Etrian Odyssey IV

Mario & Luigi Dream Team and Paper Jam

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Resident evil revelations

FF1 3D (JP only)

KH DDD, Bravely Defualt/Second, Yokai Watch, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Etrian Odyssey.

Well, there's Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance obviously.

My favorite 3DS game by far though is Mario & Luigi Dream Team; I just love it, so I definitely recommend it! Mario & Luigi Paper Jam comes out in a few weeks in the U.S., but if you live in Japan, Europe, or Australia you can already get it.

Bravely Default is an okay rpg, but...

The game is divided into eight chapters, and chapters four through seven are the exact same, except for the bosses getting a bit stronger (and you get no exp for beating them). Also, you have to level grind a lot, so if you hate that, then I don't recommend this game.

Final Fantasy Explorers, Dragon Quest VII, and Dragon Quest VIII are three more rpgs that come out later this year, so you might wanna check those out.

Other games I really enjoy, but aren't rpgs (and I don't think they're adventure games either) are Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and Kirby Triple Deluxe.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings - it's actually DS but it's firetrucking addicting and amazing.

Curtain Call is great. Pokemon is Pokemon. Mario Kart is Mario Kart.

Kirby triple deluxe seems good to me, but I have not played kirby before, is it a good game to start playing the kirby franchise?

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate might be worth looking into. It's a game that's not for everyone, but it does have a lot of RPG elements that you might find interesting. Pokemon and Zelda games are also good bets for both of the genres you mentioned. If you have a New 3DS, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a fantastic port of a fantastic Wii game.

I'd personally suggest starting with Super Star Ultra, which is a DS game. I'd personally say it's the best entry in the series, and it does a good job of easing you in. Triple Deluxe makes some references to past titles later on in the game, so I think it's a game that's better enjoyed if you have more knowledge about the series. If you have a Wii, there's also the Dream Collection that includes the first six main-series Kirby games, including the original Super Star. Ultra is a remake with some new game modes.

To be honest, probably not. Its an anniversary game, so it has references to many of the previous games. If you don't care about that though, then its fine. Personally, for a first Kirby game, get Kirby Super Star. Its for the SNES and a remake called Kirby Super Star Ultra is for the DS, so you can get the remake at least. There are three other Kirby games for the DS. Kirby Squeak Squad has all the basic Kirby elements, so its another option for a starter. Kirby Canvas Curse and Kirby Mass Attack, however, are different from the other games, so while they are good, they aren't good starters as their gameplay is much different from the basic Kirby formula.I hope this helps :D

I second Xenoblade 3D for New 3DS.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (DL on eShop - by far one of the funniest and fun games I've played.)

KH DDD of course

AAAND who knows? You might like Super Smash Bros. 3DS if you give it a try (and especially if you have friends to play with)

Since everyone else said just about everything....

I would recommend Rune Factory 4. A fun action-RPG with romance and farming; think Harvest Moon except you can romance elf-girls and fight giant chickens. My testament to it is that it's my highest played 3DS game with over 300 hours put into it.

Ocarina of Time 3D

Majora Mask 3D

A Link Between Worlds

Triforce Heroes

Donkey Kong Country Return 3D

Shantae and The Pirate Curse

Shovel Knight

Super Smash Bros 3DS(If you don't have a WII U)

Any of the Pokemon games

Fire Emblem Awakening

POKÉMON IS LOVE POKÉMON IS LIFE

Fire Emblem Awakening is a rather fun rpg as well!

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance

Super Smash Bros 4

Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (eShop)

Most Virtual Console games(eShop)

The Legend of Zelda series

Super Mario 3D Land

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D

Heroes of Ruin

Mario Party: Island Tour (Not as great without the star collecting aspect, but still okay to play, especially to kill time)
