?) will occur and Xehanort would probably be like WTFudge, and he'll disappear into the Light?

 

2nd thought: The true light returns. All of the worlds might turn back into this "one single world that was constantly bathed in the warmth of light" (from Kairi's Grandma's story)? (I don't know about this thought.)

Xehanort will be defeated and everyone who is good will get a happy ending. also there'll be another "Heroes riding off into the sunset" type of ending to leave the door open to future games.

I was just replaying KH1 and while I was watching Yuffie talk about saying goodbye forever, the thought came into my mind. But according to evidences from BBS and KH2, it's clear that there's still a way to see them again no matter what. Maybe it's because the idea that Nomura had no connections to the future games when he created this one, making him create corrupted theories (Like Mickey not telling Sora about Ven Terra and Aqua all this time).

 

The more and more I delve into the entire story of KH, the more my mind gets twisted up. D: I hope Nomura finds a really clever way to make most of the things a lot more simple to figure out in Kingdom Hearts 3 when it releases lol

I always figured that the walls which exist are a result of the Darkness being there, as the worlds were all united as one prior to it seeping in and separating them.

Most importantly we need to wrap this series up, hopefully have no lingering questions. Ending/ secret ending I kind of have in mind which would satisfy me would be afte the Keyblde War, to have the lights and other allies reunite for a farewell. We could then have TAV return to the Land of Departure with the aim to train future keyblade wielders, MDG return to Disney Castle with an emotional farewell between SDG and RM, RLX and possibly Namine return to Twilight Town and finally SRK return to Destiny Islands. We could then have a final cutscene showing the trios in their iconic areas ( TAV looking at the stars, RLX eating ice cream on the train tower and SRK on the Tree branch looking at the ocean.

 

After the credits, have a stranger appear and look towards probably Sora Ansem say something cryptic like ' this was nothing compared to what is coming'/ ' you have passed the initial test'/ ' enjoy your peace, because it will end soon' and then to end.

 

Or alternatively have a secret ending in an unknown location with unidenified characters and again have something cryptic like ' I seriously thought Xehanort would win, this changes our plans'/ ' at last we can reveal ourselves ( Darth Maul pun not intended) then to end with either sinister laughing or a quick, but not revealing glimpse of who spoke.

 

Then cue the wait for KH4 to find out who tin the case of scenario A) the person is or B) who this group is, their intentions and what is sora going to be faced with next.

That is a decent ending, but I do know that if the heartless return in KH4, Dolan, Gooby and Sera will find a way to get the band back together!

Xehanort is a top notch keyblade wielder. I don't really see the next protagonist being stronger, but rather similar to Nort. Only, he will have access to powers that were never seen before in the KH series.Or alternatively have a secret ending in an unknown location with unidenified characters and again have something cryptic like ' I seriously thought Xehanort would win, this changes our plans'/ ' at last we can reveal ourselves ( Darth Maul pun not intended) then to end with either sinister laughing or a quick, but not revealing glimpse of who spoke.Xehanort's too powerful to actually have been monitored. Likewise, he is a strategist and this outcome is seriously unlikely.

Yeah, it seems Nomura felt the need to discard the idea of the walls as soon as KH2 came into mind and brought up all of those ideas lol
