Now, before you read this topic and instantly start typing away "We've already seen Eraqus in the trailers." No. I don't mean Young Eraqus. I mean MASTER Eraqus, his incarnation from Birth by Sleep.

 

So with that done with, let's discuss. Could there possibly be a way for us to see a return of Master Eraqus in Kingdom Hearts III? I think it is highly plausible that we will see him in some form or another, because as we know, from Blank Points, Eraqus is inside the heart of Terra, along with Terra himself, and Xehanort. I don't think we will be able to see a physical manifestation of Master Eraqus, unless it was the Armour of the Master, much like Terra's Lingering Will. 

 

I for one would honestly like to see Master Eraqus return, he would be a good plot stimulus if Terra turns out to be one of the 7 Lights (Which I highly doubt considering Terranort is most likely a Darkness), but what do you guys think, do you think it's possible for Eraqus to return as Master Eraqus in KHIII?

Possibly, it's so obvious that Terra is alive and well. MX said in DDD that Sora and another on Mickey's list belong to him, the list was

 Ven Aqua Terra Sora Riku and Mickey

 

Mickey Riku and Sora can be eliminated for obvious reasons.

I doubt Mickey snitched or is a traitor, Terra makes the most sense. When Xemnas perished, Terra and MX probably returned to the Keyblade graveyard, since Terra's body went through hell and back (being used by Xemnas, Ansem SOD) MX probably woke up first. 

 

 

Since we know Eraqus' heart went inside Terra's, if Terra is back then it's possible to unlock Eraqus' heart from Terra's. Like Sora did with Kairi's heart, but this may turn Terra into a heartless temporarily and cause a nobody to be born.

Well we already knew that Terra is with Xehanort because of the secret ending of KHBBSFM. I mean I dare say he was in the room Where Nothing Gathers when the 13 were present.

What I meant was, after Xemnas perished the 2 people before the merging of TX returned. That scene in BBSFM doesn't tell us if Terra is a SOD, but what Xehanort said heavily implies that he was in the room or near by.

Well I mean considering after the defeat of Terranort at the hands of Aqua, and considering the affiliation that Braig had with Master Xehanort (Later becoming a darkness), I think as soon as Xehanort implanted his heart within Terra, he became a Seeker of Darkness, and will do until Terra and(?) Master Eraqus can free Terra from the inside.

I am not sure he will physically return, but I am willing to bet that he will speak to Terra's mind and heart.

I feel like Master Eraqus won't come back, but I want him to.

 

But I DO feel like Terra will be free'd by 1 of 2 scenarios.

 

A: He, as Terranort, in the Keyblade War, strikes down either Aqua or Ventus, causing Terra's heart to lost its mind, if you will, and force its way out of Xehanort, and back to the regular Terra, realizing what he has done, he, I guess sacrifices himself to bring them back by giving either his heart, I don't know how that would work, the second theory I have is more plausible.

 

B: He comes back, during the Keyblade War and sacrifices himself to save Aqua or Ventus, whether it be jumping in front of a strike from Young Xehanort or the like, and dying for them, taking his killer with him with some sort of attack, with his final words being to Aqua and/or Ventus... "I told you... I would set things right..."

I honestly think KH3's ending will see everyone who has been lost and/or died coming back. So I believe Master Eraqus will be restored.

 

However, in the event I'm wrong, the least I see happening for Eraqus is he lives inside Terra. So Terra is the host for himself and Eraqus, who can act as another consciousness.

i don't see why we would. unless he wants to appear as a ghostly figure or something when/if his heart is ever released.

 

i'd be pissed if he actually comes back and is alive at the end. seriously. you gotta draw the line somewhere, Square. at least make ONE death permanent and keep its meaning.

I could see the second point happening. Eraqus could also act as an inhibitor, so he doesn't get overtaken by the darkness again.

I hope Eraqus and Xehanort will face in the final clash between 7 Lights and 13 darknesses. You know, just like the chess game but with the real chess figures.

Even Nomura logic cant justify that one, definetly not.

I'm not ruling anything out at this point.  I would not be surprised if we saw him again.

Mark Hamil voices Master Eraqus so he will be sure to cameo if he doesn't come back at the least

Look bud, with characters coming back to life being such a common thing in this series, I think it's safe to say that we'll probably see Eraqus in the flesh again!  But then again, I don't really know!  It just depends if Nomura has any use for him story-wise!  I mean, okay, we got the young version, but I don't know if Nomura will integrate the version of Master Eraqus we're used to, ya know?

 

Edit: If anything, I bet we'd get a sort of Obi-Wan guiding Luke Skywalker vibe out of Eraqus!  Eraqus could slowly guide Terra out of the darkness so he can be freed from Xehanort's hold!

I don't really want Eraqus back, to be honest. Although I did like him, I don't want every single character ever in KH just to make a reappearance.

only Maleficent was able to return, but she's a special character so I don't think we can say there's no death in KH just because of her.In KH you normally die if you're struck down or because of old age, otherwise xehanort in BBS didn't need to possess TerraIn my opinion when you die in KH your heart normally goes to the real KH and stays there unable to come back, eraqus heart(or maybe only part of it) is now inside Terra, he would probably reappear briefly to say goodbye before disappearing forever
