Seeing as KH3 is going to be overflowing with characters that can be acquired into your party, I've been thinking about those two slots where Donald and Goofy reside. Notice the big space on the right side of them? What if that space is meant to be for 2 more characters that can also join your party? That would mean the max amount in your party would be 4, making a total party of 5, a first in the Kingdom Hearts series!

Donald and Goofy will always be in your party, just like the previous games. However, in KH3, since there are more characters to be alongside Sora throughout his adventure (Riku, Kairi, Lea, etc) you can now add not one but two more into your group. The visitable worlds will have 2 characters instead of 1 that can join your team, like in Tangled with Flynn and Rapunzel, and Big Hero 6 with Hiro and Baymax.

What do you guys think? :D

I couldn't come up with a better title but I finally did xD Having a hard time since I'm a bit tired but hyped at the same time lol.

Did you see the trailer or something? I'm asking because most people aren't hyped at all.

Considering that the 7 lights are likely members of your party, then probably yes.

damn, I though this was confirmation but anyway I think Is very likely

It's Kingdom Hearts 3. I'm hyped up about it even if I wasn't able to see a trailer xD. After all, they did say we just gotta wait till tomorrow to get to watch it. As long as we got something tonight, I'm cool with that. These images are beautiful (minus the 0.2 one, it's kinda weird lol)

Interesting. Very well could be the case. Hype is rising.

We missed the making of KH3 video, and that beautiful 3D render of Daybreak town, and it stays exclusive to the Premium Theater. Darn Japanese companies!

That space is quite interesting. It could very well be for more party members, or it could be for something completely different. I don't think all worlds will have multiple characters join your party, but I can see it being done for some.

In my opinion it would make sense. Most Final Fantasy games allow up to 3 party members +your character. And it could really change this up while also opening the door to new possibilities.

A lot of Disney Revival movies have a duo chemistry "Ralph and Vaneloppe/Hiro and Baymax" etc. so, it'd make sense to have four overall members in KH3.

I think a four party member system could work if they did it like the guest party member system from final fantasy 12 where you would have someone traveling in your party temporarily, but you couldn't customize them.

I'm starting to hope this is the case!

Since KH3 is on better hardware, 5-6 party members should be no problem at all. Heck, 7-8 should even be fine but I doubt we'd need that many. I never spotted those empty slots, good observation :D

I think you're right that's why they changed to circle form.

Just gonna leave this here:

  • We’re interested in how the action in KHIII will have evolved.

Nomura: Right now there’s a demo version that runs on the hardware… and it’s an absolute storm (laughs). It goes even beyond ‘bold action’. In KHIII you will have a three person party, but depending on the world NPCs will also join in fighting. Basically, some very flashy action will unfold. You’ll be flying through the sky flowing through air battles without landing.

Well'p, I guess this means the hype is dead. But I'm still interested in these empty slots next to Donald and Goofy.

It doesn't say anywhere that the NPC will replace characters in the three member party (presumably Sora, Donald and Goofy; "also join in" meaning adding onto the three members. There's gonna be so many characters being introduced to the combat system, and with the current gen's technology, including the new "Neo" PS4, there's still a possibility.

I did not say anything but posted this here. Take it for what you want.

While that would be pretty cool, I think that it would be a little bit crowded unless the worlds are designed in a way that would allow for a large number of fighting NPCs. The empty space is most likely there for aesthetic design.

Ya know, I never thought about those empty spaces that way!  It'd actually be pretty cool if that meant that we'd have a 5-member party!  That would definitely cause quite a romp against the hordes of Heartless and Nobodies!  Nomura did say that NPC's would join the fight with us, so maybe we'll have the opportunity to have many party members battling at once!  That'd be badass! :D

Another idea that adds on to it is more than 5 but only having 5 with you in-game. In KH remember how you could choose who was there? idk
