Transfer Pokemon from RBY to SM via PokeBank.

Wait a second... how the hell will IVs be determined when Pokemon RBY had different IV ranges? (15 was the max iirc?) I guess this won't matter to casuals, but competitively these Pokemon will be bad.Well at least there's another way to get tutor moves, which I forgot if RBY had them... Why would it be the last generation? Pokemon's the second best selling game series of all time, they won't abruptly end it when it's the type of series that still has plenty of steam to keep going. If games like Zelda or Final Fantasy can go on as long as they have, Pokemon can easily keep going after this. Nintendo would lose out on a lot of potential sales if Gamefreak didn't release a new generation after this on their next handheld.

I mean if they're adding internet and Bank support, I'd expect them to change that up a bit, especially with the amount of time it has taken for them to rerelease an older title.

If names are Gamefreak's biggest concerns, they'll definitely have no trouble keeping the series strong. Pretty sure that it's easier to come up with two opposite things than it is to make a Zelda game title.

 

They won't just suddenly end something that's so big. That wouldn't make any sense at all. Imagine if FFXV released, then Square just said "This is the last Final Fantasy we'll ever make."

Why do we need pure confirmation from something as simple as this? Not trying to start anything, but if anyone had doubts about Gen 7, they should know better.

So what, are we just going to skip the whole Zygarde thing and Pokemon Z to move on to a new generation? Not like Gamefreak to do that. Oh well. Dibs on Moon!

It was very likely. They haven't done a third combined game since Platinum. Black and White and two separate sequels Black 2 and White 2 and never had a combined one. X and Y were likely to follow suite and they did. No Z and Gen 7 is on the way. Plus it's been 3 years. You really wanna stick to the same old game after 3 years?

My favorite thing is that people held out hope for Z for 3 years, even though Platinum was the last title to do that. That was 3 generations ago at this point. It's been years and it's unnecessary to keep it from there.

I suppose not. I just thought Zygarde was going to get his chance to shine like all the other 3rd party legendaries before him. Now he's going to be overshadowed even more. It doesn't have to be a combined game, but I thought this would be the last Gen 6 games at least.  Still happy about a new gen though. Can't wait to see more in the future.

Have they ever... mixed Gens like that before? It'd be like having the Delta Episode in XY or something.

(Unless Zygarde was actually super important in XY?)
